The money, fame and fortune may be all well and good, but you couldn’t pay me enough to put up with some of the things celebs face on a constant basis. Check out my list of the top 5 reasons why it would suck to be famous.
1. No privacy. I can’t imagine what it feels like to never be able to be anonymous. Oh, so you decided to straddle your boyfriend on a beach? No biggie, except everyone and their brother is going to see on the web tomorrow.
2. Paparazzi when you least want to see them. Can you image what it must feel like to always have to look good for cameras? Going to the bank? Yep, you better look good. Going to the grocery store? They find you there, too. They even catch you coming out of public restrooms (I can remember a few of those famous shots from Ms. Britney Spears, unfortunately). Gross.
3. You can’t trust anyone. Many of us regular folk find it hard to trust people, but it must be a million times harder for anyone who is famous. If you start dating someone new, you not only have to worry about all of the normal things, but you always have to consider, is this person with me only for the fame/money? It’s a scary thought.
4. Too much downtime. Some people may look at this as a positive thing, but celebrities, mostly actors, tend to work for months at a time and then have large stretches of time off. This is the reason I believe that many famous people fall victim to drugs, alcohol and other illegal activities.
5. Tabloid magazines. It’s like high school gossip on a grand level. People you don’t even know are reading possibly untrue things about your relationships and everyday life. It must be beyond weird!
If all that isn’t enough to convince you, take a look at the video below of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez getting mobbed. Yeah… that definitely does not look like a good time to me.
Tell me, Lovelies: What do you think would be the worst part about being famous?

yes that video is kinda scary but i don’t feel bad for them. most chose this lifestyle. and lady gaga made a really good comment on the paparazzi. she said that if you spend the money, they will never find you. and that is definetly true. i guess i thought of her because they show her at the end of the video.

yeah you are absolutely right and i think that this is a great post. i definitely don’t know if i would be able to handle that kind of lifestyle. the pressure that would be put on you would be so intense that i don’t know if i would respond in a healthy way .

6. You can’t send nude pictures of yourself with your face in them to random 16 year olds without them getting leaked.

that’s why johnny depp moved to france
he normally keeps a low profile but travels for work when necessary. he’s rich so he can afford to travel back and forth if he has a home in france. if I was a celebrity, I’d live on my own private island like shaq or john travolta has his own private jet
I’d live like a lavish rapstar than pretend like some celebs to be modest and buy a used car or something else thrifty, but it is their own choice as to how they spend their money, etc.

yeah, I like to have a private life that not everyone has to comment on and judge and know everything detail about.

I would not like to be a celebrity at all! Why? People have no privacy, and the lives will get screwed!

I am wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too private to be a celebrity… I’m not even looking forward to having all the attention on my wedding day!

I already have a ton of people I can’t trust, being a celeb would make that problem way worse.

OMGSHHHHHHHHHH I FEEL SO SORRY FOR JUSTIN BEIBER.

I’m getting a taste of local fame in my area and it’s not bad. Basically, when you are a celeb, it’s all about karma. If you dress revealing and act stupid, you will get negative attention. If you keep it classy, people will lay off of you. It’s not that hard.

OMG! All those flickerling lights! It must suck to be famous.

I think it would be awful to have people expect you to give large sums of money at every turn, be politically correct all the time, and not respect your kids’ privacy. Plus, paparazzi and leftists are two of the groups that would annoy me the most… and you would have to be around them all the time. And be nice to them, or be skewered.
I would rather make my money in business, where (most) people aren’t nearly so nuts.

on one end i feel bad for them because no one deserves to get mobbed like that. i mean, that video is just ridiculous. i like how one of the photographers says “drive safely justin!” yeah, when he accidentally runs you over because your obnoxious camera flash blinded him, that’s not exactly safe driving, but whose fault is that? but at the same time, i don’t feel bad for them because they chose this kind of lifestyle. sadly, our bill of rights does not grant us the right to privacy.
BUT it IS possible to be a celebrity and be private at the same time. case and point, beyonce. i’m no beyonce worshiper. in my opinion, she’s just alright. but damn, do i respect how put together that girl is. she doesn’t talk to anyone about anything. try googling pictures from her wedding… you won’t find a single photo. now THAT’S private.
i’d take money over fame.

I feel like it comes down to, if you want to be famous, then this is a major consequence and you have to be able and willing to deal with it and handle it. People are crazy and obsessive and if you want to plaster your face all over the world and have your music on the radio then there’s downsides to that, to money and fame. So you have to deal with it and learn to live with it until you have enough money, like Beyonce, or Johnny Depp, to be able to hide in France and keep your personal life and photos off of Google images. Good luck with that. I would never want to be famous, I would not want that pressure and the spotlight on me. Also, I wouldn’t want to have to answer to the whole world for every decision I make. You’d have so many people against you all the time, how would you ever be able to feel like you were right in anything?

@evangeliaaa@xanga - And Johnny Depp right?
@erikacamera@xanga - Very true

I dont think this is necessarily true. I mean after a while, the paparazzi kind of just die down, and for some people, the paparazzi aren’t even a problem. Lots of celebrities don’t have this kind of trouble. The first couple that comes to my head is Gwenyth Paltrow, and Chris Martin. One is a movie star, the other a singer. Both very talented, but neither is harassed to such an extent individually, or as a couple. I think it just depends on the celebrity.

Definitely all the above except too much downtime.
