I’ll admit it, I was a Simple Life fan. Not because I loved Paris or Nicole, but because I love watching dumb people on television. However, Hilton’s new show The World According To Paris, which premiered last Wednesday night on Oxygen, failed to interest me. And apparently I wasn’t alone.
According to reports, Paris’ premiere was only watched by 409,000 viewers– a low number even for Oxygen standards. As a point of reference, more people chose to watch a rerun of Everybody Hates Chris on Nick At Nite or White Chicks on Starz.
So, what happened?! It was only six years ago that The Simple Life premiered and Paris seemed to be on top of the world for doing just about nothing. She even helped launch Kim Kardashian’s socialite reality TV show career (yes, they used to be BFFs back in the day). While I don’t have any answers for you, Lovelies, did you watch Paris’ new show? What did you think if you did? Why do you think it’s failing?

I think people are tired of the same old same old from Paris especially since she is 30. If she were still in her early 20s and she were still the only socialite with a reality show, maybe her show would have a chance.

I haven’t been regularly watching any particular shows for a few years now, because reality shows are getting tedious and the drama is funny in the beginning, but it quickly gets very obnoxious and predictable. that’s why I prefer watching those actual reality tv shows of cold case investigation files where there are sometimes unexpected criminal twists.

I watched it, but didnt care for it. I agree, she doesnt seem to have a personality, and is very mono tone when she talks. If the show continues (which is very doubtful) i think Charlie Sheen’s ex with probably take over the show more so.

maybe if she didnt talk with so many pauses and sound like she has a speech impediment then it would be more intriguing. But… shes annoying for other reasons too.
