June seems to have gone by really quickly for me. Since I’m still taking summer classes, I haven’t really gotten into the summer time swing of things yet. However, there are some foods (and drinks) that I know will help me get there.
1. Lemonade. I don’t even know what to say about this one. Personally, I think a slightly tart glass of lemonade on day with a high above 80 degrees is just the ultimate.
2. Strawberries. These are my summer fruit of choice. I don’t know if it’s because they have negative calories (as in it takes more to digest them than they have), or if it’s just because they taste so much fresher during the summer, but they’re pretty much a constant in my diet from the months of June to August.
3.Iced Tea. I’m a tea over coffee girl myself, so depending on how you feel, you could substitute this for iced coffee. Regardless, it always makes me excited when I get to trade out the white hot Starbucks cup for the clear cold one.
4. Pasta salad. When it’s hot and gross out, I tend to shy away from foods that are also hot and gross. Enter the pasta salad. It’s the ideal meal for summer because you can throw in any meat and veggies you want- so you’re getting all the food groups in a chilly and efficient way!
5. BBQ. The summer barbecue is so emblematic of summer that one company has even bottled its scent. There are few foods I love more in the summer than BBQ pulled pork sandwich, so I totally get where they’re coming from.
What are your favorite summer foods, Lovelies? Any of these 5 got you salivating?

I love strawberries. I love summer because of all the fresh berries I can put into my smoothies. I also like grilling my homemade black bean burgers and having garden tomatoes instead of store bought to make my from scratch salsa and spaghetti sauce.
I still eat well in the winter but it’s harder to do it fresh and from scratch, which is why I think I always lose a ton more weight in the summer. Because all my food is fresh!

I really love strawberries!!! I think I have eaten strawberries everyday this summer! I’m also really loving pineapple! I love drinking iced green tea in the summer as well.

Iced unsweetened green tea, mmmmm.

BLUEBERRIES. I just learned they burn fat, so for summer it’s perfect.

So summery!

I have tons of iced tea, water, fruit and pasta salad in the summertime. Strawberries are the best.

Nectarine. I ate 8 of them yesterday in one sitting. I could have eaten more but my stomach felt too acidic.

Man, I am starving. I could do all of those right now. As for the lemonade and tea, I love to get the half and half at Starbuck’s.

I agree with all of these. I would add watermelon, honeydew melon, blueberries, grilled veggies, cherry tomatoes, fruity ice pops, and iced coffee (I only like it from Dunkin’ Donuts with caramel. But I’d pick tea over coffee any day.)
And I basically eat strawberries every single day, haha. They’re one of my favorites, right next to watermelon!
