A frequent complaint among big shot celebrities is that they get absolutely no privacy. I guess that’s true since cameras are shoved in their faces while they shop for groceries and people all over the world know everything about them from their favorite ice cream flavor to their home address. But Taylor Swift mentions on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that losing her privacy is the “price she pays for fame.”
Taylor Swift also states, “I think it’s just obnoxious if I complain about anything. You know, I hear people talk about like, ‘Oh, the intrusions on my privacy.’ It’s like there are a million other jobs you could have had.”
I’m sure celebrities should know what they’re getting into however it’s not a crime to complain. I can understand that the lives of celebrities must be difficult with something or someone in your face all day and night but Taylor Swift made a point.
Do you agree with Taylor?

i agree to an extent, everyone should be given some privacy, regardless of their jobs.

this coming from the girl who complains about every failed relationship via song. lol.
but on a serious note, even celebs deserve some privacy. and some people push the envelope when it comes to getting their picture, so i understand why some celebs complain.

I completely agree with Taylor. Celebrities knew what they were getting into when they wanted to be stars. I hate when people complain about something they knew and asked for.

@beebizzle@xanga - Why didn’t John Mayer and Taylor Swift have a successful relationship?
They’re each just too damn good at writing break-up songs.

I agree with her, but I also think that some of the intrusions on their privacy and Papparazzi bullshit they put up with is ridiculous and uncalled for. I think that if I were famous and all of those douchebags were trying to take a picture of me while I take my dog outside for a pee or something, I would probably pull a Nikki Sixx and bust their camera into pieces. Fame comes at a price, but celebrities deserve at least a small amount of privacy.

@hot_metalhead@xanga - I agree.

Yes, I agree with her, but I also think that there are some people who take the celebrity-stalking thing too far past the boundaries of decency.

I agree with pretty much everyone that has said that they at least deserve some extent of privacy because everyone should get that right, no matter what your job is.
It’s also a matter of going the extra mile to keep your private life private and keep yourself in the limelight for the things that count, like your actual career. Sure, everyone can slip up every once in awhile but there are plenty of celebrities that do a good job of keeping themselves and their private matters out of the tabloids. It’s just a matter of how careful you try to be.

To an extent. Though the things people do to invade their privacy is unreasonable.

I do agree with her. If you want to be famous, you have to be prepared to live a while different lifestyle. But some paparazzi are just ridiculous… If they could they’d take pictures of you on the toilet XD

Invasion of privacy is what celebs pay to afford the lifestyle they have. The rest of us do have privacy but not the fame or wealth. I say we do balance each other out, don’t you think?

That’s a really nice pic of her.

Lack of privacy is part of the job description. These people get to do what they presumably love, which so many can only dream of, and get paid millions of dollars for it — I’d say they can suffer to have a few unflattering pictures of them in sweats and sunglasses taken.

I love her.

THANK YOU. I mean, even Taylor Swift’s haters would have to agree.
It /does/ suck that you lose privacy, everyone should be entitled to /some/ privacy, but I’m tired of celebs complaining about it. Boo f-ing hoo.

The thing about publicity is … it’s very PUBLIC. So celebrities really can’t claim ignorance as to what they are getting into. Of course, the media should also respect reasonable boundaries and celebrities are entitled to complain when their rights are violated [such as when paparazzi trespass or stalking occurs]. Their voluntary pursuit of fame and publicity shoudn’t amount to a carte blanche to violate their privacy without discretion.

She’s very pretty, and I appreciate that unlike 80% of celebrities that she realizes clothes really aren’t optional, even during photoshoots.
That said, I don’t think some celebrities realize the extent of the intrusion on their private life (or lack thereof), and they also may not realize that even when their tv show ends or they’re not signing onto a new record label, they’re still after you on a constant basis. The whole part of working towards fame is having fans and getting people to buy… well, you. So suck it up, cupcakes.

Taylor Swift is so overrated.

I have no problem with celebrities complaining about losing their privacy. When every other “normal” person stops complaining about THEIR jobs, only then will I have a problem with celebrities complaining.

I’m sure she’ll stop feeling that way once the media decides they want a picture of her vagina.
