Lovelies, I need your help AMPing up my iPod for working out. I lots of songs on my iPod, but a lot of them get old quickly. Help!
I’ve recently gotten really into running. I got some new running shoes and some great workout clothes. However, I cannot run without my iPod. And although I’ve been making do with the songs I have, I’m getting sick of listening to the same 4 or 5 songs over and over again. I need some new suggestions, old or new music, to help jazz up my workout playlist!
What are some of your favorite songs to work out to?

So for me the best for working-out are Lady Gaga’s songs and… AC/DC. (great mix, I know).

I work out to vocal trance, haha.

Believe it or not, upbeat gospel is excellent to work out to. Israel and New Breed is one of my favorites.
Besides that, N Sync, Backstreet Boys, and Lady Gaga are my favorites!

I absolutely cannot work out if I don’t have music. It motivates me like nothing else can. Lately my playlists consist of Led Zeppelin, Avenged Sevenfold, the Deftones, Bullet for my Valentine, Nine Inch Nails, and Rage Against the Machine. Rage Against the Machine has some AWESOME workout tunes, especially on the Battle of Los Angeles album.

If you’ve ever seen the Rocky movies, I’d suggest those songs.
Bill Conti – Gonna Fly Now
John Cafferty – Hearts On Fire
Vince DiCola – Training Montage
Rocky – Redemption
Robert Tepper – No Easy Way Out
Survivor – Eye Of The Tiger
Even just watching the music videos from Rocky is a good motivator.

I listen to A LOT of Queen when I run or exercise. Songs like: Can’t Stop Me Now, We Will Rock You, Bohemian Rhapsody, I Want to Break Free, Another One Bites the Dust and many others. Believe me, they will get you running and they will make you want to keep running. Try some remixes of songs like DJ Earworm- United State of Pop 2009 (Blame It on the Pop), it’s a little slow in the beginning but it speeds up. Lady Gaga has great songs to exercise to and LMFAO has great workout songs. Oh and here’s a song that a lot of people don’t like because they think it’s demeaning towards women but it really gets my workout going and well, I’m a big Kanye fan so of course I have this song on my iPod, The New Workout Plan. Good luck!!

I love hip hop songs solely for the purpose of running. Plus, half the time I don’t know what they’re saying so I don’t feel the need to sing along, a problem I definitely have when I run to pop music

Stronger -Kanye West
Out Here Grinding -DJ Kahled

I think it really depends on what kind of songs motivates you to work harder or continue running without giving up. Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Rihanna and Ke$ha are some of my favorites in my running playlist. I do have some old songs from Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys too.

I think anything upbeat by 2pm or Girls’ Generation. They certainly have those upbeat songs.

I simply make playlists composed of the most upbeat, quick-paced songs I own. I’m not into pop music, so I have Lincoln Park, Mute Math, Muse, 30 Seconds to Mars, Blue October, Meatloaf, Styx, Queen, Emery, Project 86, 10 Years…just a random mix. I find that using my favorite music for workout paylists is best.

Tech Itch. Any of them.

Crystal Castles, Sleigh Bells, Breaking Benjamin, Rise Against, Relient K, Evanescence, Flyleaf, and honestly, even some show tunes like Spring Awakening, American Idiot (yes, the Green Day show) and Next to Normal.

Not to sound like a jerk, but one could probably learn to be motivated without music. The more conditions a person has the more complicated it gets.

I don’t have a gym membership anymore, but when I used to go I would bring my music to tune out the other distractions! haha…
I sometimes found that if i did NOT have music then people were more likely to try and socialize or start up a conversation.
Didn’t always happen, but the headphones help to avoid it more.
The gym i went to also had a headphone jack on some of the cardio machines (treadmills, bikes etc) so you could listen to their music stations or tune in and listen to what was playing on the TV.
I used to sometimes arrange to go to the gym during my favorite daytime shows so that i could workout while watching lol
