I want to know who was the first person who thought “I’m not racist but…” was a get out of jail free card.  How very wrong they were.

I think most people are still pretty racist. They just know how to hide it better by masking it under certain words or phrases like saying “I’m not racist but…” They automatically take the blame off of themselves by saying it but also by saying that it’s like they already know how fucking racist it sounds but they don’t want to take shit for it.

As soon as someone says “I’m not racist, but”, you can be sure that what follows will be one of the more racist statements you’ll hear all day.

The phrase “I’m not racist BUT…..”  is a ridiculous way of people making it “ok” to say racist things.  It’s like they think it doesn’t count as racism if they qualify it to begin with.  It reminds me a lot of the phrase “Don’t take it personally BUT…..”  How can I not take it personally?  How can you not take it as racist because it is!!

I don’t know what’s more infuriating: the fact that people are encouraging the site in a crass way, the fact that people like to believe they aren’t racist for some of the things they  wrote, or the fact that I’m not feeling so enraged about it right now.

I didn’t see that Mexican comment as racist. Not really, at least. I mean, he COULD have gone without making sure to point out that the hot girls are usually white… But I have noticed that gorgeous women (black, white, asian, indian (non-native)) usually date the less attractive males and I always find myself wondering, “Whyyyyy? Are you REALLY going to tell me that his personality makes up for his really gross teeth with black gunk all over them, his greasy hair, terrible (and constant) body odor, and his consistent need to show his ass off???” (if you didn’t notice, this usually happens within my friends group.)
