I loveee all of them. I am obsessed with watching all the beauty gurus on youtube! I do have some dislikes about some of them listed ^, but overall, their videos are amazing. 

I used to watch some of Michelle Phan’s videos, but then she got slower with updating and now that I’m a bit older, I feel she wears too much makeup, even in her “natural” look tutorials. I think Bubz is cute, but her voice kind of annoys me. I haven’t heard of the rest.

Since I stopped wearing anything more than foundation and started focusing on good skin care and self-confidence – the main reason I’m not big on the makeup guru thing anymore, I’ve been leaning more towards QQ (BeautyQQ on YouTube, or “Queenie”). Beauty from the inside out, no judgments or influences on the more controversial cosmetic things like cosmetic surgery and stuff.

I LOVELOVELOVE Lauren Luke (panacea81) she’s a single mom and is so personable and funny. She now has her own line at Sephora and its all pretty great her palettes are super easy to use.

I love JLovesMac, but sometimes she’s just too much for me, lol. I also love AndreasChoice. Ulovemegz isn’t bad, either.

I really don’t like any of those ^ especially Michelle and Kandee, they lie a lot, and they’re really annoying. but i love love love Vintageortacky.

You forgot beautycrush. Someone with the same problem as me; baby fat.

I’m subbed to the first three.  Love them.

why are they asian?

I used to really like Michelle Phan, because we’re from the same area and she seemed really down to earth. She also used to focus on mainly skincare when she was still a xanga blogger. Now.. I don’t know. I feel like she’s changed a lot, and she cakes on the makeup =_=. Still, it’s amazing what she’s accomplished at such a young age, only starting out from YouTube o_o

I love Jen from Frmheadtotoe. She’s so sweet! I love watching her videos and tutorials. There’s also fuzkittie, and Sharon from OhBeauty88. OH, and BeautyQQ. Oh man, I love her. She’s so happy and spunky, very full of life. She helped me change my outlook on things and want to better myself.

I loved Michelle Phan when she blogged on Xanga as ricebunny, and then she got super rich from all the hits and sponsors.

I love JlovesMac at first I was like “what the hell what is wrong with this girl” and then the more I watched the more I started to enjoy all of her videos. Her spaziness makes the videos enjoyable to watch in fact she’s the only youtube guru I watch on the regular.

@mel - I asked that (if you couldn’t tell already -_-). The majority of them are asian which I find funny. 

my all time favorite is michelle phan and i was introduced to her when she used to have her xanga website up but we no longer comes on here.  but i still love her, i try to catch her on youtube all the time.  there’s another girl, i think her name is xteenie on youtube too and i think she’s also just as great.  i like her better than the other girls.  i say she’s second on my list.

Oh my gosh!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE JLovesMac1. She’s hilarious and always put me in a good mood.

I’ve got quite a few favorites haha. I’m obsessed with Petrilude, Jazziebabycakes, Pixiwoo, Goldiestarling, Queenofblendingmua, NikkieTutorials & a lot more, but I’ll stop there. I prefer to watch (and attempt to recreate or take inspiration from) gurus create more dramatic/bright looks and that’s what they do a good amount of the time.

I always been meaning to check out Kandee Johnson’s videos yet I always forget. >.

@mak3believ3@xanga - it just really annoys me how she goes on and on (though she’s been doing it less lately) about how broke she is but still goes on trips and buys expensive crap. She was arrested for leaving her young son home alone when she went on a trip out of state and set up a paypal account for her viewers to pay her legal fees! and she begs for everyone to send her presents all the time, she’s got some balls!

Hollyannaree is beautiful :O I have not seen her videos yet, I’m too lazy to browse make-up videos lately..now that I feel that I learn most of the stuff I need to learn. I like Stylesuzi, she just recently graduated from beauty school….so her things are legit.

