Pictured above: me in light gray Ashley Stewart stretch jeans
There is a huge controversy about plus-sized women wearing skinny jeans. Most people say that skinny jeans are for skinny people. WRONG! That is a fairly ignorant and discriminate remark. Skinny jeans can look incredible on teens and women between sizes 16 and 24. They shape out a woman’s figure nicely because they are skin-tight from the waist to the ankle.
For plus sized women size 14 to 18, light wash skinny jeans can look really cute. If you have a big chest, light jeans paired with a dark colored shirt will tone down yourupper body. (WARNING: Some light wash skinny jeans make a woman look much heavier than they really are so be careful when buying them!) If the issue is the complete opposite and you want to slim down your big thighs, dark blue to black skinny jeans are helpful.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
Beware of the muffin top! Trust me, I know that finding the right jeans for a large waist is so difficult. The pants itself might be perfectly but the waist could be too wide (which makes the crotch area look horrible when you wear a belt), too tight (which gives you a muffin top look that’s even worse when you sit down) or too tight AND high-waisted (which can give you a muffin top and hurts when you sit down or bend over). If you’re like me and have a belly, the best type of jeans for you must come up right below or at the belly button; anything higher is just too high-waisted. This conceals and keeps the lower belly in. No girl wants their gut all out there. If you can’t help the muffin top (which is common), attractive loose tops are great to cover them up and look awesome with skinny jeans as well.
Although wearing high heels for most plus-sized women (especially me!) can really hurt because of the weight pressuring on their feet, some people can actually deal with the pain. So for those who love pumps, strappy sandals and stilettos, skinny jeans are your best friend (especially if your height is under 5’5’’)!
If your butt is not in the greatest shape, avoid skinny jeans. Skinny jeans are tight enough to show off your figure so if your butt is on the flat side (which most girls face at least once in their lives), I suggest to buy padded underwear. It’s just like a push-up bra except it’s for your bottom. There’s nothing wrong with padded underwear. They give your butt a little boost. (WARNING: If you are about to have sex, make sure you take off the padded underwear in the bathroom. You don’t want the guy to see your secret weapon!)
Spandex and stretch jeans are magical. The best jeans for a plus sized woman are something stretchy and durable. Stretch jeans are extremely comfortable to walk in, bend over and sit in. I live for stretch jeans and dark leggings!
I recommend Rainbow, K Mart, Sears, Wet Seal, and Ashley Stewart for skinny jeans if you’re a plus sized woman.
The best skinny jeans brands for me are Levi’s, Baby Phat, Apple Bottoms, Route 66, Ashley Stewart brands and K Mart brands.
Shopping for skinny jeans as a plus sized female is a hassle and takes a lot of time and patience but once we find the right pair, we’re set for life! Skinny jeans were made for us. They slim us down, keep everything in place and look sexy!

I do not think skinny jeans are all that flattering on most people and I like a shirt to be long enough to cover my big arse but I do think that you should be able to wear whatever style you are comfortable in.
guest
Right on.
I wear skinny jeans too and I’m a size 14.
I do feel like people are gonna hate on this post, though… :/
guest
No. Skinny jeans are meant for size 8s and below. Not every style works on everyone, and you just have to accept that.
guest
I honestly like your confidence; if you like it, then rock it. However, I don’t like the way it fits on you. There are more flattering jeans for many different body types.

I’m sorry, that look isn’t flattering on most people (especially flat-assed people like you said) but on plus sized women it’s really not good ever.
It’s not a matter of feeling ugly (or being ugly, because you’re not), it’s just being realistic with what works and flatters you and what doesn’t. I’m 5′ tall, I look like a magical elf in poofy dresses and even more ridiculous in maxi dresses. I have muscular arms, so cap sleeves make me look Hulk-like.
I think if plus sized women wear skinny jeans they should be a darker wash. But I have a bias against light jeans.
guest
Regardless of whether you’re a size 0 or 18: if you’re confident about how good you look in them, then work it, because you do look just that great. End of story.
hydrangea / 89 posts
All plus size women can’t wear them and neither can all small-medium size women. I hate skinny jeans on my figure. They just don’t look good. I am no longer a plus size, but they just don’t fit me. Even when I was bigger and had a rounder butt, they still looked funny on me.
I need help!!! I have yet to find a GREAT fit for jeans.
If you are one of those people who look good in skinny jeans, then rock them, but unfortunately, I don’t fall into that category

@yankeesrock92715@xanga - You’re wrong.

If you say so.

They shouldn’t.

There’s a reason they’re called “Skinny Jeans”. Plus sized womem need something down bottom to balance out their larger hips, but, and stomach.
I think skinny jeans on a larger person look nasty. But that’s just my opinion.
guest
@yankeesrock92715@xanga, Exactly.
Yes, it’s great to have confidence, but I think there are better looking styles for different sizes.
guest
I think to really see how they look on you you should’ve showed a full length picture. We need to see your whole body to see how they really work with your figure (like you were talking about down playing breasts)

Get it girllll!

