Shape.com recently gave readers the run down on the best fitness apps for the Android phone. And I gotta tell you, they don’t look half bad.

MyFitnessPal’s Calorie Counter and Diet Tracker. Here you can track how many calories you consume and how many calories you burn. The app has a database of over 590,000 foods, and it’s as easy as scanning barcodes to input your food’s nutrition information. And best of all, it’s free.

Authenic Yoga with Deepak Chopra and Tara Stiles.
This app has videos and photos of yoga routines, so you can take your yoga workout wherever your day takes you.

C25K Pro. If you are anything like me, running is one of those things you have never quite mastered. Well this app is here to help. It comes with a full 9-week plan to get you to completing your first 5k, and as you do your daily runs, you can play your own music and receive audible signals to alert you when to switch from running to walking and back. Shape claims it’s a great beginner’s tool to running!

Have you tried any of these apps, or have a favorite yourself? I think I’ll have to give this C25K Pro a shot.
