Looking good, Gaga! I know that theatrics are your thing, I’d love to see you rock the barefaced look more often, as your makeup-less features are very pretty.
But just because Gaga’s wearing less makeup than usual, doesn’t mean that this cover captures her “natural” essence. In her interview with the magazine, Gaga said:
“Don’t you think that what’s on the cover of a magazine is quite artificial? There’s this idea that it’s all natural, but everything’s been staged to look natural. It is also an invention. It’s just that my inventions are different. I often get asked about my artifice, but isn’t fashion based on the idea that we can create a fantasy?”

I really don’t find her attractive.

i love gaga with less make-up. i wouldn’t call her classically beautiful, but she definitely doesn’t need as much make-up as she wears.

The cakey brows = no bueno!

yeah, it does look like it’s more staged to be natural rather than really being natural. I don’t really like how the look is to be honest and the non appearance of eyebrows, which are really helpful to shape your face and what not

Carrie.

I actually like the last pic with the black hair. She isn’t what you could call traditonally beautiful but then again having a good personality is more important in the long run.

She is not cute.

She looks like one of the silent film actresses.

@TheScienceOfChic - I was also thinking that her brows looked kind of odd.
@waldesau@xanga - I agree the brows add something to rounding out the face.
I think Lady Gaga benefits from wearing less makeup as a general notion. I don’t know if this look is considered natural, but it is definitely more subtle than the looks we’re used to seeing on her. I do agree that the photos on magazine covers aren’t really “natural.” Lots of primping is usually involved to achieve a certain look due to society’s ideals of beauty. Not sure if there is a market for it, I know I probably wouldn’t buy a magazine with a model on the cover in her natural state: no makeup, natural hair color, unplucked, etc. I don’t need the magazine to teach me how to achieve the look, I can make it happen on my own.

she could look decent but she has her mouth open in the pics, which make her look ditzy in a duh pose.

she looks a little like joni mitchell. just a little.

She reminds me of a younger Cher when she has long hair, it’s kind of weird

I don’t find her attractive sans make-up… Then again, I never found her really attractive with make-up either. She’s a little on the plain side. I think if she wasn’t Lady Gaga, she would be a wallflower (which isn’t necessary a bad thing) and people wouldn’t look twice at her.

Don’t think she’s all that pretty without makeup, but thats just me. I’m starting to think all her crazy outfits are a good thing because in a way she’s sort of promoting a “natural” look as so much hype gets generated when she tries to look “normal”.
guest
so i am guessing that is not her “natural look,” pretty sure she got some baggy eyes which is photobrushed from that cover.

What’s up with her eyebrows? They’re whigging me out. Lol

she has an interesting face. One that I could stare at for a while

Anyone can look decent “naked faced” in a black & white photo.

She looks very Armenian. Her makeup-less pictures look a lot like Cher when she was young–and it definitely seems like she’s channeling her here.

beautiful.

Hmm, not sure if those magazines will be flying off the shleves any time soon.

her eyes are strange.
but her face is very interesting. kudos to gaga.

I don’t think she’s very attractive with or without make up. =\

Um … pretty? Not so sure.
