OMGlee! This week’s episode of Glee, “Prom Queen,” was one of my favorite episodes of the season so far. Not only were there two references to two of my favorite people in the world, Catherine Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge (aka Kate) and Grace Kelly, the episode also featured (as usual) some really fantastic songs! Here are the reasons why I loved “Prom Queen”:
1. Shout-outs to Kate and Grace
Catherine Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge and Grace Kelly (who was royalty herself as the Princess of Monaco from 1956-1982) are two of my inspirations in life and are two of my style icons who greatly influence what I wear every day. When Jesse St. James told Quinn that she looked like “the ghost of Grace Kelly” I completely agreed (even if Quinn and I haven’t really seen eye-to-eye this season)! Kurt, Glee’s clotheshorse and most stylish man in Lima, Ohio paid homage to the recent Royal Wedding (which was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever watched in my life) and to the late, great Alexander McQueen with his prom outfit and I absolutely loved when he said, “Eat your heart out Kate Middleton” as he graced the stage for his coronation as queen.
2. The Usual Really Good Song Choices
As usual, the songs on this week’s episodes were really good! “Rolling in the Deep” by the super-talented Adele has been on repeat on my iTunes for weeks now and despite my dislike for Jesse St. James for what he did to Miss Rachel Berry, their duet of this song was amazing. When Blaine started singing “I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You” by Black Kids with backup singers Brittany and Tina, it brought back good memories of when I saw them as the opening act of another band at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Such a good song and absolutely PERFECT for prom (even if it did end in Finn and Jesse almost getting into a fight)! Finally, “Dancing Queen” by ABBA pulled everyone together in the end and it seemed that all issues suddenly went away…
3. The Possible Return of “Finnchel”
Finn still cares about Rachel and he almost fought Jesse St. James over it! This makes me HAPPY because I really like Finn and Rachel and would love to see them back together again. Plus, when Rachel told Finn that she dies inside when she sees Finn and Quinn together everyday, how could you NOT want them back together?
4. H.R.H. Kurt Hummel, Prom Queen of McKinley High School
If Kurt’s homage to the Royal Wedding and the amazing Alexander McQueen through his prom outfit wasn’t enough, his speech to Blaine just before taking his crown on the stage was quite a tear-jerker. H.R.H. Kurt took the stage, proudly wore his crown, and even tried to inspire Prom King, Dave Karofsky, to take a stand for himself. He’s fashionable, says great speeches, and inspires people…Kurt Hummel has all of the best qualities of royalty. “Eat your heart out Kate Middleton” indeed!

I agree.. except I”d rather Finn be with Quinn. I can’t stand Rachel.

Finn and Quinn do not belong together. I love Rachel. Her and Finn are obviously meant to be.
When Kurt came out to the dance floor to try to dance with the in the closet gay kid (who’s name I can’t remember) who was crowned king, and he walked away, and Blaine came up and said “Can I have this dance?” I cried. SO ADORABLE!

I stopped being a Gleek when the episodes became a travesty and just bad. This may be a good episode but it doesn’t fix what is wrong with Glee now ;(

My favourite moment was when Karofsky walked out and Blaine swooped in to take Kurt’s first dance =).

Artie and Brittany. I just want them to be together. Hopefully Santana can find a hot girl to date, or they could have a threesome. That’d be cool too.
I also loved Friday. HAHAH..
oh…and Sam. Yes.

Um. Anyone with a brain could see that Finn is a complete moron and does not deserve Quinn or Rachel. He’s constantly going back and forth and can’t make up his mind. Why would anyone wanna be with a guy like that? I don’t ship him with anyone, he deserves to be alone.

@bAbiiExxPiNay@xanga - I paused and ran into the kitchen to tell my roommate they were singing Friday. Definitely a highlight of the ep.
I think the best part was when Blaine danced with Kurt at the end. And I hope Artie and Britney get back together, they were cute.

I was nearly in tears when Rachel sang Jar of Hearts and you could see Finn looking at her! They need to get back together and if they don’t, my heart may actually break. And it was adorable when Artie sang to Brittany.

I agree with most everything here. I want Finn and Rachel back together, although with Artie and Brittany. I don’t want them. I want Brittany and Santana to be together. Artie can get along fine without her, but Santana really needs Brittany there to help her grow.
And I died with Blaine stepping up and in for Kurt’s Prom Queen Dance.

You didn’t mention anything about “Friday”! haha. That was interesting.
I liked how Kurt accepted his crown, but I didn’t like that he encouraged Dave to come out right then during the king and queen dance. He JUST admitted to himself that he’s gay, he shouldn’t have to make a grand display of his sexuality.

@Winter__Raven@xanga - I am really glad someone else agrees with me about Santana needing Brittany there to help her grow! I think Santana should come out to Kurt, too, he could help her so much. And not to mention OMG BLAINE! So cute <3
