See…the thing about makeup is that the only time you look bad without it is when someone is used to seeing you with it because of the comparison.  That would be why I only wear eyeshadow.

I’m so proud of you ladies. Each of you is unique and beautiful. It’s amazing to see how diverse the Lovelyish team is.

Lovely.    I think a makeup fast is a nice idea at times.  I realize that many women often believe that makeup is a sign of professionalism/showing you care/helps boost confidence, and I think those things can be important, but I find it empowering to go au naturale.  It shows a comfort in your own skin.  Last year, I gave myself a challenge to teach my classes without makeup for one week.  Everyone should try it at least once!

ETA:  OK.  I thought I was imagining things, until I read some of the other comments.  No make-up does mean no eye-liner or mascara.  Kudos, to the ones who were actually bare faced.

We’re all bare-faced, guys! Some of it is facial coloring. For example, my eyelids are kind of dark, which makes it look like I might be wearing eye shadow, but I’m not.

Y’all look great! And I of course have a question: Is beauty more valid if it’s done without enhancement? Does it matter? Should we be dismissive if something or someone is beautiful because they’ve had some kind of work done? And if so, where is the line between “natural” beauty that results from taking care of oneself and enhancement?

fantastic. Thanks for doing this. People need a reality check. I wear a small amount of eye makeup and that’s it. Screw anything else.

@Jessica - Uh, no. In your picture it’s clear you’re not wearing makeup. In a few of the other ones, most obviously Nicole’s, there is definitely eyeliner.
