Due to Mother’s Day here are a few fashion pieces I take from my mother’s closet all the time!
This little cardigan is simple except for the jeweled detail in the upper left. At first, I thought it was kind of tacky but when I tried it on with a pair of simple brown sandals it was so cute!
This little blouse is so comfortable and light. It’s a sheer material that forms a flowing silhouette. I’ll usually pair it with skinny jeans and I’m on my way!
This is one of her new tops.Don’t tell her I borrowed it! It’s a pretty simple top. It completes any boho look.
And these are actually mine but my mother bought them for me after I kept borrowing hers. She has a blue one similar to these and I thought they were so cute and easy to put in my hair. I just place it in my hair and I’m ready to go. She bought me these brown ones finally so I would stop wearing hers. I got the hint, Mom!
And the piece I use the most is this adorable handbag. I saw it hanging on her closet door one night before I went out to the movies and I thought it was so cute! It was the perfect size for my phone and wallet and it slipped over my shoulder easily with the long strap!
I thought she might’ve bought it but it turns out it comes all the way from South America. Her aunt brought it from Argentina when she was a little girl. I thought that was really cool! I’m using a little less often now in hopes of passing it down to the next generation.
What are some of the things you’ve borrowed from family?

I don’t borrow from my family. We don’t have the same tastes. and I’m 19. My mom is almost 40. I shouldn’t be wearing what she is wearing. :/

I don’t borrow anything. I can probably steal from my twin now that’s she almost the same size as me, but I’ll just have to see what she’s got. >:P

My daughter and I share clothes all the time

@MyFaire@xanga - that’s not true! i mean where you say you shouldn’t, implying it’s wrong or something because of your ages or because shes your MOM. It may apply for your family, but alot of mothers and daughters pass down clothing from what they wore when they were a teen/young adult; sure alot of it isn’t my style, but i have found sooo many uncomparable gems in her closet than any store, getting complimented on them constantly. It’s a common thing. It’s hard if your mom is larger or taller than you, as in my case, my mom is 5″7 and I’m 5″4. But there are many tops and cute headbands, purses and jewlery, along with other simple things I’ve found in her closet that I’ve worked into my own style and outfits, just as this girl has seemingly done here!

my mom has those brown claw hair combs, too, but I haven’t borrowed it, not my style. she also has the aladdin harem pants, leggings with elastic stirrups on the foot, and high waisted tapered legged mom jeans, but I haven’t borrowed them. I’ve tried them on and I look like I’m drowning in the saggy harem pants because I’m thin. she has this velvet vest embellished with jewels, but I wasn’t feeling the aladdin style, and many other things mostly from the 80-90′s era. she also had this long retro 70′s boho swing skirt, but she had a tiny waist back then, and I’m thin, but my waist is still bigger than hers, so the skirt doesn’t fit me but I don’t like long skirts anyway:P I looked at old pics of her and when my mother was in her 20′s, she was quite stylish and dressed very bohemian chic and she had that charlie’s angel brunette hairstyle. it was fun trying on some the styles that she used to wear. basically, the styles that are trendy nowadays, is most of my mother’s old wardrobe, which I’m still not interested in. however, I liked the track jacket that she had and wore that to school before.

@mangocait@xanga - It is true. Thank you. I’m tiny and curvy my mom isn’t. Shes bigger and taller and her cloths don’t fit on my body. and her skin town is darker. so yea. Please don’t. c: I don’t care for people who share with there parents with cloths. I think its silly. And my mother and I don’t share the same style. I didn’t say its wrong. Don’t shove words in my mouth. I said I SHOULDN’T. Thank you
Kay cool.

Your mom has excellent fashion sense!
I don’t borrow anything from my mom because she’s not really, um… fashionable. My sister and I are slowly working on her because she does want to look nice. The mom jeans have so far gone away, and now she’s wearing much more figure-fitting ones. We’re slowly rebuilding her tops now.

I never borrowed anything from my mom because I don’t care for her style and plus she’s much smaller than me. I did wish that I could have borrowed a pair of awesome wooden wedge sandals my grandma had hiding in the closet from the 70s, but she wore size 5.5 and I wear size 7s. So sad!

Well, I’m almost 19 and my mom’s almost 52. We don’t share clothes, mostly because we have completely different body shapes… but if we had similar builds, I don’t doubt we’d be raiding eachother’s closets all the time. We like cute stuff.

My mom and I steal each other’s clothes all the time. I’ll be going into her room to retrieve my favourite belt and she’ll be in mine, trying to find her favourite blouse. I never had a sister my age, so this makes up for it.

I’m out-of-state at school, but I definitely have two amaaaazing pairs of boots that she bought almost 25 years ago. They go with everything and are still in great shape for being so old.
I’ve also borrowed her awesome metallic Gianni Bini wedges. We’re really lucky that our sizes are almost identical. If one of us buys something that fits a little big or a little snug, it will almost always fit the other one.
