This may be the best idea ever: Parisian baker Jean-Louise Hecht has built a machine that “turns precooked bread into steaming baguettes.”

He was inspired to create the bread vending machine after customers constantly tracked him down and requested fresh bread after hours. Smaller bakeries around France have also begun closing as the French begin adopting “grab-and-go” lunch habits, like their American and British counterparts.

This is how the 24-hour baguette dispenser works:

The baguette dispenser has sold 1,600 baguettes the opening month in January, and 4,500 last month. Would you try a bread vending machine?
