Just when I thought I’ve seen it all from Japan. Here is the hottest girlold man group, Showa Jidai, working it in their latest (cover) single, “Gee.”
The Japanese comedians, whose group name is a parody of the popular South Korean girl group, Girl’s Generation’s Japanese name, Shojo Jidai, do their best to imitate the girls. I must say, the old men have some killer moves, even doing the “crab” dance better than the originators. [via Reddit]
So Lovelies, do you think Showa outshine Shojo?

The Girls Generation video is so awesome, I can’t even begin to compare it to this.

I agree! their crab walk is better. they did more complex moves I think too. But I could be wrong! either way I like this one and the original

LMAO this was posted on akp but I was too lazy to watch it. Hmm, since it came up twice, I guess I have to watch it now!

well, the leader(main guy) in this Showa Jidai parody group is in fact the leader of Japan’s ‘national idol’ SMAP’s, Nakai Masahiro,, and he started his training and career at age 14…he’s 39 now, so it’s on purpose that the makeup made him looks so old^^
He often parody other groups and artists too…like Japan’s own famous Morning Musume~the entire SMAP group are super great in impersonation^^ and acting and stuff!

I’m so disturbed lol.

hahaha I saw that on the show (it’s called smapxsmap),
and the middle guy is one of the guys from a famous boy band group called Smap.

Girls generation is KPOP not JPOP. Korean is not the same as Japanese.

lol they were pretty good!

@AbstInEncEOfwOrds@xanga - I did not come up with the final title for this post, and I am well aware that Korean and Japanese are two different languages. But, this “Gee” version is in Japanese, released for the Japanese music industry, so it is considered JPOP.

Yeah but don’t label KPOP as JPop. Its impilcated through wording. Its not acknowledged that Girl’s generation is KPOP. Wording implies everything.

The title of an article is everything. It just really bothers me when it implies something else. Major pet peeve.

@AbstInEncEOfwOrds@xanga - I acknowledge that the title may be misleading, but the title of an article is not everything. The content is the most important. Anyone who bases an article just from the title are ignorant.
guest
@yvette - Actually, I think that @AbstInEncEOfwOrds@xanga is just making a logical assumption. That doesn’t seem ignorant at all. The title of an article is generally supposed to give you a clue about the article itself. Lovelyish doesn’t worry about that though.

This is too funny. Ahahaha.

Number one. Excuse me for calling me ignorant. A person is not an idiot for thinking a article title explains most of the article. I wrote and write for school publishings and I always try to make a title as descriptive and concise. So thank you for being spiteful.

@yvette - @AbstInEncEOfwOrds@xanga - My apologies, guys. I’m the one who wrote the title, without taking these factors into account. As such, please do not make personal attacks on Yvette for this. Thanks.

There was a Korean group of old men doing this too when the song came out :]

She’s the one calling me ignorant so I don’t know why its a personal attack against her when I’m stating free opinion. I thought that was allowed in the USA.

TOO CUTE!!!
