Today in NOT service-y, Spanx has come out with an activewear line that is “super comfortable and super effective.” Huffing and puffing as sweat seeps into the overpriced Elastane that’s suffocating my thighs? WHERE DO I SIGN.
You can pick from items like the “shaping compression shorts,” $68 (above), or the hourglass racerback, also $68:
Don’t worry, there are some pants for $118 if you want to drop triple digits! And also, Spanx socks, to help tame those embarrassing foot muffin tops. I know that’s what I think about at the gym. [via Jezebel]

I want to know if anyone my age actually uses Spanx, because the only people I know who use it are older women : )

Spanx for the gym, ironic much? Considering the reasons people typically work out for.

Hahaha the most hated dean in high school couldve really used those spanx socks. Though not a bad idea generally, I would go to the gym so I could AVOID wearing Spanx at a later date and time haha…in fact I should get off Xanga and get to the gym.

WANT. Right now, I use my bike shorts for exercising, because they’re the right length, they don’t ride up on the legs or down on the waist, they’re extremely comfortable, and, most importantly, they conceal and compress the extra skin on my abdomen really well. In a world where the vast majority of pants and shorts I find are aggravatingly low-rise, it’s hard to find bottoms that work for my body. And, because what I currently wear are padded bike shorts, I kind of feel silly sometimes. I try to wear a long workout shirt to cover my ass as much as I can. Fortunately, I generally have no shame, so I wear them no matter what.

I don’t like working out in something skin tight. But one good thing about this is if you happen to be moving around a lot (because, I mean, you’re at the gym….) you don’t need to worry about what your clothes might be doing while you’re not looking.

Spanx for the gym? Really??

I’m glad this post was written sarcastically (I hope) because I was going to leave a comment on how ridiculous it is to feel that you need spanx while at the gym.
