This is my group of friends and me at our senior prom. Please note that there are only three boys in the whole picture (oh yeah and a cardboard cut out of Zac Efron)….
I went to the only single gender school in Oregon, which made finding dates for dances more difficult than normal. The nice thing was, dates weren’t really a necessity, at least in my group of friends. So, when it came to my prom look– I wanted to keep it simple and inexpensive, since I didn’t have anyone to impress and knew I’d just go dance my face off all night anyways.
Here’s the best close up of my face I could find (I’m on the far left):
The headband I got for around $10 at American Apparel. Just for a prom head piece that would’ve been a little bit spendy, but I’ve worn it with everything from dresses to jeans and a t-shirt since then, so it’s proven to be very versatile.
And finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: my dress: (I’m the second from the right in both shots):
I bought the dress for a grand total of $25 at a Forever 21, and it was perfect. I don’t have any full body shots (another great part of not bringing a boy to prom- your parents don’t force you to spend an hour and a half taking pictures), although as you can kind of see in that picture on the top, it hits just at the knee. I wore silver heels as well, although I’m sure I took them off at some point in the evening.
And although I may not have gotten a kiss at the stroke of midnight from my Prince Charming (or whatever is supposed to happen at prom), I had a great time that night! And, best of all, I looked cute doing it.
So, what do you think of my look, Lovelies? Did you go to prom with out a date? Was it a good experience or a bad one?
