Charlize Theron completely transformed herself into one of the ugliest people on earth for her role in Monster.  This is Vanessa’s career.  Maybe she really wants to portray her character to the best of her ability.  You shouldn’t be so judgmental.  It’s just a hair cut.

I don’t think the short hair would look as bad on her if she styled it differently. It just looks quite messy in the picture with Hayden.

I think she looks good either way. Mind you, I’m not a huge fan of hers, but I like the short cut. Yes, the second picture may not be as flattering, but it’s for her job, give her a break.

Btw, I live in Ithaca too, and am going to be studying nutrition too

In the pic with Hayden it looks cute.  In the other one, it looks greasy and she’s wearing baggy clothes and no makeup and making a weird candid-photo-face, so of COURSE that pic looks bad.  Give the girl a break, jeez.  I think it has major potential.

She looks like Johnny Depp in the last photo. Just saying.

I’m not a fan of short hair but other than the fact she looks a lot older it doesn’t look too bad.

I kinda like it, it makes her look less typical, which in turn makes her more attractive to me.  I didn’t really care for her before, but with this cut, I’d look twice.

I think it looks good on her.  She doesn’t look 40 in her picture.  If she looks 40, so does Hayden b/c they look the same age.

I love how she was able to transform herself for whatever role she is playing. It doesn’t look like some smeared dirt and oil on Vanessa Hudgens to play a character.  She is convincing.

We should judge her when there is a better picture of her.

It’s not the shortness of her hair it’s the way it’s being styled. She has a good face for short or long hair.

I actually like it on her when it’s styled. It’s not too short…it’s really not a pixie cut at all. 

It looks so bad.  I mean, I guess if it’s for a role, but she couldn’t have gotten a better cut, or better style?

It looks pretty bad to me, in all pictures. But maybe it’s just the way they styled it? Eh I don’t know. It could have some potential.

it would look better if it was styled differently. the bottom picture doesn’t count because that’s for her role. but i’m ehhh about it. we’ll all probably grow to like it once we see more pictures. but for now i’m not a fan.

I think she looks cute with short hair. That last pic is another story altogether, but it’s not because of her haircut. And the one above that looks just fine to me.

I love her long hair, but hey, she’s doing what she has to for a job. More power to her.

I actually like the short hair in the first picture better than her long hair. I think it really works with her facial structure.

and of course the last picture looks awful, but if she had longer hair in that picture, she would look just as bad.

It’s FINE. People need to stop obsessing over the way women choose to wear their hair.

umm the last picture isn’t just her walking around with no makeup, thats her in costume on the set of the film, where she plays a homeless teenager. when she’s not on set, i think the cut looks really good

The haircut is just for a movie, let’s not make a big deal!  For Vanessa as Vanessa, I think long hair is pretty on her.  And it’s just hair, it’ll grow back.

Not a fan, but not a hater. If she did it for a movie role, then I guess it worked because she looks really different.

Her face has so many dimples in it, and her face is pretty round. I think the short hair brings attention to that.

I hate how every frickin’ person is getting a pixie cut now. I mean, I have it right now but I know I can pull it off. I hate how every other person think they can pull it off though & can’t… (This doesn’t apply to everyone, of course)

Like you said, it’s for a role for a movie, so I don’t really think there is any need to bash her for it.
I think it just makes her a dedicated actress.  They’re not always going to play roles that are going to make them look flattering, or play roles that are just like their personality in real life.  That’s what acting is.  And plus, she is playing a homeless girl. Do all homeless girls look like that? No, but it does send the message that when you’re homeless looks don’t become a number one priority on the list of things to worry about, it becomes less important because you’re just trying to survive.

Well, that’s certainly not the most flattering cut but if it’s for a role, then it’s what she has to do for her job. It’s a GOOD thing not to look like Vanessa Hudgens when she’s in a particular movie. It’s about her ROLE and how well she can represent someone ELSE. 

I really like the haircut, I have been contemplating for the last two weeks on getting a pixie cut! But as many have said before, it is just hair, it grows back eventually and most of all its about having confidence in yourself about being able to pull something off such as a pixie cut.

It’s their jobs as actors to change their looks/appearances for their upcoming roles. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be believable at all. They do it to sell the movies as the characters. That’s just their job. 

I can’t wait for this trend of hot girls wanting to look like guys to be over.

Uh, is the movie titled “Vanessa Hudgens: The Life Story” ? I’m pretty sure an actor’s job is portray all different walks of life, not play the role of themselves. Of course movies that do require her to play herself are a different story, but are you seriously under the impression that actors should look like themselves in movies? Isn’t the movie about a homeless teenager anyway? Does Vanessa Hudgens look like a homeless teenager to you?

The second picture looks like it’s her in character, so we can’t accurately judge that.  But by the first, I don’t think it’s very flattering.

I’m not a fan of her’s,  but I always thought she looked pretty with long hair. I don’t think she looks cute at all with short hair. Its cool that she was willing to chop it off for a role tho.

Uhm, that’s not what I’d consider a pixie cut.

She just looks more mature… and I think change is good. it probably felt nice to chop it all off, especially since it’s summer. I would chop mine off if I wasn’t so attached & if my sister’s wedding wasn’t in a month and a half.

she’s not suppose to look like herself… she’s playing a role, and you’re suppose to portray the character. that’s what actors and actresses do.. they transform themselves into different roles and become people they’re not.

Do your homework. That last photo is a scene from her movie in which she plays a pregnant teenager. That look is part of the character. D’uh.
