After Demi Lovato left rehab, she became a contributing editor for Seventeen magazine in hopes of helping girls with similar problems. In the process, she found solace in the inspiring mantra, “Love is louder than the pressure to be perfect,” created by actress Brittany Snow and the JED Foundation.
Here are some of the new faces who accepting themselves for who they are:
Miley Cyrus, who has been the face of controversy the majority of the time she’s been in the spotlight. Despite all the pressure, you can’t deny Miley’s success.
Victoria Justice, “Nothing I do is ever good enough for me. In that way, I think I still have to learn to ease up on myself, some.”
Camilla Belle, “I hope that by showing my support, I can encourage today’s youth to be proud of who they are, no matter what others think, say, or do.”
AnnaSophia Robb, “Perfection is impossible. Trying to do your best is important, but loving yourself and loving others should come first.”
Me, Sure I’m no celebrity, but I have been hard on myself, believing that I need to do my best on everything. I’m learning that I am good enough.
You can go to seventeen.com to see even more celebs who are saying that Love is Louder.
What do you think of this campaign, Lovelies? Have you ever felt the pressure to be perfect?

I bought the issue that talked about this campaign. I love it!! It’s so true. People try for the impossible not knowing that being themselves is all you need & what people want.
Now I’d love to see some MALE celebrities on board for this campaign. Guys have unrealistic pressure on them too!!

@Shinbi_Belldandy@xanga - Thank you for mentioning the guys too. As many women fall into the pressure to look like that tanned, blonde, skinny twentysomething, guys feel pressure as well to have the perfect abs, be the perfect height, et cetera et cetera.
@RazielV@xanga - And you sir, are genius

@ohforrealson@xanga - Exactly~!! A good portion of eating disorders involve guys & drug abuse is a problem too. I mean I’m all for helping the fellow ladies but lets not neglect our guys. Just like women should get involved with male causes.
When I did a project on breast cancer with my friends 2 modules ago, I made sure to include a segment on breast cancer in men because it’s the same disease but it comes in different life stages & under different circumstances in men. We educated alot of people that day & we aced our project!

I don’t pay attention to trends and things which put pressure on anyone to be “perfect” because I’m into punk, metal, and things like that, but I do like the positive message being sent to all these trendoids

@Shinbi_Belldandy@xanga - Ahhh the drugs. That made me think of the steroid use in popular male sports… my oh my.
Kudos for acing your project!! And even more so on including the segment on breast cancer in men. I wasn’t even aware it happened in men, until a few years ago when I saw those commercials about it being a very real, tangible problem.

@ohforrealson@xanga - Yeah, alot of people think men dont have boobs but they do, they’re just not as prominent in some males. It usually happens later in life for various reasons. Hopefully cures are on the horizon so from now on when people hear the age “50″, they think of retirement, longer life spans & better health. I’m sick of hearing “it all goes down hill from here”. We dont know what’s in our futures but we should live in fear of it either. Life is for the living!

@Shinbi_Belldandy@xanga - People are living longer today as compared to fifty years ago
& yes life is positively for the living!

I just found this movement and I love it. This and TWLOHA have such an awesome goal and really do at least remind people they aren’t alone in their problems. I love how Demi is using her experiences as inspiration to help others too.
@Shinbi_Belldandy@xanga - If you go on the Facebook page for the movement you can see some guys joining in. It would be nice if their pictures were more publicized though.
