Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (aka Kate Middleton) intends to pay for all of her clothing for her and Prince William’s upcoming Royal Tour of Canada and California which will take place from June 30th to July 10th.
According to People, Kate will be working with designers to put together her wardrobe for her 11-day trip over to our lovely North America and will be striking “private agreements” with them.
A spokesman for the Royal Couple added that the Duchess of Cambridge won’t be accepting any free offers of clothing (of which I bet she would’ve had many!) and that she wouldn’t receive a “special clothing budget” for the tour. As yesterday was Prince William’s 29th birthday, perhaps clothing wasn’t the first thing on Kate’s mind, but her decision shows just how modern of a royal she really is!
But that doesn’t mean she won’t be looking absolutely amazing as usual for her upcoming engagements in North America, including the “BAFTA Brits to Watch” event that she’ll be attending with Prince William while in Los Angeles. It’ll be her most important style moment since the Royal Wedding.
What do you think of Kate’s decision to pay for her wardrobe for the North American tour? If you were Kate, would you pay for your own clothing?

omg i am so sick of hearing kate middleton being talked about like she is some lovelyish goddess. get over it already…
guest
I DON’T CARE LOVELYISH! can you shut the fuck up about her already? We get it. you all think she’s godly and amazing…
guest
I agree…Kate Middleton overkill. BUT! She does seem like an amazing person. I think I would take the free clothing if the designers offered, she’s a better person than me. On the other hand, she’s a much richer person than me and if she can afford to pay for them, good for her.
guest
wow guys it’s just a blog??
guest
cool, maybe she should stop spending so much of someone else’s money on clothes and donate it to those who need it? geezus fuck- shut up
also i hate what she’s wearing. o0o0o0 it looks so royalll wah wah wah wah.
guest
I’m Canadian, and as you know (or should) we have major ties to the royal family and it’s rich history. I really like Kate Middleton. She seems like a beautiful, smart young woman. I commend her decision not to accept free clothing. I don’t see why there’s so much hate on here.

@kissmycouturex@xanga - I’m Canadian too
I LOVE Kate Middleton and it’s nice to see a “celebrity” type of woman that’s so classy. I think it’s awesome she’s paying for her own clothes too…either way she’s going to look fantastic!
guest
If I had millions of dollars, I’d pay for my own clothes too. Oh wait, I already do, and I’m not a millionaire. Big whoop.
daffodil / 1601 posts
I like her and all but uhm, like she’s ever going to have trouble paying for clothing?
guest
I’d pay for my own clothes because I don’t like having other people take care of me. Makes me very fucking uncomfortable.
As for citing People Magazine, how reliable is that tabloid, really? Oh yeah… it’s a tabloid.
guest
Everyone should pay for their own clothing. Except, er, I guess the designers get free advertising when she wears her clothes. I would take the free stuff, but not a “wardrobe budget”.
guest
What’s with all the friggin hate? Keep your panties on, everybody, jeez. I’d rather hear about Kate Middleton than Heidi Montag or Katy Perry, just as a couple of examples. And I think it’s cool that she wants to pick out and buy her own stuff. A lot of people in her position would just take advantage of their status to get free stuff.
guest
@waldesau@xanga - yeah i totally hate what she’s wearing in that picture too. could it be anymore BORING?
guest
@hot_metalhead@xanga - it is cool. it just annoys me that she has to get all this credit for buying her own clothes when hello the rest of the world does too
guest
Jesus Christ Kate Middleton/Lovelyish haters, calm the fuck down -.- If you don’t care and you’re sick of hearing about it, then why are you subscribed to a blog dedicated to celebrities and fashion? More importantly, if you care so little about it than why did you just put all that effort into making a comment about how much you don’t care? That’s just completely pointless.
ANYWAY, I admire that Kate Middleton is being so grounded and level-headed and not having everyone cater to her every fashion whim. It shows she’s genuine and not at all like spoiled royalty. We need to see more of that, so good for her. I’m beginning to realize how much I like her more and more with every good thing I hear about her

I pay for all my own clothes too, yet I never get any publicity.