I love my hips but I don’t like the way skinny jeans look on me. I hate how they suffocate my ankles. My hips are large and I enjoy that but these make me look cartoonish and top heavy (which I’m far from). Also, I despise stretch jeans.
Dark wash straight legs over here.
guest
@Kendall - The reason they’re called skinny jeans is not because they are meant for skinny people. That statement is fucking rude.
guest
if you have shapley legs then yes.
if you have tree trunks, then no.

when my mother saw me wearing my skinny jeans, she was shocked and confused even though I’m skinny. she said that they fit too tight and that I should buy something that doesn’t look like it was from the kid’s section; hey I bought it from the junior’s section
and I’m short, so yeah. she is a meanie to me:D but skinny jeans are suppose to fit tightly. I haven’t stopped wearing my skinny jeans. then I saw her wearing low waisted tight jeans and omg, it was weird to see my mother being stylish. anyway, if you feel sexy wearing it, then wear it proudly:)
guest
I really like your confidence. I believe that people should wear whatever they want, but at the same time it should flatter your figure. I could see why plus size women want to wear them because they’re a trend, but not every trend is for you. Hell, I’m thin and proportional and I can’t wear every style. Just make sure that whatever you do brings out the best in you.
rose / 802 posts
I’m a size 14 & look better in skinny jeans that any other style. I have thin legs & a round midsection, so wearing dark-wash skinny jeans with longer tops & tunics, especially with boots, is the best look for my body. Any blanket statements that “People of __ size can’t wear __” is just that – a blanket statement. We know how often those are true!
guest
I would have to disagree slightly. I think women with junk in the trunk (such as myself), thighs, and tummy should go for straight leg over skinny. I think it gives you the look of a skinny leg but since they don’t taper so much and hug your lady lumps as tight it balances out the hips and booty a bit better.
With that said, I do own a gray pair of skinnys that I love. I got them from Aeropostale. They aren’t skin tight on me either, which I like. But all my other “skinny” jeans are actually straight leg and I think they look better on me than most skinny jeans. I’m not plus-sized, either. I fall at around a size 6 or 8. I just got a high, round donk and some thick legs.
dahlia / 2382 posts
I think they look nice on you but a darker wash would be more slimming & flattering. Good post though! I’m glad you have body confidence! I’m still working on my but it’s better than it was when I was a teenager! Instead of covering up, I show off more in flattering clothes.
guest
I don’t like skinny jeans on anyone, but they make your ass look nice.
guest
I wish I had your confidence! I’m a size 6 and I’m too self-conscious to wear them. They look great on you, so ignore the bitchy comments and keep rocking the skinny jeans!
guest
hate to break it to you, but i don’t think you look too hot in those. it could be more the wash than the cut. of course, if your confidence is so amazing, then why would you care what others think and feel the need to write this post?
guest
Looks like you did find ones that flatter you.
I don’t think I’d even try or be that patient. I don’t feel I’d have the kind of confidence to pull that off, myself, but I admire that you do! Good post!
daisy / 543 posts
They look awesome on you. I have no problem with plus size women wearing skinny jeans because I’m plus size. But I don’t wear them because it feels like they cut me in half and I would have to take scissors to them to get them off me. That’s why I either wear jeggings or stretch jeans. You definitely work them though.
daisy / 598 posts
I agree! Though I’m not a huge fan of light colors, it’s hard to make them look good, they have to be really great fitting paired with the exact right top. Darker colors just make life easier and look good with little effort. Skinny jeans are the only kind of jeans I really like because one of my nicer features is my legs and it shows them off. Regular jeans just swallow my legs up and just highlight my mid section which is NOT my nicer feature.

i think skinny jeans look bad on everyone to be honest. i miss 60′s flares =(
hydrangea / 51 posts
Hell yes! I’m a big chica too, and I do have a pair of skinny jeans that I rock like no other. They are dark though. I don’t know if anyone has this where they live, but if you’re a big girl, no matter short and big or tall and big *like me*, DEB is an amazing place to go. Their jeans fit me really well.
guest
Those of you who are like “Fat people look nasty in skinny jeans” and “Sorry but if you’re not a size 0-8 you shouldn’t wear skinny jeans” I have two words for you. They may not be the most mature words in the world, and I’m sure you skinny bitches will yell at me for saying them, but Fuck You.
Truth is, skinny jeans look BETTER on bigger people then they do on size 0′s, because we don’t have stick chicken legs, we have something to fill them out.
I am a size 14 and I only buy skinny jeans and jeggings. I will not wear flares/wide legs/straight legs/boot cut/etc. All of them just make your legs look fatter if you’re bigger.
This just goes back to the whole body appreciation thing that myself and my friend started on xanga, AND my original post where I confessed that I’m fat. Those of you who are talking about fat people looking nasty are the whole reason why us fatties have such low self esteem. You are the reason for the thousands of people who are part of xanga blogrings that are supportive of aneorxia and starving. You are the reason that everyday people are literally killing themselves just to lose a few pounds, because “fat is ugly.” You should be ashamed of yourselves.
The only reason that a person should lose weight is for health concerns. Not because society wants them to be skinny. And if you’re starving yourself then you’re clearly not losing weight to become healthy. People starve themselves because they think skinny = beautiful. Well I can tell you now, those who think fat=ugly are not beautiful people, no matter if you wear a size 0.
Since I am healthy, I see no need to try to lose weight. Yes, in the past, I have wanted to lose weight and thought it was important because people have picked on me so long for being fat. But my doctor says I’m healthy. So sorry, no matter how many insults you throw at me, I’m not gonna try to lose weight right now. I’ve got way more other things to worry about. I think being mentally healthy is a little more important then being skinny.
With that said, I have to disagree with one thing you posted. All of those places are not places I’d recommend to buy jeans. I buy my jeans from Old Navy and American Eagle. Wet Seal’s jeans are cut very small and I think they’re cheaply made. Other then that, great post.
guest
I just have to justify one thing that I said, that comment was merely against those skinny people who are against me being fat. I have no problem with skinny people, and I don’t hate on them because I’m fat. My best friend is very skinny, she wears a size 4, and the ex boyfriend I was with for 2 and a half years is a twig. I don’t think that skinny people are unattractive, nor do I think that fat people are unattractive. I think that beauty isn’t based on what size jeans you wear.
guest
My coochie refuses to be suffocated by jean material.
I don’t like skinny jeans on chunkies, but you should wear what makes you feel great. My ass doesn’t feel right in that type of stuff and my legs get irritated when jeans rub against them. Plus, I’d rather wear bell bottoms to balance out my junk.
guest
These are some retarded ass comments. Some people need to get over themselves. If you think you look good in what your wearing then wear it fuck what anybody else thinks it’s your body not anybody else’s. If you don’t like what somebody else is wearing then don’t look at them. Nobody told you to even look in there direction. Nobody should be jugding anybody because nobody is perfect in this world. You can wear anything you want to wear. The next time people think about hating on somebody else then you might want to look in the mirror just one more time because you aint perfect either.

