I was always under the impression that NOT drinking copious amounts of wine everyday is healthier than drowning all your sorrows in a large bottle of the stuff. But according to Fox News, not drinking is what Amy’s family believe caused her death.
One source says that Amy’s doctor had told her she should begin to quit drinking gradually. Amy told him that it was all or nothing, and quit completely cold turkey. Her family believes that the shock of such a quick withdrawal caused her to have a fatal seizure.
Plausible enough.
However, other sources claim that Winehouse was seen drinking heavily at a music festival in London days before her death. There are even some reports that the singer was on a three day binge, and it was the overdose that killed her.
Also plausible.
So which is the true story? Amy’s father stuck to his story of withdrawal shock when he spoke at her funeral. The toxicology reports that will give cause of death will not be public for up to 4 weeks. Who knows what really happened?
Which story do you believe?

I rarely take things very seriously or as absolute truth when they come from Fox News. There have got to be thousands of rumours circulating around. I don’t know what to think until the official cause of death is released. All I know is that I think it’s an early and unfortunate death that may (or may not) have been preventable.

Both are plausible. That can happen if you’re heavily addicted to alcohol and quit cold turkey. It’s easy to say what seems the most plausible, but no one will know until the toxicology reports come back. ‘
I hope that, regardless of the results, Amy will still be remember for her music and not her demons.

Why would I believe any story without any toxicology? Everything is speculation until then. Both are perfectly plausible but perhaps neither is true. And, alcohol withdraw is downright deadly. Detox should be done in the hospital.

It doesn’t matter what story we believe. I’ll believe the truth when the toxicology report comes out. Stop perpetuating trashy gossip.

That’s real interesting & all but: toxicology report please.

I don’t believe either story, really, I mean, it’s the TRUTH that matters, and since these are just saying what people ‘think’ happened, that doesn’t make either of them true..
I’m not trying to judge this woman, I don’t even know her and people need to lay off that kind of stuff!
SHE’S DEAD, leave her the hell alone!

Both sound believable…….but I’m with everyone else. I want the official toxicology results.

We see it everyday at the hospital. People detoxing are actually often sent to the ICU. DT-ing can be very fatal if you’re a heavy drinker and not being monitored properly (and even if you are!). Seizures is just one of the awful side effects of withdrawal… tremors, hallucinations… It’s rough.

So all I’m saying is that both are equally plausible (coming from someone who hasn’t read anything but this blog post about her death… to be fair)

I think everyone wants the toxicology results. I’m not saying it couldn’t have been the severe withdrawal, but to be honest, I think it’s just a case of a father wanting to believe the best of his daughter.

Why are people even bothering to care until the proof is available?

All Amy Winehouse speculation posts should be re-titled “How can we profit from her death?” Oh yeah, write posts that say nothing definitive because you know she’s a hot topic and people will want to read it anyways, even though they say nothing and probably just stress her family out more. Sigh

Both are plausible, but let’s wait for the official reports.
