It can be fun to follow celebrity relationships, especially when they decide to date other people who also happen to be famous. But sometimes when two people get together, it’s less adorable and more confusing. Here is my list of the 8 weirdest celebrity couples that have either been married, starting dating or have been rumored to be hooking up within the past year.

1) Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald

Nikki got her start in Hollywood by writing and acting in her first film, Thirteen, with Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke when she was only fifteen. Since then, she has been a well-respected actress and has gained a large amount of publicity playing Rosalie in the Twilight saga films, as well as being good friends with Kristen Stewart. But her recent announcement of her engagement to season 10 “American Idol” contestant Paul McDonald is definitely an odd direction for her to take. Especially as the pair has only been dating for two months! 


2) Katy Perry and Russell Brand

I have to admit that for some reason, this pair seems to work. With Katy’s outrageous outfits and blossoming music career and Russell’s racy comedy, the two seem to be a great pair! Although on the outside, they do look a little mismatched. 

 

3) Hayden Panettiere and Wladimir Klitschko

The height difference is really the strangest thing about this couple. I just can’t stop staring at pictures of them. She looks pocket sized standing next to him! Hayden and Wladimir sadly did break up pretty recently, and Hayden is rumored to already have moved on to a new beau, Scotty McKnight.

 

4) Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne

I seriously just don’t get this relationship. Brody has always come off as a preppy rich boy, and Avril has always been that pop rock singer who just never cared about what anyone else thinks. I would love to figure out the dynamics of this couple, but I guess for now I’ll just settle with the fact that maybe opposites do attract.

 

5) Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham

Some girls seem to have a thing for Jason Statham, and while I do get his sex appeal, I don’t get how he bagged a hottie like Victoria Secret model and upcoming Transformers 3 actress, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Not to mention, this pair also has quite a large age difference (he’s 38 and she’s 24).

 
6) Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris

Speaking of an age difference, this pair is separated by over 60 years and are still planning on getting married later this month at Hef’s famous, Playboy Mansion. I hate to say it, but would she still be marrying him if it were not for the money? Hef just turned 85 this past April (Harris is 25!).

 

7) Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn

Sean Penn may be an acclaimed actor, but all I have to say is, Scarlett: what are you thinking? After the breakup of her two year marriage to fellow actor, Ryan Reynolds, Scarlett has reportedly been rumored to be dating Mr. Penn.

 
8) Kanye West and Mary-Kate Olsen

I recently saw a report of this on Lovelyish, and although it has not been confirmed by photographs or by an official announcement from either party, it is still possible that this duo is dating. Do you think Mary-Kate and Kanye’s personalities would mesh well?