@waldesau@xanga - Become famous. Then Lovelyish will always be talking about what you’re wearing. And the rest of the readers will comment about how fucking tired they are of seeing you every five fucking minutes.
Gosh guys, grow the fuck up. You take this shit wayyyyyy too seriously.
guest
Stop reading if you don’t like it… seems pretty simple to me!

@AngelAsh_86@xanga - I think it might have to do with not being royalty or famous. Lol
OP:
So much hate @_@ is it really that necessary? If it bothers you, don’t read it. Click the damn x in the top right corner.
guest
Dude, she graduated from one of the best colleges in the UK then got a master degree, and you think she needs to use the royalty’s money? LOL.
guest
Well she is more than very well off so it’s not going to affect her in the slightest. It’s not like this is a great thing to do or anything..so?

@MyFaire@xanga - @shandilion@xanga - @waldesau@xanga - I for one enjoy hearing about Kate Middleton. She’s one of my icons and if you don’t like it shut up and quit making a fuss about it. You don’t control what gets posted on here and if people weren’t interested in these posts, they wouldn’t be posted. Trust me, there are people who enjoy reading about Kate Middleton.
OP:
I like that Kate Middleton buys her own clothes. It shows she’s a responsible and independent. Very admirable qualities.
guest
@shandilion@xanga - Her way of dressing is mature and sophisticated. Two things you aren’t.
guest
@floralfiesta@xanga - And were allowed to express/voice our opinions, in any way we like.
Just like you are. So please don’t tell me to shut up. Just because we don’t agree with you. =) Thank you.
guest
@MyFaire@xanga - I didn’t tell you to shut up. I’m just saying there are people who enjoy reading these posts and that’s why they’re posted
Just a tip from a freelance writer: You don’t need to post hate and curse about . It’s disrespectful to a writer of an article, even if you don’t agree with it. Writers work hard on an article no matter how short it is or what it is about.
guest
@EBOV5_ZAIRE@xanga - Yeah, I think a few of us need to take some deep breaths or something. o_0
guest
@floralfiesta@xanga - “if you don’t like it shut up” And there are other’s who don’t. and they are allowed to say they don’t. There still getting feedback. I get it, shes “different” pretty, and someone who younger girls can look up to and idolize without parents worrying. But after awhile its the same thing. x__X and its almost daily with Kate stuff. @__@; on this site. it wouldn’t be bad if it was like once a week. and they had a “Kate news hour” and they collect all Kate things and spammed it then and there.
people post here for feedback, Which is what they are getting. Some may like the posts, other’s not so much.
And maybe. =)

@floralfiesta@xanga -
“You don’t control what gets posted on here “
nor do you control what kind of comments get posted here. it’s necessary for all kinds of comments to be posted, not just the happy la dee dah ones. I think it’s silly that Kate Middleton has to get some kind of credit for buying her own clothes when the rest of the world does. I will state my opinion when I want to whether or not you like it. thank you and goodnight

