This may be the best idea ever: Parisian baker Jean-Louise Hecht has built a machine that “turns precooked bread into steaming baguettes.”
He was inspired to create the bread vending machine after customers constantly tracked him down and requested fresh bread after hours. Smaller bakeries around France have also begun closing as the French begin adopting “grab-and-go” lunch habits, like their American and British counterparts.
This is how the 24-hour baguette dispenser works:
The baguette dispenser has sold 1,600 baguettes the opening month in January, and 4,500 last month. Would you try a bread vending machine?

I like this idea. Now if only they would put Olive Garden breadsticks in vending machines.

Hmmm, that’s interesting. Is there a vending machine nearby with butter or cheese? I might buy one if the market/bakery is closed and I need a baguette.

And it’s capitalism hard at work.

Can we have one in Illinois? I would totally get bread from it (depend how much it is)

Cool idea. I’d liek to see it come in a paper bag though. All those people sticking their hands in there to grab their baguette. And yours fall down there too.

I love baguettes!

That’s Freaking Awesome. It’s Amazing What They’re Putting In Vending Machines Today, I Saw One The Other Day That Sold Live Bait For Fishing.
