When Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” tour kicked off last week in Atlanta, her fans thought they’d be seeing Katy sing all of her hits like “California Gurls,” “Waking Up In Vegas” and of course, “Teenage Dream.”  Sure, they probably expected a few outrageous outfits (and maybe an appearance from Kathy Beth Terry), but I highly doubt they thought they’d be seeing a magic show.

Taking a lesson from contestants on America’s Got Talent, Katy makes seven of her 15 costume changes in mere seconds during her opening song, “Hot N Cold.”

Don’t believe it?

For those of you keeping score at home, here are the outfits:

She comes out in a blue dress (#1) which changes into a red dress (#2) (during the line You change your mind, like a girl changes clothes).  She then jumps into a red, rectangular contraption and 3 seconds later (really!) she comes out in a yellow and white ensemble (#3).  She then hops into a gold cylinder and comes out in a lime green dress (#4) and dances down the runway in the middle of the stage.  Making her way back to the main stage, she jumps back into the red, rectangular contraption and emerges in a red dress with white hearts (#5).  She dances a little more before stepping into another cylinder and comes out in a gold and white dress (#6) which reveals a tiny bit of dress #5 underneath it when she dances.  Climbing up the Candyland-themed stairs, once she gets to the top, two dancers pour buckets of confetti on her and when the colorful pieces of paper drop to the floor, she’s in a longer white dress (#7).

I think I need to learn this trick for when I’m attempting to get dressed for work.

How do you think this trick is done?  What outfit is your favorite?