Just a tip from a reader: if you can’t take criticism, you probably shouldn’t be any sort of writer. also, don’t ever expect to improve if you can’t take criticism. when did it become disrespectful to voice out our own opinions? also when did this become some sort of fascist blog where were only allowed to agree with what’s being said and say nice things?
guest
@ohveryoung@xanga - Hmmm. I never said anything about seeing Kate Middleton every five seconds?
and yes, when you’re in the public eye you should expect to be blogged about and judged and all of that. I don’t like what she is wearing-so what. it’s just clothing after all. calm down.
guest
Love how Kate dresses nice and classy. Rather hear more about her than other celebs.
guest
@waldesau@xanga - You can express your opinion without swearing or being rude. I take criticism on my writing that’s polite and well-constructed, not from rude people
guest
@waldesau@xanga - She’s just stating that. You would think that she would jump on every opportunity to get free stuff but she doesn’t. That’s what this post is saying.
guest
@MyFaire@xanga - Well the magazine I write for has daily news updates about certain people and you don’t hear people being rude there
guest
@floralfiesta@xanga -
a) I never said anything rude towards the writer.
b) you are a hypocrite and your arguement is invalid:
”Her way of dressing is mature and sophisticated. Two things you aren’t.”
How polite!
guest
@waldesau@xanga - I didn’t swear and was a lot nicer than you.
guest
@floralfiesta@xanga - Maybe you just don’t see the comments =)
guest
@floralfiesta@xanga - just because I said one swear word, which is just a WORD by the way, does not mean you were ‘nicer’ than me. also, Im not going to argue who was ‘nicer’. I never insulted anyone or disrespected the writer. I was simply commenting on this article and then you go about telling me what I can and cannot think. I don’t think so.
guest
@waldesau@xanga - No, swearing is disrespectful to authors, believe it or not. Trust me, I delete the comments on my articles that have swearing in them because they’re not nice towards me.
guest
@waldesau@xanga - I swear, but it’s disrespectful in a professional environment which I see writing as
It’s my source of income.
PS it’s not facism. It’s respect dear. Learn the difference.

@floralfiesta@xanga - k bye

@waldesau@xanga - I like how you edited your comment because you knew you said something judgmental about her.
guest
@waldesau@xanga - You edited it because it doesn’t edit when it’s on your main page.
guest
@ohveryoung@xanga - She definitely edited it because it says something TOTALLY different on my private page.
guest
@waldesau@xanga - no it was totally different dear. the whole first line.

Um… with what money? She doesn’t work!
Any money she gets comes from British taxpayers or her own parents. Seriously… this woman is nothing more than a glamorous society wife living off of taxpayers’ money. I cannot believe anyone seriously aspires to be like her – she’s never had a career or held a serious job (a 3 month stint at Jigsaw and working part time for her parents doesn’t count). Get over it Lovelyish. There are plenty more accomplished women out there to feature than putting her on constantly!
guest
@floralfiesta@xanga - okay dear. what was it dear? sorry that I use the edit button is that also not allowed? i don’t even remember what it was because I edit things I write- and just so you know, you can only edit like 5-15 minutes Im not exact on the right time. I didn’t go back and take something out that I wrote, I was EDITING A POST BEFORE IT WAS POSTED COMPLETELY. oh my god, this is serious absurdity. GOOD RIDDANCE.
guest
@waldesau@xanga - “@floralfiesta@xanga – I thought no one on the blog or website or whatever you ‘work’ for leaves rude……” You’re obviously not as tough as you appear so goodbye. I’m done with these petty arguments with people who can’t see clearly.
guest
She looks soooooooooo adorable there
guest
Honestly…if I was in her shoes, I would totally take the free clothing. I mean…she is going to be under so much scrutiny and the like, that she should just enjoy the perks she’s allowed. Heck…I’d take free clothes now. xD Well…as long as they weren’t fug.
guest
@Hinase@xanga - But if they click the X, what will the bitch about?

You know who else pays for all her clothes? …Every adult woman in the entire world?
And I like how Lovelyish never takes any criticism well, whether it’s constructive or not.
guest
Shouldn’t it be Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (aka Kate Middleton)?
guest
I think she’s a great role model.
So many celeb and royalty will just take, take and take. She’s trying to be “normal”
Since UK is in financial crisis, she’s just making a point that she won’t require the govt. to support her clothings.
guest
She gets credit for paying for her own clothes because she gets offered FREE clothes. If we were all offered free clothes, we would take it.
It’s not the fact that she’s buying her own clothes, which we all do. It’s that she chooses to do it even when she has the option NOT to, because companies left and right all want to give her their free shit. It doesn’t make her a goddess or better than anyone, but it does indicate that she’s trying to stay down-to-earth, which is refreshing from someone in her position.