Skinny jeans on plus size makes girls don’t look good unless you have a loose, flowing shirt that comes about mid thigh.

I think it’s more about body proportion than size…Some people look better in skinny cuts, some in bootcuts, etc. Whatever.

I hate skinny jeans in general lol

I definitely agree that women of any size can wear skinny jeans. The “skinny” part just means they stay slim/tight along the whole leg… not that they are meant for only skinny people. Anyone that says that is severly incorrect. I’m size 12 and skinnies look damn good on me. They’re all I wear because I really don’t like flares of any kind. To me, skinnies + T shirt is WAY better that flares + T shirt.
guest
Hell yes plus-sized women can wear skinny jeans! Especially with a pair of kick-ass heels.

@marine_g1rlfriend@xanga - I never said I was being nice. It’s my opinion. Fuck off bitch.

I agree, just because you are skinny doesn’t mean you look good in skinny jeans. They can look good on just about anyone…as long as you get the right pair and know how to work them. I myself cannot, but I applaud those that can. Thank you for this post!

guest
No. Just, no…
Skinny jeans are not meant for fat people. I’m a size three and I think I need to drop a few pounds before I can wear them.
guest
as long as a person deosn’t muffin top, skinny jeans are fine in my opinion
guest
I agree with you. It is not the size you wear, but the shape of your body that determines whether or not you look good in skinny jeans. If you have a bigger butt, wider hips, and thicker thighs, they aren’t the most flattering look on you especially if you wear them too tight.
guest
They’re called skinny jeans because they have the thick and tightness of a pair of leggings. If you have the money and body to wear something that “skinny” as pants, more power to you. But everyone else, there’s nothing wrong with waiting to get new pants if stores insist on carrying nothing but thin cheap pants designed to make Kate Moss’s thighs and butt look upholstered.
guest
I…….LOVE THIS POST!!!! My sister is a size 18 and she has always been self-conscious about her body up until right now she’s finally liking the idea of skinny jeans/leggings!!!!!!!! (can you tell how excited I am?
) So I really like this post because it gives me a little idea on how to help her find the right brand to match her body. Good job girl! Much props!

I don’t understand why people in here are getting so mad, lawls.
Anyway, I think you look great, darling. I love that you’re posting from a plus side view, keep it up!
it’s tiresome constantly seeing posts only for skinny girls after a while, but there are people of every shape and size who like being fashionable.
guest
@Kendall - Yeah it’s pretty obvious that you’re not being nice, judgmental cunt.
guest
honestly, if these pictures are at all representative of how you really look, it is one of the most unflattering looks i’ve ever seen. it takes a really good body to pull off skinny jeans, and if you work hard enough on your body that you can pull them off well, more power to you.
guest
I think that’s HOT! Keep rockin it!
guest
…. well, see, the thing is that it doesn’t even look the way it’s supposed to look on people who aren’t skinny; the skinny jean SHAPE (just like other cuts of jeans each have their own shape). especially on plus sized people, it just looks like you’re wearing tights. but you rock it girl, confidence is what’s sexy =)
guest
I hate skinny jeans. And because it makes people look bad, especially large people, imo.
guest
some bigger girls with an hourglass figure can pull off skinny jeans.
ones who carry their weight in their thighs cannot.
i personally do not like fat girls in skinny jeans. i am a fat girl, size 16-18, and skinny jeans make me look more terrible and rotund than i already am. it’s disgusting.
sunflower / 432 posts
I can’t believe the comments you’re getting. I’m a size 12 and I wear skinny jeans and I look fucking hot in them, I don’t care what anyone says.
They’re especially cute paired with boots.
My measurements are 39″, 29″, 42″ and I’m pretty sure that you’re probably built like I am – an hourglass.
I think that most of the women saying that bigger girls can’t rock the skinny jeans are just saying that because they aren’t built like hourglass shape, so they don’t understand that hourglass looks good in anything that fits.
sunflower / 432 posts
@Kendall - They’re called “skinny jeans” because of the cut of the fabric, but don’t worry about educating yourself, nobody will want to talk to you anyway because you’re such a bitch.

@Becomingxperfection@xanga - And judging by your profile picture, xanga name, and comment, you have an eating disorder. Do you really think you should be going around trying to make other people dislike their bodies because you can’t stand yourself?

@thisiswhereItellyoueverything@xanga - you’re a fat judgmental bitch. It’s an opinion you whiny little cunt.

What I hate about skinny jeans is that they magnify the huge gap between my thighs. I look like a walking basketball hoop. I’ve always been self-conscious about that area, so I have to have long tops to cover that area as much as I can if I decide to wear skinny jeans.

@Kendall - You go, girl.
Seriously, this is Lovelyish and everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
On that note, I definitely think skinnier girls look significantly better in skinny jeans. It just depends on preference, though.
But more power to you, OP, if you like how you look.
guest
Skinny jeans are sexy but DAMN I hate pulling them on (and I’m pretty slim).
guest
As long as I can’t see someone’s cellulite through the fabric or camel toe, it’s all good. But if those two factors are very much present, I say ditch the skinny jeans. If not, rock those jeans whatever size you are!
guest
The skinny jeans look great on you. Anyone who thinks they’re called skinny jeans because they’re for skinny people is a dumb. They are obviously called skinny jeans because of the cut.
guest
I don’t think skinny jeans look good on *anyone*. But that’s just me.
guest
@too_pretty_to_die@xanga - If you read the post, it was obvious that she was giving tips on what to look for when buying skinny jeans. She wasn’t looking for others approval of her look, its clear she already knows she looks awesome.
guest
@Kendall - lololololol they’re called skinny jeans because of the cut. I hope thats what you meant.
guest
you know what girl, clothing aside, I think your confidence is what is amazing on you! props to your confidence.
@Kendall - they’re not called skinny jeans because they’re for skinny people, it’s because they get skinny at the bottom. flare jeans aren’t for people who flare (??), they’re so named because they flare at the bottom. same with straight jeans.
guest
@marine_g1rlfriend@xanga - @thisiswhereItellyoueverything@xanga - aww come on guys, you’re not being very nice either.

