Blackberry, iPhone, or Android? Which do I pick?
I’ve had a Blackberry Tour for about on two years now and I do love it. I’m a little too addicted to BBM, and if I didn’t have my sorority e-mail connected to my phone, I’d probably never check it.
However, my phone just completely broke down on me. It laughed in my face right before it completely shut down, never to turn on again. Typical smart phone. Since then I’ve been using my cousin’s old Blackberry (she switched to the Droid) and I’m not really complaining.
I have an upgrade coming up in a few weeks and I’m stuck trying to figure out what I want to do. Do I stick with the Blackberry and get the Bold instead? Or do I switch to the iPhone or Droid? I’ve heard so many different reviews that I don’t know what to choose.
Some say the Droid is better because there are more apps and because the iPhone has a built-battery; once it goes, you have to get a whole new phone. Others say the iPhone is 100% the way to go. They say each phone is better for specific uses but the only difference I see is that Blackberrys are used more for professional reasons.
What do you think? What are your own experiences with either of these phones?

i love my iphone, the only thing i don’t like about it is the battery dies really fast.

depends what youre using it for, im going to dismiss the blackberry cause i have no exp with it. but between the other two, id say main thing is that iphone has better apps whilst the androids more versatile. id personally go with iphone because the apps are amazingg! but i suppose if youre tech saavy, go for the android, you can do a billion things with it.

I would definitely cut the blackberry out and try and pick between the Iphone and Android. Blackberry’s seem just a little too professional for me.

Whatever you do – DON’T DO BLACKBERRY.

Blackberry is mostly used for texting, messaging and less for the things android and the iphone can do.
Here’s for you highlighting the differences between the two. Link1,Link2
Also I think the reason why I like android is because it’s so customizable unlike the iphone or any other phone really. I think what it comes down is what do you want out of your phone? What do you wanna be able to do with it?
Also you discounted the Microsoft smart phone ;P

There aren’t too many great blackberrys out at the moment. If you want to pay the premium price get an iphone. But I would choose an android. Better pricing, better customization, some interesting new techs, just get a phone with a solid background. (FYI, BBM is coming out with an android app soon. =D)

i never had an Android.
i have a blackberry and although i absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE blackberry, but iphone just seem so much cooler… LOL with the games apps (but i have an itouch so…~ )
and I don’t really like touchscreen though. so many accessories for iphone though….!

Personally I have a Blackberry Torch but that’s only because of the cost. But then again, I am not really a techie kind of person so I only use my phone for calls, texts and FB so just about any new phone can handle that nowadays. My husband, on the other hand, have used both iPhone and Android phones, and he prefers the Android over the iPhone especially since at the time there was no handset protection for the iPhone and the home button totally just quit on him, it was going to cost over $100 to fix at the Apple store. He finds that the Android phone (HTC Evo) is really versatile and likes it a lot. Also, lots of apps are available now on Andriod phones. You might want to check out a friend’s phone, see if it’s something you can get used to before plunking down the cash.

Definitely Android. iPhone is worth it only if you jailbreak it.

Android is the way to go!
I’ll be honest: the iphones are cool and all and they have a large group of supporters. But I’ve found that when these iphone-fanatics really give android a chance they end up liking the andorid better.I have a droid X and this phone is absolutely the best. I think it’s a testament to how good it is when I jumped into the pool with it by accident (completely ruined because I actually swam for a bit before I realized) and instead of upgrading to a newer phone I refused and and went right back to the droid X.

I’ve had both a Blackberry (an old Curve) and an Android phone (Samsung Charge 4GLTE). After 2 days with the Android, I was 100% positive I would never, ever go back to the Blackberry. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my Blackberry while it lasted and strongly considered getting another one when it totally crapped out on me, but I went with the Android instead. Best. Decision. Ever.
As for the iPhone, my cousin has one. We did a speed test yesterday while we were hanging out… my Android was way faster. The iPhone is also much less customizable than the Android, if that sort of thing matters to you. The ONLY thing we saw that the iPhone had an edge over the Android was that it was easier to fully close out programs and thus to save your battery. But, with any smart phone, you still need to be smart about how you use your battery so I didn’t see that as a huge point for the iPhone.
In summary: Android wins.

I’ve had my HTC Evo for over a year now and still love it.

