Miley Cyrus isn’t the only starlet, or even company, to unexpectedly decide to design clothing. While writing my post on Converse earlier this week, I was surprised to discover that Converse has quite the extensive clothing collection as well. It made me want to do some research on some other clothing brands from interesting and unexpected companies and stars…

5. Costco- Alright, maybe this isn’t that surprising. Costco carries everything, and going into any of their stores you can see tables of Kirkland brand jeans and Speedo Swim suits. But when I heard they would be selling wedding dresses, I was surprised. Maybe their clothing brand is reaching a little too far….

4. Converse. I know I mentioned them briefly before, but I have to say- I really like Converse clothing. It’s for sale at Target and other locations, so it’s not hard to find and I really love this sweater. It would look great with jeans and well….my converse! The whole line (at least what’s on Target.com), is focused on being comfortable with just a little bit of a twist- something I think their shoes manage to do as well!

3.Ugg. I know this is another shoe company, but I was more surprised to learn that the company that makes the world’s most comfortable (if not the prettiest) boots also wants to sell me a swim suit cover-up, and a cute one at that. For $150 it is a little too expensive for my beach wear tastes, but mostly I’m just glad they didn’t choose to line it in fleece.

2. Disney. I’ve always known that Disney will sell me cheesy merchandise — the kind that says “I just got back from Disney world!” or “My favorite show is Hannah Montana and I can have her face screen printed on my shirt like an eight year old!” But when I went to Disney on a family trip over winter break, I was pleasantly surprised to discover their Disney Couture brand. Although I never found the shirt above in my size in the park, I’m seriously considering picking it up now that I’m back in the real world. I think it would look great with some leggings and boots, and no one would ever know it’s actually a Disney Store purchase.

1. Random celebrities. From tattoo artist Kat Von D, to Jessica Simpson, to Paris Hilton (whose t-shirt is, obviously, the one picture above) it’s always amazing to me who decides they want to throw their hat in the fashion ring.

What do you think, Lovelies? Did any of these look surprise you? Have you ever run across a clothing brand you loved (or hated), that you would have never thought existed?