skinny jeans look good on short fat people not tall fat people. tall fat people look dumb. i am tall and fat hense the lack of skinny jean wearing.
guest
If you’re curvy, fine. But if you have rolls, I’m sorry but it doesn’t work. I mean if you’re fine with showing off every detail of your legs then go for it but most of us who are curvier do not have the balls to deal with that. I’d especially never recommend light wash skinny jeans to a curvier girl. In fact if you wear the black tshirt on top it just makes your legs look even more huge then they really are in proportion with the small waist. It just looks weird and unflattering so I really have to disagree for the most part depending on how big the person is.
sunflower / 296 posts
I like. Especially how the skinny jeans puts an emphasis on the booty. Heh! I have a question though. I own a pair of skinny jeans. Are they really as durable, in terms of bending over, and stuff?
guest
HATERS GON’ HATE.
Skinny Jeans DO work on plus sized girls. Whoever said they’re for skinny people and skinny people only needs to shut the fuck up. Looser clothes make you look BIGGER versus wearing clothes that actually fit right so IT MAKES SENSE that skinny jeans can be rocked by the plus sized girl!
While I make not agree with the light wash, I believe that dark washed skinny jeans look best.
I’m just curious about where this negativity towards plus sized women and skinny jeans comes from. I live in southern california and skinny jeans on plus sized women have been encouraged more than frowned upon.

glad you have the confidence to rock them.

@WannaBeFit73@xanga - you honestly believe that everyone can pull off every style of clothing? some styles are made for a specific type of people. Skinny jeans are made for skinny people. I’m just telling it how it is. Petite girls can’t pull off wide leg pants as well as larger girls can. It’s just how things are.
guest
@yankeesrock92715@xanga - Like someone else said, skinny jeans aren’t just for skinny people. If they were, they wouldn’t make them in bigger sizes. They are called skinny jeans because of the bottom, the top half looks just like any other style of jean. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out.
guest
@WannaBeFit73@xanga - they make them in bigger sizes because people would get offended if they didn’t. Skinny jeans highlight the shape of the leg, and bigger people don’t have as nice legs as skinny people do. So they should find jeans that are more likely to flatter their bodies. People are too sensitive, and they have to realize that not everything is going to work for them. I’m short, so I know that maxi dresses will never work for me. I don’t force something, rather I go for what makes me look good.
guest
I honestly dont think that a person should buy a specific pair of pants or anything for an outfit unless they both look great and make you feel confident. That being said, pants should always fit you in the right places… if they dont, go try on 50 more pairs of pants until you get it right or else take some that arent too bad and go to the tailor to get them fitted properly. Its frustrating, but its a process that pays off and benefits you at all angles (pun intended).

THE WORLD SAYS THEY CANNOT. Just because clothing is made, does not mean everyone’s body can work every single style. STOP DOING THIS TO YOURSELVES. It looks bad. Wear clothing that makes your own body type look good, and you will look good! It’s not brain surgery…
guest
i’m half and half. it depends on the jeans, your body, and the color. i look great in dark skinny jeans (i’m 7/8) but light ones just don’t do me justice. i also read something (in a comment) about them suffacating the ankles. i always try to go for ones that are a little loose around the ankles, but i have “shapely” legs, so it’s really not that hard. I think you look fine, but i would go for a darker color, and i also like having a long shirt to atleast cover something… just my opinion though.
guest
um just..no

If I was much younger and cute like you I would try a pair
guest
@yankeesrock92715@xanga - It doesn’t matter, there are many girls who are above size 8 who look perfectly fine in skinny jeans. Period.

I wear Skinny jeans all the time and I’m size 18. I think they look fucking fine on me.
And by boyfriend said that the woman in the above pictures is hot. It’s all a matter of opinion, rock the styles you want.

Straight leg jeans are so much more slimming and flattering. They’re still tight, and not flared, but they lengthen and smooth the legs, especially in a dark wash.

I see Lovelyish is again posting these big/skinny etc. posts. Are the site’s ratings going down that controversy needs to be started again? We all know that posts such as these are bound to break out in fights and are every troll’s dream. Just saying.

I’m one of those people who think ladies with large hips shouldn’t wear skinny jeans. I have large hips. :p I finally bought a pair of skinny jeans for myself, and I love wearing them. I like mine best with a long sweater/mini dress and I think it looks good for my figure.
I do think that skinny jeans are better on slimmer people in general. The same way that flowy dresses are (in general) better on larger figures.

I dont think skinny jeans are for everyone….skinny or plus sized. They are NOT for everyone.
And skinny jeans, off topic kinda, on guys- weirds me out.