I’ve had a few Blackberries and I loved them except they all froze when I tried to send pictures. They would randomly freeze at other times too so I had to take the battery out all the time and they take forever to turn back on. I love how easy it is to text on them tho.
I’ve never had a driod, but my friend has one and the only thing I know about it is it takes really crappy pictures.
I just got an iPhone like a month ago and for the most part I love it. However, it pisses me off a lot because it auto-corrects my spelling and so I look like a dumbass when I don’t notice it and my message makes no sense. lol I love all the apps and that my music is right on my phone. I have Verizon and the internet browser is way better on the iPhone than it was on the Blackberry. I can do way more. It takes really good pictures too! Oh yeah, as far as I can tell you can’t customize your text ringtone
Which sucks! Its kind of a pain to get ringtones too.
That’s all I can think of… Hope I helped a little!

The iPhone is wonderful. I have no experience with Droids, and I’ve heard that Blackberrys are terrible.

I would cut out the Blackberry completely. They just haven’t kept up with the other phones.
The iPhone vs. Android debate is a lot like the Mac vs. PC debate. In fact, that’s a pretty good indication of which one you should get. If you use PCs, you’ll probably like an Android better. If you’re a Mac user, you’ll almost certainly prefer an iPhone.
Androids aren’t as expensive as iPhones, and they tend to be more cutomizable, much like PCs. They also integrate very well with Google, so if you use GMail for everything, an Android will fit better with your lifestyle. Android batteries tend to last longer too. If it’s any indication, Android is the most popular format right now and the fastest growing one.
iPhones are more stable than Androids, and they have many more apps. Their lack of customizability can actually be an advantage since this makes them easier to use. They also has better integration with most Apple applications, such as iTunes.
I prefer the Android overall, but I honestly don’t think that you can go wrong with either an Android or an iPhone.

I would never even consider an iPhone. Everyone and their cat has one, and there’s just nothing about them which appeals to me.

I love my iPhone. I’ve never had a problem with it, while my friends with Blackberries and Androids are constantly complaining about their phones breaking down. Also, the iPhone makes my life so much easier. There are so many apps that help me organize my life and keep my shit straight. I love it. (:

iPhone! What I love best about it is Facetime. Facetime is free and you can video chat with anybody who has a itouch, macbook or iphone. Just be in a wifi spot!

Keep in mind the Iphone5 is set to come out

i loved my droid. it was just as fun as my ipod touch, but i could also use it to connect my laptop to the internet using an app called easytether, i think. but it died and just after the warranty, too. i’m getting by, well more than getting by with an old blackberry, which is much more useful than i thought initially. i’m trying to bide my time before getting a white iphone 4 when my contract is up.

the iphone battery shoudn’t be a problem. i’ve had my iphone (love it!) for over 3 years, and my battery is just fine. and really, who keeps their phone for much longer than that?

DDDDRRRROOOOIIIIIDDDDD.
I would never, ever get any other phone. For the rest of my life. I’m dedicated to Droid. I got the original first one right when it came out. I’ve had it since. When this phone finally dies (most phones last me about 8 months before I break them due work-related things – I’ve had the original droid for 2 years), I will be upgrading to the Droid 3 (which just came out last month) or whatever newer version is available.
You literally couldn’t PAY me to get a phone that wasn’t a Droid. Nope. No thanks. LOVE IT.

I have a BlackBerry Bold right now…and I hate it. It’s my second one…it freezes, it doesn’t let me get calls or texts (sometimes, it sends me texts in Chinese. I am not Chinese.) I have an iPod touch and all I want in the world, is to sell them both and get an iPhone 4.

I love my Android. Everyone at my school is always complaining about the Blackberry bbm freezing every couple of minutes and about their iPhone’s batteries dying way too quickly.
My phone’s frozen once or twice since I got it, there’s a TON of apps, and you can get PingChat or WhatsApp to talk with people who have BBs or iPhones

I have an Android and loooove it.

depends on what you want.
i love my blackberry because it meets my basic requirements, and i’m a big txter and don’t care too much about apps and hi-speed browsing.
i would definitely choose an android over an iphone. iphones are seriously overrated and the android can do the same things iphones can do and even more.

Droid definitely does not have more apps than the Iphone… one of the cons of the droid is the limited market it has compared to the apple market.
It just depends on what you are going to do with the phone. With the droid, you can customize it more and have more control over how it functions. IF you want top games (well you have to pay though) and don’t really care about customizing your phone, you can never go wrong with the Iphone.I have a droid right now and I love it, but I think i would recommend the iphone (especially since iphone 5 is going to come out soon) since you get access to more apps, and it has a good camera.

