Holy crap! Daily Mail reports that a 17 year old boy passed out on railroad tracks in Iowa, and somehow got away with only a few cuts and bruises after a freight train ran over him.
The guy admitted to have been drinking heavily at a local music concert, and only woke up as the train was passing over him. That’s not terrifying or anything.
Conductors on the train said they were moving at full speed when they saw something in between the tracks. They pulled the brakes as soon as they realized it was a person, but the front car still ran over the young man. Although he survived, he may be charged with public intoxication, and drinking as a minor.
How stupid is he? I wonder if he’ll ever get that drunk again?

He’s fucking lucky and he better think twice before drinking so recklessly again.

LOLOLOL He got ran over by a train and they still want to charge him? laaaaaame
guest
I personally think he’ll do it again, I live in the same area as this kid and all of those high schoolers follow the same tricks time and time again. He was lucky to live!
guest
My fingers are trying not to type curse words about how utterly stupid that child is.

He probably learnt nothing from that..and will do it again and something awful will just happen again.

see, drinking has its advantages.

This is why I have no respect for people who drink, because they all claim to be smart about it and whatnot and then they find themselves passed out on a train track
guest
Seems like something that my friends would do. Sigh.

Wow, hes super lucky, just a few weeks ago someone here in my state got drunk & ran over, but he wasnt as lucky he died. But if I was him, Id probably never drink again.
guest
oh dear, oh deary dear.

it’s a pity, really. in this case, i was rooting for natural selection. anyone dumb enough to get drunk and pass out on train tracks should be removed from the gene pool.
guest
DAMN! That had to be so scary!!!! Lol.

I’m pretty sure he learned nothing from that because of the fact that absolutely nothing bad happened.
@pikaaa - Whoa… just because one stupid kid doesn’t know how to drink and how much he can tolerate does not automatically mean that EVERYONE who drinks, drinks the way this kid does.

@not3000@xanga - Yeah I know, I worded it pretty badly haha. But I still don’t have too much sympathy for him!

Shiiiit.

He probably won’t do it again, but if he does manage to make it to an age to procreate, it will be a good story for the grandkids lol

WOW! This amazes me…

Lol I doubt he’ll slow down on drinking or something… if anything, this situation has probably made him think that he’s invincible.

True story…the same thing happened to my uncle. He got drunk and landed in front of a train. My dad found out about it because his coworkers were talking about an article they saw online and it just so happened to be his estranged brother-in-law…Dunno or really care if he is still alive now, though.

Idk. a really really ignorant guy from my old highschool who constantly boozes recently totaled his car and had terrible head and spinal damage. I cringe when I hear him say stuff like “BRO LETS GET FUCKED UP TONIGHT” I’m here, thinkin: YOU ALMOST DIED..
guest
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.
guest
It’s weird how someone didn’t die and people are clucking about how he most likely didn’t learn anything from it. What the fuck?
guest
He lived, but yet people are saying he didn’t learn anything. Maybe he didn’t, but if he had died he wouldn’t have learned anything from it either.

WELL, I’m glad he lived. Despite his choices still a fan of his human life but uh.

There is quiet a difference between drinking “smart” and drinking “stupid”. It’s perfectly okay to go out with friends, have a few beers and then safely go home either with a DD, walk or take a taxi. However, this boy was definitely drinking “stupid”. If you’ve drank so much that you don’t even realize where you’re falling asleep (especially when you’re ON a train track) then you obviously have a problem. This boy, considering since he’s underage, obviously doesn’t have a very good home life or a good support system looking out for him. His parents, if they cared, would have known where he was and what was going on. His friends also should have been looking out for him. If someone chooses to drink “stupid” then they have to rely on the people around them to look out for them… and obviously nobody else was. This boy is LUCKY AS HELL that he didn’t die and hopefully this changes his mind about drinking. Hopefully from now on he drinks “smart”!!!

Wow, we got some hatin’-ass people up in here. I’m not a fan of stupidity but I’m also not a fan of death by train, geez. I hope this experience is a wake-up call for him to change his drinking habits, because that’s a REALLY BIG sign you have a major problem.
This story makes me proud to be an Iowan! The only time we make the news is for weird shit like this, or catastrophic flooding/tornadoes. Great.

So Not Funny…My Best Friend Did That And Actually Died…

Darwin Awardee runner up! He got lucky this time. Wonder if he’ll stop drinking now?
guest
@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga - I wonder if they give tickets to people who try to commit suicide but fail.
guest
I think it would either go from one extreme or the next.
Either he will never drink again.
Or he’ll continue to drink or partake in even more dangerous activities.
he was run over by a train and walked away with some cuts….
He may be feeling pretty invincible right about now…
guest
I hope he’ll develop a newfound appreciation for life and take better care of himself.
guest
WOW.
guest
Where were his friends?! Why would someone allow someone to walk anywhere by themselves at night?!
guest
@monkie_dance@xanga - yep.
guest
That’s what he gets. I wish he would have been more severely hurt because then that probably would have taught him a lesson about underage drinking.
guest
@theflowerstem@xanga - Especially when Drunk.
