Demi looked AMAZING. I’m so proud of her for how far she’s come. Dealing with eating issues is a difficult enough task when you aren’t in the public eye, and I wish her the best in staying above all the hate-talk.

I’m confused. Really? People are saying that? fwi people: SHE IS NOT FAT. 

Well, she certainly is larger than I am, in a body-mass sense. My boyfriend would probably call her fat. I think she carries her new body well.

I mean, she’s certainly not skinny but her body looks good and she looks absolutely gorgeous. 

She’s not skinny, but not fat. She’s thinner than most American’s (who are so unhealthy) so at least she’s doing better than they are. She looks damn good though. 

That’s about the size my body was at my “fattest”.
By the standards I hold myself, too… that was WAY. WAAAY too fat.

It depends on who’s judging. Throw her in China and people will treat her like she’s 300 pounds. I personally think she’s chubby, but carries her weight well. I’d rather myself be skinnier than her though…but that’s because I criticize myself before everyone else..

I hate how criticizing society can be. She worked really hard to learn to control her ED and people are criticizing her for being at a much healthier weight. When she was really skinny it did look slightly scary (those legs especially). This weight looks much better on her and it looks like it may be at or close to her ideal weight. She may be a little over but she’s not pushing fat.

The girl is not fat, not by a long shot. Societal views on what does and does not constitute “fat” annoy the hell out of me.

i think there’s more the issue of her plunging neckline for the vmas…. but it’s an adult awards show, so idk??? she looks great wth…. i want her curves. i saw some pics of her when she was on barney and see that it must have been hard for her to “be in the business” (of course what do i know about that cuz i’m NOT) being surrounded by naturally thin people (like selena gomez, also on barney)…. i mean, well… she’s come a long way. your youth is about messing up, but it’s also about stopping yourself before it gets too out of hand. i hope she’s found her limits and will spend the next decade figuring it out… just like everybody else does! — she’ll eventually figure out some kind of diet/exercise regimen to maintain her figure or whatever she wants to do. idk, i don’t see what’s wrong with her now, even by media standards!!!!!

…Seriously? If people thing that’s fat or not skinny, then I must be obese in your eyes. I think she’s skinny. But she’s a healthy skinny. She’s definitely not chubby or fat. I think she looks great! I am so proud of her because she has come so far. It’s hard to go to rehab and admit you have problems when you’re in the public eye with so many people judging you. My love and support goes out to Demi.

She looks amazing. I like that the article ends with asking if skinnier or healthier was better. So often it’s just assumed that if you aren’t skinny you are pigging out and watching TV all day. I’m size 14/16 with a gym membership that I actually use 4-5 days a week! I don’t believe in dieting, but I do try to eat in a balanced manner. Some of us are just never going to be balanced and healthy AND stick thin.

Wow. It really amazes me how insensitive people can be. Not only is she not fat, but she is absolutely gorgeous. And she may be out of rehab, but she isn’t done recovering. Even if the symptoms of an eating disorder are gone, the thoughts and temptations behind it never completely go away. She isn’t exactly in the clear, and stupid, insensitive comments could be a trigger for her. Especially, with the added stress of having a career where the opinions of others matter most to your success. Does anybody actually think before they open their mouths anymore?

I think she looks great. People really are too picky. If you don’t look like a barbie, you aren’t perfect. And if you do look like a barbie, then you must be fake or something. There’s going to be someone saying something negative about you no matter who you are or what you look like.

it sucks that she has to go through with her ED with hundreds of picture surfacing of her, past and present. the worst thing that can happen is having to look at older pictures and see what used to be and comparing them to now. those are always the most triggering. it sucks that she has to endure that. best of luck to her. :/

also, right after you start recovering from ED, of course you’ll gain a lot more weight. 1) your body has been treated like hell for the past years. 2) because of that, your metabolism is completely shot. it’s going to take a while for her body to be able to process food normally again. she’s eating a lot more and her body, already low in metabolism, has no idea how to respond normally. so yeah, her body’s still adjusting and will get back down even when she’s pretty healthy already.

It’s so sad how the media has distorted our perception of what “fat” truly is…

If she went to the doctor, her doctor would not say she’s fat and needs to start watching her weight.I grew up in the “Spice Girls generation”…everyone thought they were the best, and young girlsso badly wanted to be like them. If you looked at pictures of the Spice Girls now from back in the 90′s, they would all probably be considered fat too.I hope this criticism doesn’t trigger Demi back into her eating disorder….this isn’t worth losing her life over like that French Model Isabelle Caro who just recently died.

I just want to say I’m as gay as after-the-storm rainbow, but I would tap that if I had the opportunity. This is what is really ideal for me as far as women. Curvy not fat, yes there is a difference.

I think everyon needs to fuck off. Seriously, celebrities are sometimes obnoxious and cocky but not her. She reminded us that celebs are people too that struggles with everyday things. It makes me so mad to see her being torn apart like this. How she has handled her problems and speaking publicly about them to me has been extremely impressive. She’s a recovering bulimic which is something I’ve struggled with for years and I know if I was surrounded by comments, criticism, and being attacked for my body and weight I would want to wear a trash bag everywhere I went, not a skin tight dress in front of millions. So.. good for Demi, she’s one strong girl and she looks happy.

She looks so much better than 2 years ago! in one episode of Sunny with a Chance, she looked like a friggin Toothpick. It looks like she has it under control. To go what she has been through and what friggin joe jonas put her through, from punching out  one of the camp rock 2 back up dancers to coming out of rehab this lady is amazing she has come so far……i hate people are judging her this makes her skyscraper song even more powerful haha i love writing for disney

I pity anyone calling this beautiful woman fat. They must have some serious issues with themselves and must be very unhappy inside. This woman has overcome her issues just to blossom into a real woman. Not the shapeless stick figure that this country has been brainwashed into loving so much. It infuriates me that these ego-centric bullies online and in the media would ever attack her. SHE IS RECOVERING FROM AN EATING DISORDER. She looks great but that does not necessarily mean she has the best self-esteem yet. For these people to put her down is completely inconsiderate and cruel.
