I’m going to be honest and say I’ve never owned rain boots before, but that’s because I never really needed them. However, I’m leaving for college soon and my mom suggested that I should get a pair of rain boots in case it ever rains (which it does, a lot, in Ohio) and I have to make the trek across campus sloshing in puddles.
I came across this pair from Nine West that caught my eye. They are currently on sale, which makes me want to buy it even more. It’s sold in two colors, and although I like it more in black, they don’t have the black ones in my size anymore. I’m a size six and luckily, they do have the army print ones in my size!
So do you guys think I should get these Nine West rain boots in army print? (Brunelda, $27.60 from Nine West). Is it too boy-ish for a girl? Or does it look chic? I’m really tempted to buy them, because I know Nine West is a good brand and buying $70 boots for only $27 is a great deal. Thanks for any and all advice.

Yeah, but get the black ones.

I think that camo is white trash =/ I love the design, it’s very grown up, but I hate the pattern.

They’re so cool!
I’m a crazy shoe kind of person with a penchant for camo, so these tickle my fancy as well. Go for it! You’re sure to get oodles of comments.

you definitely should by some rain boots, but i’m not a fan of those.

I wouldn’t buy these rainboots if they were the last pair of rainboots on earth. They print is… not attractive.
guest
I don’t like them. I have herringbone patterned rainboots! Get a cute pair from Target or something like that…from an Ohio girl, they won’t last long anyway

Try those on and order the black ones online… it’ll be easier to wear those and you won’t get tired of them too quickly. Besides, camo is a no-no unless you’re a hunter or something like that.

Hey everyone, I posted the original post and I’ve actually found a better pair of rainboots that I like a lot! What do you guys think of these? http://www.dsw.com/shoe/two+lips+nile+rain+boot?prodId=219674&category=dsw10cat70019
and btw, some of you suggested that I get the black ones instead….I don’t think you understand
I would definitely get the black ones in a heartbeat, but they don’t have them in my size. They only have it left in size 10, but I’m a size 6.

yes! in college you will need rainboots! especially if you’re walking A LOT (like me) and if you go to a school where there are pot holes EVERYWHERE you will most definitely need rain boots! and if, of course, it rains almost all the time you will most definitely need rain boots!
a lot of girls in my school opt for bright colors and obnoxious patterns/prints, but i went for a solid navy blue color. but it’s up to you! i like the army print boots because the colors are neutral.
guest
me no gusta for the army one, but the black one is fine.
guest
Not my style but it’s not too bad either.

I would try to find some in a solid colour. =\ Not a huge fan of the print. Looks kinda… trashy >_< Sorry.

@lohanzodiac06@xanga - Ooooh those black ones you just linked, those are really pretty.
I’d get those instead. It would be easier to match them and they don’t really look that much like rain boots.

Yes, you will not regret making the investment when you are treking across campus in the rain. trust me.
also, may I ask, where are you going to college? I go to college in Ohio as well (:
guest
try online or ask them if they have them on another nine west store.

if your day to day wardrobe is mostly feminine and girly (ie. flowery- flowing skirts, and pink!) then yes- wearing these boots with stuff like that would look super FAB!

@JustPlainMorgie@xanga - I’m gonna be a freshman at Ohio State University!
what about you?

@lohanzodiac06@xanga - i’ll be a sophomore at Ashland University. it’s really small so not many people have heard of it

the actual boot is cute, but not the pattern. try to get something that matches with a lot of clothes so the boots don’t look completely ridiculous with your outfits. i guess some people like patterens because they’re bright and fun, but i find that getting a solid colour in black, grey, or navy blue is better because they’ll never go out of style.
also, don’t get cheap rain boots. my first pair of rain boots were aldo and they cost 40 bucks (which i thought was a bit steep for plastic aldo shoes) and the back seam broke apart by spring break of my freshman year and all the water started coming into the boot. this time around, i invested in a pair of hunter boots. they cost $120 which is a lot, but they last for-fucking-everrr. lucky for me, i fit in children sizes, which are cheaper. you can look out for sales. i got my childrens’ hunter rain boots from gilt groupe for only $30. i think i could trust DKNY brand also. you found a good deal.

any colour but* camoflouge/ army
@evangeliaaa@xanga - Hunter rainboots =
like turquoise
I own a pair of yellow rainboots with flowers on the inside. I got many compliments on them.
Go for fun bold colours

noo..
I wish you could get the black ones

I go to college in a pretty wet area. Between snow and rain, there’s rarely sunshine. However, I still don’t own rainboots and only wore snowboots for a couple days. I had two pairs of sneakers, in case one of them got wet but that’s all I did. I won’t be investing in raindboots in my college career.
guest
Oh they are so nice minus the camo print.. do they have any other patterns at all?
This has got me thinking, and I too am going to college in Ohio, rain boots do sound like a good investment :p

I actually saw these in person a while back, they’re quite narrow so if you buy them, maybe go a size up or half a size.