@lifeslibrary@xanga - They’re not all Asian. And that’s kind of (no it really is) a rude question. And if you haven’t noticed the author of the post is Asian as well. So it be abnormal to pick make-up/fashion gurus who are the same heritage (?) as her.

I love Michelle, she’s my favorite. She doesn’t even need to wear makeup because her skin is so perfect, that’s why I’m subscribed to her. I want skin like hers so I follow any regime that she suggests for clear skin. 

I mainly watch her, xsparkage & MakeupGeekTV (marlena).

I love Bubz – she seems so sweet – and JLovesMac – she is SO entertaining. I watch all of them except Hollyanna because I’ve never seen her before. I used to like Ahanhbarbie, but lately she seems to be trying to hard. I like dulcecandy’s videos, but it bothers me that she spends SO much money and time on makeup and clothes when she has a brand new baby to take care of.

Ewww I cant stand MichellePhan, I think shes so fake. I did enjoy one of her videos like 2 years ago but I cant stand her now. I like AndreasChoice but lately shes been bugging me. I am from the Los Angeles area and I know people who have met her and they say shes actually pretty rude in person. Same for Blair and Elle Fowler aka JuicyStar and AllthatGlitters or whatever, they moved to LA cause they thought it would be cool to bank off of their YouTube success and in all reality, they dont fit into LA. Plus, their videos have sucked since they became famous. Just sayinn. I do love Kandy though, I hear shes super sweet in person. I ADORE DULCE!! She was in the Army for a while too and I am also in the Army and share a lot of her interests. Anyway, some of favorites are: MakeupbyTiffanyD, ItsJudyTime (SHES AMAZING!!!), I do love JlovesMac1 too, she used to be really to hyper for me but now I think shes super funny. I also like MacBarbie and NikkieTutorials and Julieg… I forget their whole names sometimes, I am subscribed to A BUNCH. All I know is I cant stand MichellePhan, I want to slap her everytime i see her channel pop up in my suggestions section.

I just watched a lot of these for the first time and subscribed to a few, but in particular I love JLovesMac1. Originally when I read the description of her channel here I thought she was going to be a little too over the top for me but I adore her personality!

@xhalesx@revelife - I’m Asian too. And no, my favourite make up/aesthetics youtuber isn’t Asian. Its pretty common to have similar features as someone who you’re taking advice from for physical appearance though. I’ll give you that. 

I’m sort of laughing at this all, because Asians are stereotyped for being good at doing make up, nails, and here they are yet again being stereotyped.

uh i dont’ like half of the ones you listed. my friend is a big makeup junkie and she went to imats and told me about the bitcheries of michelle phan and dulce.  dulce was preggers then and she was talking to sccastaneda ( who i kinda like) and refering to her swarming fan as “bitches”, shes so stupid as to put a vlog up and complain about the fans etc. my friend also talked to michelle phan and she was cold and curt. i like kandee and pursebuzz who are super sweet in person,  andreaschoice and holly are fun to watch,xiaxue is a fav(though not really known for being a guru),

I dislike Hollyannaree. I love Shiba Inus (a breed of dog), and I personally rescued two. In her videos, she bought a dog from a pet store on an impulse, and when people try to tell her about the health and ethical issues in buying a dog from a pet store, she gets super defensive and bitchy. And then she deletes your comment. It only pains me knowing that she has thousands subscribers, and that they too will impulse buy a dog from a pet store… 

@lifeslibrary@xanga - Don’t worry, I found it a funny too. The OP looks vaguely Asian (I honestly can’t tell her ethnicity all that well from the pic) so that could have something to do with it. I guess it makes sense to watch make up tutorials with women who have similar skin tones and features as you?

I just clicked and tried to watch one of Hollyannaeree videos on a whim and she instantly lost me by putting eyeliner under her eyelid. I don’t wear make up, so maybe that is the norm, but I know is definitely not good for you to do >.<

I put together a Poison Ivy Halloween costume from Kandee’s channel. It turned out great.
