 I’d say the first one, lol.  Unless it’s leading to a sexcapade, then maybe the second.  I guess it depends on if you’ll be in public or not, because if you are, definitely the first one.  I think it’s prettier.

First one is too frilly and flowery for a guy, The second accentuates your curves. The color, unlike dress 1, compliments your skin tone well and doesn’t wash it out. 
From a guy’s point of view I’d want to be delivered beer to in a sexy dress…not looking young/like you’re going to church.

My husband likes me in dresses that make me look like a cute and sexy country housewife.  In particular he likes me in dresses with the back out, something that cinches at the waist, and something with feminine details like flowers, frills, or a fuller skirt.  He likes me too look like (these are his words) “a cute, innocent, fun loving, dainty girly-girl”.  This could be because I’m not really that much of a girly girl so he’s happy when I remind him that I’m still female.

So I guess it depends on what your plans are.

EDIT:  I showed my husband these dresses and he loved each one.  However, he went “mmm, jungle cat” when I showed him the animal print dress that I linked so if your bf is anything like my husband you can try that one on for size if you don’t plan on going to a nice place for dinner or something.

Depends what your boyfriend likes. I can certainly think of reasons for liking both. To be clear, the first one is cuter, the second one is sexier.

i would suggest getting a dress like #2, but in black. i can’t tell you a website off the top of my head but i know stores like papaya in the mall ALWAYS have a piece like that handy. although if you really wanted to, i think your boyfriend would be really surprised and happy if you did makeup, some jewelry, heels and lingerie. First is prettier. Second is sexier. Depends on what look you’re going for… I reeeeeeeeally love the first one, though.

If you want to try and look sexy, go with the second one. If you want to look sweet, go with the first. Either way, they’re both adorable!

I agree with your view on the first dress about being more girly and demure. the layered ruffles move as you sashay in the sexy high heels and teases his senses it is saying something like…hi, sweetie. do you like my purdy dress then he’ll probably say that you look adorable/cute I’d go with the demure first dress but wear some sexy lingerie underneath and surprise him later

whereas the tight body hugging nightclub dress is basically saying…come hither you’re going to get some tonight;) he’ll probably describe it as sexy/hot

I think you should go with dress #1.  It looks better, and more seductive, only thing is it is a little tame.  But tame’s not so bad if you work it with your actions.

#2 I dunno if it’s the design, or just that it’s pink but I don’t really like it all that much.  Maybe if it was black or red. I think I just have a thing against too much pink though.

It depends upon what else you are planning on “giving” him for his birthday and when. 

I consider the first to be flirtatious and something you should wear if you plan to slowly build up the anticipation until later in the night.
The second is what I’d suggest if you are planning on seducing him right away when you see him.
Personally, I’d suggest a little black dress that has the top of the first and the bottom of the second.  but that’s my bias!
I’m a guy, so I wasn’t exactly using my upper brain on this one.

Your makeup style range is better than having cooler colours. Since you already have a nice tan, going with pink is good.

I’d go for the 2nd dress. It’s a bit sexier and I’m sure he’d like it more than the first on because of its sexiness.

…Does anyone else think that his request is weird? If I asked my boyfriend what he wanted for his birthday and he essentially said “Look nice (oh, and do that by altering your body and your face)”, I’d be insulted. You should dress for you…not for anyone else. 

Im going to go with the second one… Not really because I like it. Mainly because my husband and pretty much every man I know dont understand or like ruffles or frilly dresses/shirts. The first one also kind of just looks like you are going to a sunday morning service and then brunch someplace.

I like the first one. It looks flirty and since the skirt part isn’t too form fitting, it at leaves SOME to the imagination, rather than the 2nd one where it’s completely form fitting.

while a bandage dress can make a womans curves stand out, the one your wearing doesnt do justice to your body. Especially that neck strap, it looks tacky it’d look better if it was strapless which most bandage dresses are. Then again even if that dress was strapless I really really dislike the “X” bands going across your stomach like a target on your belly.
