I am a huge lover of Starbucks! My girlfriends and I are at our local coffee hotspot at least once a week if not more. While I personally don’t like coffee, I have an overload of friends who would wither and die without their daily intake of caffeine.
If you love your daily Starbucks Frap, but hate all the money you spend on it, SquawkFox has a recipe to replicate your favorite chilled drink for just $0.32. At close to $4.00 for a tall at the shop, that’s a pretty excellent deal.
Will you try out this recipe? Tell us how it is!

Which one is real? Whichever one isn’t blended enough.

i wish they had a recipe for the vanilla bean one… though i’m guessing ice cream just replaces the coffee? i should go try it. (:

And thanks so much.

i’m sure they’re not hard to make, but a good blender can be costly. although if you go to starbucks regularly you will be saving money.

@chicbananas@xanga - Yeah, I’m thinking the non-Starbucks one is the one on the left.

The real Frapps only cost pennies to make. I work at Starbucks and genuinely feel bad making Tall Frapps for customers.
Look at the bottom green line of the tall cup: That’s how much milk you are getting, including espresso roast if you are getting a coffee based drink.
For a tall, I then add TWO pumps of Frappuccino base (sugar with elastic to keep it blendy, some light coffee flavor) and two pumps of whatever flavor you got. For the strawberry, you get berry juice on top of the milk up to the second line on the cup. Vanilla Bean gets two small scoops of vanilla bean powder.
To make up the bulk of the drink, I scoop a “tall” sized cup of ice into the blender along with the liquids and blend.
It’s a travesty.

@chicbananas@xanga - @not3000@xanga - Apparently, the site with the recipe says that the one on the left is the real one. I call bullskizzly.