Who says fat women shouldn’t wear skinny jeans? The rest of society that has to look at you.
They’re called SKINNY jeans… not MAKE YOU skinny.
guest
@wolvenchic@xanga - My freshman year of high school was the first time I ever saw a pair of skinny jeans and it was on a guy. I thought he had a leg condition. O.o
guest
@yankeesrock92715@xanga - Then why do stores manufacture them in larger sizes?
guest
Yeah, skinny jeans are not for people who aren’t a billion feet tall and who aren’t pretty much straight-skinny from butt to ankle. I’m sorry, but they don’t round out anyone. They just make people look like upside down cupcakes on toothpicks.
@merquryd@xanga - Straight leg is definitely much better than skinny jeans for most of the American population.
guest
@x_somanysecrets_x@xanga - amen
guest
@HowILiveNow@xanga - Because people would get offended if they didn’t
guest
I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. Plus sized women should not wear skinny jeans. Wearing tight clothes will not make you appear thinner nor do they do anything to complement your figure. I think if you are a full figured women you should embrace that by wearing clothes that flatter your body type. SKinnies… well they don’t.
I’m tired of this whole “plus-size” thing were people think that plus sized people can pull of the same things as thinner people. They can’t. Sorry, but they are a complete different body shape than the people who can pull it off.
I’m not trying to be rude but I’m just speaking the truth. I have tons of plus sized friends who don’t wear skinny jeans. They believe that people like them shouldn’t wear them!
guest
@HowILiveNow@xanga - Well what are the stores main purposes? To make money. They don’t want to make the population stylish or well dressed. They will sell what ever makes them money. Plus if they didn’t sell skinnies in the plus-sized section they would probably get sued for offending the plus sized people.
guest
I think that anyone who wants to wear skinnies should wear them

Wow, I would of never known my opinion would of turned into this!
Well, um… I like skinny jeans because they were a trend when I was in High School and I loved them ever since. It’s my preference, my style and my opinion. I move freely in a great pair of stretch denim skinny jeans and I love how they shape out my legs. Leggings, jeggings, skinnies, I love them all! THANKS FOR THE VIEWS AND OPINIONS THOUGH!

I’m about a 14, and I do wear skinny jeans every once in a while. I wear them under long shirts or short dresses, when my normal jeans would make it look like I’m swimming in my clothes, but I’m showing a bit too much to pull off leggings. Then again, I’m also really short, and I probably wouldn’t even do that if I were taller.
Personally, I usually stay far, far away from them, because they’re just not flattering on me. I don’t think they’re flattering on many people in general though, even skinnier people. All this rudeness from some of the other commenters here is just uncalled for though. Your attitude and confidence is much more admirable than some of the stupid haters here, and I’m sure it shows in real life too!

Lookin’ good! I love skinny jeans so much.
guest
Yeh… as if I’d ever buy padded underwear for my backside, LMAO. Not that I need to, but it’s embarrassing. SOMEONE HAD TO SAY IT!
guest
I love your confidence!! If you love the way they look on you, & you feel great in them, fuck what everyone else says! I for one, think you look great! I’m a size 16-18 & I love & rock skinny jeans. The problem with me is, is that my bum & thighs are thick, but my waist is rather small, so I end up with the gap waist problem most of the time, so I rarely get the muffin top. I find good skinny jeans at Old Navy.
guest
That looks painful
guest
@WannaBeFit73@xanga – That doesn’t even make sense. There are several styles that they don’t manufacture in plus sizes, and no one gets offended. You’re just a bitch. Quit hating. and get some self-confidence for yourself. You could learn something from the OP.
To the OP, I think you look fantastic! I’m plus size but I’ve never liked jeans that taper, they’re just uncomfortable. Most people I know would rather see skinny jeans on a girl who has a little something to show off.
guest
It really depends where all the weight on your body lies.. I’m a 0 so honestly can’t say anything but someone with a giant tummy and thighs should NOT be wearing skinny jeans.. and deff should not try and cover it up by a bigger shirt… we alllll still see the muffin top, wear jeans that fit don’t punish the rest of us.
but on the right plus sized woman and the right fit they can work very well.
guest
@Saridactyl@xanga - I think you got me mixed up with someone else.
guest
I admire that confidence! however, I don’t believe skinny jeans are for everyone. You have to have toned legs and butt to wear them, otherwise I feel like they just look like you’re wedged in and sausage-like, which is super unflattering.
guest
@yankeesrock92715@xanga - If a person is confident when wearing them, they can rock them. It doesn’t matter your size. When I was a size above an 8 I looked great in them, & now that I’m a size below that I look great in them, too.
guest
WHO SAYS PLUZ SIZE WOMEN CANT ROCK SKINNY JEANS??!! well, let me think.. YOUR EYES! COMMON SENSE! YOUR GAG REFLUX?! it just doesnt look right. GOD!
guest
I think you should do what you want, no matter what your size! Who cares what other people think! Have the confidence to rock what you got! I’m tired of this “if you aren’t skinny, you don’t fit the mold, therefore, you are not accepted.” Whatever size you are, rock it and be happy with what you got!
guest
@TequilaKisses@xanga -
I agree.
If you like them and are comfy in them then go for it, but I don’t find the style flattering on you.
I’m a size 12. Runner with runners legs, thick thighs, big hips and a tiny tiny waist, I don’t look good or wear skinny jeans, could I rock them emotionally sure.. but they look like crap on me, why wear them?
guest
Yeah, I’m a Size 4 and wouldn’t feel confident/comfortable enough wearing Skinny Jeans. Love your confidence!!! =) Rock it.

i personally don’t think heavier girls wearing skinny jeans is attractive but hey…i’m not the one that is gonna be looking at them in that way anyways

