According to SELF Magazine, these are four very popular summer drinks that can really pack on the pounds without you even thinking about it. And, I’m guilty of drinking 3 out of 4 of these drinks very often…
1. Frappuccino- The 24-ounce Mint Mocha Chip Frappuccino has 590 calories and 22 grams of fat! During the school year, Frappuccinos are like my kryptonite. I splurge on the regular ones, but when I’m feeling a bit “healthier,” I simply order the Frappuccino “light,” and it reduces it to almost half the calories of the regular. PLUS, did you know that the whipped cream put on a Starbucks drink is equivalent to the calories in 7 pieces of bacon?!
2. Daiquiris, Pina Coladas and other blended alcoholic concoctions. A daiquiri is equivalent to 305 calories of basically all sugar. However, if you get a bigger size, such as a 12 or 16 oz drink, then it can add up to 800 calories! Yikes!
3. Long Island Iced Tea. An average of 520 calories if you use an at-home mixer, but at a restaurant they are probably more!
4. Dunkin’ Donuts Strawberry Banana Smoothie. This healthy sounding drink weighs in at a whopping 700 calories. You can probably eat at least 3 donuts instead of that smoothie.

Hmm. Thankfully, I don’t drink this stuff. My drink of choice during the summer is a nice, cold glass of homemade lemonade.

i’m drinking a frappucino while reading this and not feeling the least bit guilty. I don’t drink them all the time, so guess what? I’m not going to care how bad it is for me! I have a decently fast metabolism, thank goodness.

i usually stick with water.
starbucks are usually VERY fattening. no matter the season i guess except if you take a normal coffee or something.
and not to mention so expensive….

Holy crap, I had no idea that Starbucks’ whipped cream was so awful! I do love my mocha coconut frappuccunios every once in a while, but I think I’ll at least ask for no whipped cream from now on…

dude. i just left the gym and got a frap after. lol. bUT i got a coffee frap light without whip cream sooooooo ya. lol. i think the chart said its like 140 calories so whatever. i walk that shit off. =P

I go to Starbucks two or three times per semester, mainly because it’s so expensive… but when it’s hot, I order the White Mocha Frappuccino with lactose-free milk (as that’s the one I’m used to) and no whipped cream… because it just grosses me out.
The rest of these drinks I never have… but boy, do I drink a LOT of coca-cola… I don’t mind, though. That’s what exercise is for.

I’m typically very calorie conscious when it comes to beverages; I’d rather spend my calories on food. I typically drink water or herbal tea (with truvia- a NATURAL no calorie sweetner !!)
However, I do indulge quite often on alcoholic beverages. If you’re drinking alcohol, no matter what it’s mixed with, the calories will add up quickly. I’m a sucker for a good buzz!

Woo I don’t drink any of those things. Glad alcohol was on the list I was gonna complain if it wasn’t heh. I don’t think my diet changes at all between normal everyday and summertime. I think the most fattening drink I drink is the occasional soda.

I do love frappuccino’s! I don’t get them often, so I usually splurge. But, I have gotten the light version. Definitely a good option if you get them all the time.

This is why there are so many obese people out there.
The drinks on this list are OBVIOUSLY fattening. You don’t have to tell me calories or grams of fat for me touse my brain and figure out that these drinks are not good for me.My summer drinks? Water, unsweetened iced tea,hot coffee (no fancy frapps for me), and the OCCASIONALsoda (which by the way, is bad for us too).

I wonder how many calories a homemade smoothie has? I just made one with about 1/2 cup fruit, 1/2 strawberry yogurt milk and ice. it was super yummy. almost as good as DD or OJ

Long Islands were always my drink of choice because you get a lot of alcohol for your buck, but after I looked up the calories, I haven’t ordered one in months. Same with white russians. So now I only get Jack and diet coke or gin and club soda. The Jack is tasty, the gin and club is not for the faint of heart or sensitive taste buds, let’s put it that way. But if you bring your own lime juice you can add some flavor and take the edge off.

Even though I don’t do it very often, when I made up my mind to lose weight, it was a RUDE awakening seeing how many calories are in a shot. I knew it was bad but not that bad, lol.

I don’t give a fuck about calories when it comes to anything. If I want to eat it, drink it or whatever else, I’m having it. Though, honestly, I don’t have any of the stuff on this list, mainly due to taste and the fact that I cannot consume alcohol.