I’m actually anxiously awaiting my new Android phone I ordered from Verizon. I currently have a Blackberry Curve, and I really do like it; it works for everything I need it to and I like the hard keyboard (not sure how I’ll do with the touch screen). The reason I decided to get a new phone was because we are paying $30 a month for the mandatory unlimited Blackberry data plan, but there are so few apps that I barely use data at all…so it was kind of a waste of $30/month to have unlimited data when I wasn’t using it, so I decided to upgrade so I could get full use of it.

I don’t know about the amount of apps, seeing as there’s no way for me to compare with only the iPhone, but I’ve never come across something I wanted that I couldn’t find, and even moreso, something that I couldn’t find for free – even if it’s a limited version. As far as the battery on the iPhone. I had my first one for almost 3 years and the battery never died. I could tell at the end it started loosing charge must faster, but even after that long, it still worked just fine. Also, if and when the battery dies, within 1 year, you are automatically covered and they will straight up replace it. You can extend that to a 2 year warranty for like $50 I think, and you can literally walk into the Apple store with nearly anything wrong, and they will replace it free.
I love my iPhone, but you also have to consider AT&T vs Verizon. I have AT&T and my roommate has the iPhone on Verizon. I don’t know that there are any differences in the actual phone, but I know she didn’t have the option for an extended warranty, and she had to pay for insurance as if it were any other phone (which, from the sounds of it, is far more expensive). That’d be something to consider also – I don’t know if you are willing to switch providers, or who you have, just saying, they are slightly different.
I have no experience with Blackberry or Droid, just saying what I know about the iPhone!!

Sounds like BB is the way to go – for you.
Personally, I don’t want one. I know lots of people who have them, and I’m pretty sure they all love them. But it’s just not for me. Although I would get a BB over an iPhone any day. I hate them with a passion. I LOVE my Android phone though. It’s my second HTC phone, the first to run on Android, and I won’t look back now. It’s not perfect, and there are a few features I wish it had that I’ve seen on many newer phones, but I love Android for sure. My next upgrade will definitely be to another Android!

Blackberry! I’m definitely a Crackberry addict…I love having my email, texts, calls, internet, etc. right there. It’s easier to type on than the touchscreen iPhone, and it’s smaller and (IMO) prettier.

If you want the best of both worlds, get an iPod Touch to satisfy your iPhone curiosities (well, it won’t have a phone in it), and then a Droid on the side. iPhone’s come in iPhone 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. – Droid’s come in all types of brands, sizes, features, etc; Droid isn’t just limited to “the” Motorola Droid phones.
Additionally, the idea of having a Blackberry for messaging purposes just makes me laugh. The buttons are so damn tiny, it’s moot.

I have a Blackberry now, piece of garbage. If you like Blackberries then whatever that’s cool for you but in no way will Blackberry ever compete with iPhones or Android phones so if you’re really looking for the best then scrap the Blackberry idea right now. As for between iPhones and Androids I’m pretty sure that Androids are better but that doesn’t stop me from wanting an iPhone more than anything.

I have an Android phone, but I prefer iPhone more
Android/iPhone interface are essentially the same thing to a normal user.
The differences would be that there’s more app support on iPhone vs Android. But for Android, you can get apps for free without jail breaking..
I’d go with iPhone if you want to be in with the new.. And also, statistically speaking, people with iPhones get laid more often.

I have had all 3 phones. Blackberry comes in 3rd just because it doesn’t have a large app market and the touchscreens are more pressurized than heat sensitive. I also noticed a lot of glitching stuff with them. Droids are faster than the iphone3, the app market has more apps, but there is no controlling administration so anyone can create an app and it goes into the market without knowing what it does, if it’s good or not. The app market is smaller than the iphone market. I do not like the droid because I find the functionality to be a cheap knock off of the iphone. It’s hard to navigate, It also has a lot of crap apps which you cannot delete and run in the background draining your battery. The only way to remove them is to root your phone which is basically a jailbreak. However, if you do it wrong, you have just bricked your phone. I have a jailbroken iphone. i get any app I want for free, I can customize my screen how I want to, and I can get a different carrier. So if someone wants to complain about ATT and Verizon, you can get an iphone for t-mobile, you just gotta jail break it. I like the app market, never have had a problem with a push notification or getting any notificiation for that matter and you can add any email account that you want. I would go for the iphone personally.
