This is definitely in poor taste. The original idea was probably meant to be a joke, but regardless it’s still in poor taste. 

What is wrong with people? Finding amusement in other people’s sorrowful lives. It’s really sad to see how cruel and selfish people are today.

Oh man, this is rather horrifying.

I think it’s sad but I’d be pretty happy if I was the one that won the iPod.

That is fucking sick.  Incidents like this prove that society has not really advanced since the days of watching people murder each other or get ripped apart by lions in a coliseum.  The difference is that now we sit in our homes online instead of in the stands as we taunt people or sit there totally indifferent while they are destroyed psychologically by the media rather than physically by human or animal opponents.  It’s disgusting.

Get over yourselves. How many times have any of you made jokes about Michael Jackson, John Kerry, George Bush, or any other famous person, in bad taste? Just because they are dead we are supposed to martyr them and celebrate them? Why lie to ourselves? You can’t make fun one day, and pretend to be sad the next.

Tasteless. I wonder who else is in their death pool? Lohan?

The real question is… how does that woman feel?  Was she excited that she won her iPod?  I dunno about her, but I’d feel guilty for “winning” it. 

In four years her ipod is going to stop working.

TheVoiceofReason-  I completely agree with you. So many people didnt care about MJ or Amy Winehouse until they died and then they are suddenly martyrs. People care more about a celebrity who brought their death upon themselves than soldiers that get killed and real world issues.

Although her fate was extremely sad, death isn’t anything to shy away from considering it’s a part of life. I mean, can anyone honestly tell me that they didn’t see Winehouse’s death coming with the way she lived her life?

It was a death pool. When famous people are getting very old, or are very sick, or looking in general bad shape because of their lifestyle like Amy was, people make death pools. I just see it as another form of gambling. Really, it’s only tasteless if you consider all death pools tasteless. Which is probably likely and understandable.

it’s as awful as people making joke about her. it’s incredible. 

Everybody knew that she was on a very destructive path and that there was a possibility she would die young. Cracking jokes about it isn’t exactly tasteful but rewarding someone because of it is very shitty.

Those people should go predict the day of their own deaths. Let see how well they do.

Let’s be honest, that website is probably not the first to crassly discuss her demise. People commonly talk about her and her situation, but there would be one person who would always have to take it further. It’s wack, it sucks, but it was inevitable.

I think all four of them should’ve gotten an ipod! Sucks to be those other three. “Welllll, you got it rightt…. Buutttt, ya just weren’t quick enough.”

This is the best thing that I’ve ever read. 

I’m gonna go against ya’ll and say that while it was kinda mean, think about why.  Since 2007 she has been in an utter state of ridiculousness where her demise was imminent.  That says something about her.  A lot about her actually.  I continue to be apathetic about her passing, and sympathetic towards her family.  She had it coming.  Period.

And people should stop pretending to be disgusted because you ALL know Amy had every chance and opportunity to turn her life around, and she ignored it just to dive deeper.  

It’s a fact that we’re all gonna die. Betting on the day is a little morbid.
