Before I begin, I’d like to go on record saying that I adore both Penelope Cruz and this Givenchy line. This line, I thought, was pretty much as close to perfection as you can get in an haute couture line. Everything was perfectly done, there was wonderful and ornate detailing in every single piece, and it added a dramatic and unique element, which is crucial to anything haute couture. That being said, this was not the dress for Penelope Cruz.
I don’t want to take away from her beauty, because she really is beautiful. I just don’t think that the dress and Penelope did justice to each others unique beauty. The main issue with this dress is that it does not fit her well. Because it is haute couture, the dress was made specifically for the model who was wearing it which, in this case, was not Penelope Cruz. I am not trying to take away anything from Penelope. I mean, she had a baby 4 months ago, and she looks amazing. This dress, perhaps, was just not the right one for her shape. It makes her look slightly lumpy and a little shapeless. For me this is a NO.
(Here is the dress on the model)
What do you think of the dress?

It makes her look fat.
Penelope is NOT fat.
This makes me sad… I normally LOVE anything on her.

She still looks beautiful, especially in that second shot…DAMN. She could get it.
@mydearparker@xanga - She doesn’t look fat, there’s nothing wrong with a little thickness.

I agree, definitely not the dress for her. It looks good on the model, though, so maybe a similar dress with different materials would have looked better on her.

I can’t stand Penelope Cruz. Ever since I saw Blow, her face inspires anger. Rawr.

..the fuck? she looks hot.

If the designers for Michael Jackson met Cher, this is what they’d come up with.

she’s latina, but looks like those purdy armenian singers. the zippers are too much. her upside down triangle(wide shoulders/small hips) body shape isn’t ideal for this style of dress. unappealing dress, but her smile and cleavage made up for the bad choice of dress. the dress would’ve looked nice without the tacky lace sleeves and zippers. I like the mini train of the dress.

It’s so Star Wars-ish. I like it.

I think it would have worked in a bigger size.

@A_NY_Zone61@xanga - I 100% agree with you… I mean the dress makes her look larger than her actual size.

when i first started scrolling down i was like, oh, it looks like an interesting business suit! then i saw the rest… the dress just doesn’t flatter her at all, and she’s so beautiful.

@wild_humm@xanga - My thoughts exactly.
@bAbiiExxPiNay@xanga - With her, the force is.

She looks very curvy to me. But not fat at all. I like the dress a lot.

There’s something about the dress itself I dislike, so I cannot pass judgement about her in it.

She’s beautiful – the dress is hideous.

It’s not the dress causing her waist to look thick, it’s the fact that her waist is actually thick, because she just had a baby.
I don’t like the dress in general, not specific to her body shape. Not that she cares, and why would she? She’s looking good, even in an ugly dress.
