Last June, a Lovelyish reader realized what a hottie John Krasinski is when she got a glimpse of him filming a movie in NYC.
Well, the wait is over and the movie is finally being released and I couldn’t be more excited about it.
I’ve read Emily Giffin’s Something Borrowed multiple times and would definitely classify it as one of my favorite reads. If I’m looking to pick up something to read off my bookshelf, I usually turn to the trusty pink, softcover book and can finish it in one or two sittings. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend Something Borrowed, along with all of her other books.
Here’s Amazon’s quick synopsis of the book: Rachel White is the consummate good girl. A hard-working attorney at a large Manhattan law firm and a diligent maid of honor to her charmed best friend Darcy, Rachel has always played by all the rules. Since grade school, she has watched Darcy shine, quietly accepting the sidekick role in their lopsided friendship. But that suddenly changes the night of her thirtieth birthday when Rachel finally confesses her feelings to Darcy’s fiance, and is both horrified and thrilled to discover that he feels the same way. As the wedding date draws near, events spiral out of control, and Rachel knows she must make a choice between her heart and conscience. In so doing, she discovers that the lines between right and wrong can be blurry, endings aren’t always neat, and sometimes you have to risk everything to be true to yourself.
Every time I watch the trailer for Something Borrowed, it makes me want to see it more and more for the following reasons:
- I can totally relate to Rachel’s character
- We’ve already established that I love the book
- John Krasinski
- Colin Egglesfield
Do the last two really need explaining?
Who do you relate to; Rachel or Darcy? Will you see the movie?

this movie looks hella stupid and i can tell from the previews that john’s character is gonna hook up with the brunette. i wish he’d do more movies like ‘brief interviews with hideous men’ or ‘away we go’
