Katy Perry‘s sophomore album, Teenage Dream ($18.98 from Amazon), has made history on the Billboard charts, tying a record originally set by the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson.

Not only has Teenage Dream, which was released last year, sold almost two million copies, but it has spawned five No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. The only other album that has featured that many hit singles was MJ’s Bad album, back in 1987.

Katy’s last five No. 1s are: “California Gurls”, “Teenage Dream”, “Firework”, “E.T.” and most recently “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”. In addition to the title track, Bad included the hits “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You”, “The Way You Make Me Feel”, “Man in the Mirror” and “Dirty Diana”.

Just as remarkably, thanks to Teenage Dream, Katy Perry is now that only woman to have five No. 1s from a single album in the history of Billboard (take that, Lady Gaga).