i think you pull them off quite nicely

I find they make my butt look bigger then I want it too…. I like stright legged jeans on me, and I personally think skinny jeans look worce on skinny people… But I also don’t have great legs, so I don’t like to have things cling to tight to them
Nice booty girl. Good post
guest
I don’t think they look good on anyone… I hate wearing them. When I worked at HCo, I had to wear jeggings, which are basically skinny jeans… and I thought they made my legs look shorter than they really are. Just my opinion, but I don’t think they’re very flattering on any size.
guest
IDGAF
I will put my 23 inch thighs in whatever the fuck I want. Bitches can stay pressed if they don’t like it.
guest
Do what you think looks good on you. Personally, I wouldn’t be caught dead in a pair of skinny jeans.
guest
Personally, I’ve never been fond of the style on anyone. But to me, no one body shape looks better in them than another. Though I do wonder how anyone can wear them… they don’t look comfortable at all. >.<
But then, I think everyone should be able to wear whatever style they’d like (within reason, there are obviously some “fashion” statements that on the average person, I will never quite understand). And someone who likes what they’re wearing tends to “rock it” because it boosts a person’s confidence and mood. So it’s something I like to see.
guest
Uh…your legs are fucking tree trunks lol. You should wear jeans that cover that shit up, not accentuate it. Sorry man, but fat people like you have not, cannot and will not pull off skinny jeans. Ever. I mean unless you lose like 50lbs or something, but in this physical weight, neva.
guest
I don’t like the way skinny jeans look on bigger people (such as myself) because generally, bigger people are big around the bottom or midsection and skinny jeans bring attention to the fact that you’re bigger. If you’re an hour glass or you’re pretty even all the way down (I know some really tall girls who are size 12s and don’t look big at all but size 12 is seen as big), then you’re fine I think.

im sorry, if it looks good ok, wear it. or wear it anyways.
but the fact is, most of the time bigger ppl wearing tight clothes is a little..off putting.. to the public. not because its tiny, but the fat rolls it causes, pinchin in skin, wrinkles, issues bending over, and causing fat to pop up everwhere else. i just dont see how someone could go out like that..
its not whos wearing what, its HOW theyre wearing it. and im sorry. but i dont want to see a bigger person wearing something wayy too small for them. leggings. sweatpants. SHORT SHORTS which are technically undies or should be, included. would you want to see someone skinnys ribs and hip bones sticking out? thats just as ugly. im not saying its Ugly really, but displeasing to see..

umm actually skinny jeans but in dark wash flatter my figure. I wear a dark shirt and those but theyre not skinny skinny jeans they’re made to look that way I wear stretchable pants and look like real button pants (score!) but definately dark shirt like a tiger ed hardy black and dark wash blue ‘skinny’ jeans and black converses. Major score!

REMEMBER GUYS, I’m talking about females sizes 14 to 24
(which aren’t that big of sizes). So I am not referring to extremely obese young women. Any jean size over that, would NOT look good in my opinion due to the fact that their legs would be too large and wide. The legs have to be shapely and toned up.
guest
im so glad you mentioned the stretch jeans. they have a new line of them at kohls, they’re called fragile denim or something, but they fit amaazzing. i have a small ass, not a flat one, just small, so it’s reeeally hard to find pants that will fit around the waist and not sag in the ass, and stretch skinny jeans alwaaays work well. and the whole plus size thing, anyone can rock anything. it’s just like the whole, “big girls shouldnt wear leggings” thing. ive seen a lot of thick women look AMAZING in them, so they can beat feet. if it looks good, wear it.
guest
@yankeesrock92715@xanga - Agreed.
guest
IMO, no one looks good in skinny jeans. They make your (not just you, specifically) ankles look ridiculous and are generally unflattering in the thigh-area. Why not just buy looser-fitting denim that isn’t a hassle to get into and allows you to bend and sit comfortably?!
guest
@SuburbanSweetheart - Agreed. It depends on what you feel or how you think it looks like on you
.
Plus, for everyone who doesn’t know, there’s different types of fits for skinny jeans, that aren’t SUPER tight that you can’t breathe in them, some even fit loose & don’t even look like skinny jeans, but whatever, haters are gonna hate.
guest
In my opinion, skinny jeans don’t look good on anyone. Each to their own though. It’s nice to see someone with confidence
daisy / 699 posts
@Sinful_Soul1@xanga - No hate here at all, but pant sizes past 20 are obese. They are very big pant sizes. It’s not a big deal, I’m not hating on them, but when you said “14-24, which aren’t that big”, it was a bit surprising because it’s incorrect.
guest
I don’t think light wash is the way to go.. I don’t think it’s very ‘flattering’ on you in the first picture.
But you go girl, if you have confidence (and the right attitude), you can rock them(:
cherry blossom / 29 posts
@airbornerose@xanga - I dont think 14 to 24 are that huge. My jean size have been from 14 to 18 and back down to 15/16 throughout my teenage years. (I DO NOT know why many many many people predict I’m a size 9 or 10, they are extremely off!) A friend of mine is a size 22 (sometimes a 20 or 24) and wears skinny jeans. She looks hot in them.
I believe skinny jeans were meant for rocking really nice Nikes or Jordans. It’s the signature urban teenage/young adult New York City style. Skinnies & expensive sneakers
I like it.
daisy / 699 posts
@Sinful_Soul1@xanga - oh I’m not arguing whether skinnies look good on plus sized people. I just think that yes, a size 20 and up is very large. I was a size 16 once upon a time and am down to a 10/12, but I hated being a 16 and I’ve never met anyone wearing a 20+ pant that was small or even medium-sized. There’s nothing -wrong- with it; just because I hated being a size 16 doesn’t mean others have to. And women can definitely rock being a size 20, but they’re not small.
tulip / 15 posts
I know…I used to think that skinny jeans weren’t meant for me (a proud 14/16) but I tried on a pair one day, & I’ve never looked back. I prefer dark washes to the light wash from your picture, but if you get a pair that fit right, they can look good. I have some that are legit skinny-skinny, almost like jeggings (they’re seven7; and I ADORE them; dark wash with a cute fade AND I got them for $19.99 at TJMaxx! comapred to $35 or $40 elsewhere.) and then I have some that are a little looser, tighter than straight legs, but looser than jeggings that are good for the more bloated days around my period. I noticed after I tried them on how much slimmer I looked, and when I changed back into the boot-cut/flared pair I had been wearing before, I noticed how much weight it looked like I was carrying in my thighs because of that flare at my ankle. Skinny jeans make me look taller too; flares and boot-cuts cut me off funny and shrink me about three inches.
They really look cute with most anything; long sweaters, blouses, tank tops–even just a tshirt on my lazy days like today. I have always had a steadfast rule that my pants have to cover my shoelaces/tops of my shoes because my feet look huge otherwise, but I break this rule with skinnies all the time. I love them with chucks, which is sooo strange for me. Or with flats or strappy gladiator sandals. I can’t wear heels because I have poorly structured knees (long story short, my kneecaps like to dislocate at random times) and its a shame ’cause I’m 5’4″
I think the style of jeans you can wear is dependent on the way you carry your weight. If you are REALLY heavy in the thighs/calves, wearing super-tight skinnies can make you look like a sausage in its casing (gross picture, but true). I carry the majority of my weight in my torso and boobs, and my legs are relatively well proportioned, so they don’t look bad on me. As long as they fit well in the waist, I can pull them off.
I’ve even converted my 13 year old sister, who is also a bigger girl and thought she couldn’t wear them. She used to mock me for wearing them, until I got her to put a pair on. She’s only 4’11″, so they really help her look taller and thinner.
The places you mentioned are great places too look, but I found my first pair (and almost all of my subsequent pairs) at DEB. And their skinny jeans are designed for plus-sized girls, so they are structured differently in the waist and thighs for a good fit. Also, places like Torrid might be good to look, although I haven’t been.

