I, for one, love the whole hippie, wavy hair, headband across the forehead look. There’s something about it that just screams “summer.”

I’ve always seen girls wear braided headbands over their foreheads and I’ve always wondered how they did it. Yea, they sell pre-made braided headbands you can just pull over your head, but I like that all natural stuff. After some experimenting, I finally figured it out.

First I sectioned off the top layer of my hair (about an inch above my ear) and put it up in a clip. If you have bangs you can leave them down. Then I took a small section of hair (a little less than an inch) on the left side of my head, right below the top layer. You don’t want the section to be too far back. My section was a little less than an inch but you can take more or less depending on how big you want your braid.

Next, I braided that section all the way down to the bottom.

Then you simply take the braid and swing it over your forehead to the other side of your head and fasten it with a couple bobby-pins (I used two). If you have bangs you can put the braid over them or under. As you can see in my pictures, at first I put the braid over my bangs but since they’re an awkward length (trying to grow them out) I decided to put them under instead.

I only like one braid myself, so if you do too you can stop here and take your hair out of the clip. However, if you like the double braid, grab another small section (the same size as your first) and repeat the same steps. When you do grab the section, make sure it’s a little lower then your first braid since it’s going below.

Once you secure that braid on the other side, you can take down your hair, and voila! You have a natural double braid headband look without the headband.

What do you think of the double headband look, Lovelies?