@Sinful_Soul1@xanga - Honey, it doesn’t matter what size you or any of the rest of the population are. If there is a trend (i.e. skinny jeans) then anyone can wear it! There aren’t rules that say, “you must be this size to wear these jeans.” Everyone gets to wear anything they want. And I think that if you like those skinny jeans, then you should freaking wear them. I wish every girl on this planet had as much confidence as you! Way to be confident, and way to stick up for bigger girls!

@missnihkii@xanga - Why would I be pissed? What’s there to be pissed about? What she’s wearing is affecting her life, not mines. So what’s there to be pissed about? Hm?
Oh and dumbass, you can’t draw conclusions about my social life and education based solely on my opinion on something that’s completely irrelevant: skinny jeans and her legs.
By the way, I’m in University and…I do have friends!

Good comments and bad, I appreciated them all. I NEVER expected to get this much feedback on a topic I recently discussed with a friend of mine.
This was basically a guideline for thicker girls and how to look good in skinny jeans. Not a blog about why i think skinny jeans are solely for plus sized women. I honestly like jeans that are tight around the calfs and ankles b/c bootcuts and flares DON’T show off my really nice and expensive collection of Nikes Air Maxes, Air Force One’s and the different Jordans I own. That’s the main purpose why I wear skinny jeans.
Less fabric at the bottom to show off my footwear!
I respect EVERYBODY’s opinion and I’m still going to rock my sneakers, sandals and high heels with skinny jeans because TO ME, that’s what they were meant for.
dahlia / 2103 posts
First off, OP: your haircut is freaking awesome! I like the punk-type edge. It would look very sweet in purple
And yes, I do think non-skinny girls can wear skinny jeans and not look like crap, contrary to what some of the very rude comments on this post have said. I haven’t found a pair yet that look good on me but I think that’s because I have crooked legs. And I am not just imagining that. They really are crooked, and skinny jeans basically accenctuate it in a bad way.
Also, the terminology issue: they are not called “skinny” jeans because they are for “skinny” girls, and to say that’s the case makes the person who said it look like a completely rude fucking bitch and also a moron to boot. Seriously. It’s just an ignorant-sounding thing to say.
cherry blossom / 29 posts
@Seclusively@xanga - These tree trunks attract A LOT of woodpeckers and squirrels,if you know what I mean?
lol 95% of the men I’m around (such as places like Brooklyn, NY) like girls with huge asses and thick thighs. And most of these men are Jamaican-Americans or their heritage is from a country in the Caribbean Sea….. But you know, every man have their own preference and different taste in a woman they want to sleep with. But I mainly wear skinnies to show off my cute collection of Nikes and Jordans. Less fabric on the bottom of jeans help show off these expensive babies much more. Most older teens of NYC follow that trend too….
What you are around on a daily basis and what i’m around on a daily basis might be two completely different types of social lives. But my home town, NYC, have different varieties of people so it does not make me prejudice of one particular type of body type, clothing, fashion sense, etc. NYC is so damn eclectic, it’s kind of fun
dahlia / 2103 posts
@Sinful_Soul1@xanga - I didn’t think about the footwear thing, that is another good reason to wear them. I don’t have any expensive sneakers, but I do like to show off my road-weary Converse hi-tops with neon-colored shoelaces at any given opportunity

@needmoreink@xanga - lol, thanks! I live to be edgy and just being different from society at times
& some of the comments may be ignorant but ultimately, they are these people’s opinions. It’s what ever. I’m still going to wear them. I got a whole freakin collection of skinnies! I like em b/c they show off my footwear much better than other jeans.

I personally don’t wear skinny jeans cause I don’t love how they make my legs look. But if someones wants to wear them, then do it, they aren’t meant for skinny people, they’re meant for whoever the hell wants to wear them.
Looking good girl =]

@yankeesrock92715@xanga - @Kendall - @TequilaKisses@xanga -
Fuck you guys. You shouldn’t be judging what other people are wearing. It’s none of your business what size other people are and what they decide to wear.
guest
You know what? I don’t think skinny jeans are particularly flattering on larger women, but go you for wearing them nonetheless! I’m a size twelve, however I have the thighs of an elephant, so I have no confidence whatsoever to wear them no matter how much I wish I could
guest
@Becomingxperfection@xanga - I think you have a problem. I’m sorry for you.
guest
i used to hate pants that were closed at the ankles (like skinny jeans) when i was younger. i loved bell bottoms because it like.. hid and balanced everything haha. but i must admit i do love me my darn “skinny” jeans now. and it does depend on what “shape” you have i guess, not SIZE, just SHAPE not everyone can pull it off, but i do think some big women can pull it off if they balance everything else correctly (shirt, accessories, etc.)
guest
Ehh….ew. I’ve seen skinnies fail on skinny and fat people. If you don’t have a nice round ass, it’s fail. If you have a muffin top, it’s fail.
guest
@Kendall - @thisiszo3@xanga - @yankeesrock92715@xanga - accept what? what is there to accept? the fact that there’s a limitation on what bigger women can wear?
women of all shapes and sizes should be able to wear whatever they want to wear as long as it’s within their comfort zone and not blah out there.
guest
Skinny jeans shouldn’t be skin tight from the waist to below. That’s a look you’d expect for jeggings. They should be “fit” but not skin tight. That’s just gross.
guest
@here_without_you41@xanga - yeah, um, too many “o’s” in your criticism… the word “too” should only have 2 “o’s”.

Maybe, you could re-consider some other more flattering alternative. Not very becoming from the rear.
I wouldn’t be caught dead in them..
guest
@undeclared1@xanga - Fuck me? Wow, way to be so educated and civilized. So sad for humanity.
Many things are so utterly wrong with your arguments:
1. It is none of my business what size the OP is, of course, but when she deliberately submits a post that SAID she’s a plus-sized and writes about it for people to see, then it IS my right to have an opinion and comment on that. Furthermore, I didn’t say what she shouldn’t wear, I stated a “duh” fact that, there are several types of clothing that would flatter different body figures, no need to justify what looks good or not on certain kinds of jeans. DUH.
2. I shouldn’t “judge” what others wear? Wake up church lady, it is not “judging” when one barely comments how something looks, just like many others stated that the jeans looks nice on her, some didn’t. Judging in this case would be more like, “Oh mahhhh lord, you are dead ass poor and you still go shopping for jeans?!?” But of course, no one has said something like that so far because we don’t know the OP personally and who cares what she wears really. People only comment because she wrote a post about it.
Go home. Read a book about Taking a Chill Pill before cussing at others because of your own personal issues. It makes you look stupid and disgustingly vulgar.
guest
I have no ass, so I can’t really pull off skinny jeans, but I think that a darker wash would look better on your figure. Light wash jeans tend to make anyone look bigger, in my opinion
guest
Agreed in both cases. Some plus sized girls just cant pull off skinnys, might be because of the style of skinny or the color, or just their body shapes.
I was always afraid to get skinnys because I thought that they would look ridiculous on me and make me look bigger then I am, but I decided to try some on for vegas one day and they flooked and fit absolutely amazing, my butt looked great, my legs looked long and toned in them, their my new fav jeans! And they look even better with stilettos.
And for plus sized girls that love to wear heels but cant last longer then 2 or so hours in them, Crunch stiletto workout is a great workout to help build and tone the muscles used most when wearing stilettos. After only two 25 min workouts, I was comfortable wearing them all night. Its not only for plus sized girls tho anyone can do it, and it work amazing!

skinny jeans dont look good on all skinny people……so they really don’t even look remotely decent on chubby, fat, big people. Some will agree/disagree but sorry huge thighs and big ass= not cute in skinny jeans.
hydrangea / 93 posts
If you want to wear them, then WEAR them. No one should be able to tell you what to wear. It’s a personal choice. I think if you feel comfortable you should wear whatever you like. Thats what personal style is all about!
and just FYI saying something rude, like that they look “nasty” on larger women followed by “but thats just my opinion” doesn’t make it any less rude.

@Kendall - No, sorry. I don’t follow. Skinny jeans are tight jeans. They’re TIGHT jeans, meaning they can also look like someone who has *GASP* curves. I hope the capitalization helps you understand.
You are still a dumb and I wish you would shut your mouth.
People skinny, curvy, and fat all look great in skinny jeans. From the OP’s pictures you can tell that her waist is much smaller than her hips making the jeans flattering, no muffin top or anything.

I think you shouldnt wear skinny jeans. They’re meant to enhance lovely graceful thighs, not fat and rubbing thunder thighs. In fact, it make them even more obvious. Flared jeans are better for fat people (YEAH I SAID FAT PEOPLE) because it equilibrate the big thighs versus thin ankle.

@Kendall - You should not be concerned with what people think of you, it shows insecurity. You’re obviously not concerned with what people think of you personality wise (everyone calling you a b), that same attitude should carry over to looks.

@Becomingxperfection@xanga - This is really sad, I recommend going somewhere to get psychological help. I’m sure you’re gorgeous just the way you are.
guest
@Sinful_Soul1@xanga - Haha, I’m sorry about the bickering. I just really like arguing and really love love skinny jeans. If I was an evil dictator everyone would be required to wear skinny jeans (except the boys)!
guest
@tru3st0ry@xanga - I don’t need psychological help, I just have a very high standard of beauty.

as long as you have confidence in wearing those type of jeans then good on you
but sometimes i think it looks unflattering on most women that have flab sticking out everywhere

@tru3st0ry@xanga - It’s not a confidence issue. I like looking good in my clothes and I know when I look good and when I don’t. I can have all the confidence in the world and that doesn’t change the clothes and styles I should be wearing. But I appreciate the backing off on the insults.
The OP posted pictures and a blog asking for comments and opinions. That kind of action warrants all kinds of opinions not just the nice ones. People need to remember that.

@Kendall - I’m not getting worked up, I was just giving you some advice! lol. You’re the one getting all psycho. It’s just entertaining messing with you, that’s all.

@Kendall - All I said was that you’re a hateful person. Wahhhhhh go cry some more. And stop telling me to leave you alone as if I’m freaking stalking you or something, YOU keep responding to me!

* “Bitchy comment alert” *
If you read and believed this post, you are delusional.
Either way people will still see and think you are fat.
