When most people think of sweatpants, we think of baggy, saggy fleece pants that disguise a multitude of flaws. But some designers are suddenly into the “skinny sweatpants” thing, where all that material is hugging your lower half just like a pair of tight skinnies.
What do you think of the “skinny sweatpants” look, Lovelies?

i dont like the sweatpants with heels look.

@andillnevergiveup@xanga - agreed.
I don’t actually like the look of skinny sweatpants either…

Sweatpants and heels. WTF?
daisy / 617 posts
They kinda remind me of thermal underwear.
guest
Thing is, they don’t look that bad (the black ones). However, the title made me dry heave a little
haha
guest
they look comfy but @andillnevergiveup@xanga - i agree, i wouldn’t wear them with heels

These might be okay, I guess. But the point of sweatpants I thought was to be warm and comfy. How exactly do you stay warm when you hardly have any material?
Sweatpants (skinny or not) and heels though are not okay.
guest
i think they might have looked okay if they weren’t paired with heels… i think i’d like them for when i wanna bum it and throw on my uggs and a hoodie and go to class.
guest
i prefer my sweatpants baggy
guest
i think there kinda cute the black ones but I WOULD NEVER wear them haha
i prefer my sweatpants 2 sizes too big and extremely baggy : )
guest
Nah, I think these are just downright ugly.
guest
just, no.
no.

I might wear these to work out in- my legs are long and sweatpants tend to flap around the ankle and let air in. But never with heels.
guest
gwen stefani made sum really nice ones id rock with some chucks.. but i havent been able to find a pair like em
guest
I can’t think of any time or way that I would wear those.
guest
I kinda like them.. I’d wear them =]

I don’t personally like the sweatpants with heels look, but I don’t mind the sweatpants. Especially the ones in the first picture, I think they’re cute! While I wouldn’t be able to just lounge around in them as I would with traditional sweatpants, they are definitely a nice alternative to skinny jeans, or jeans in general. —A nice way to look somewhat presentable, yet comfy!

lollipop stick ankles :S

They’re kinda cute, minus the band at the bottom.
guest
I love them! But not with heels.
guest
minus the heels, i like them. they’re like leggings with a more sweat pant fabric. i dig.
guest
They’re great… FOR WORKING OUT.
Seriously… people need to stop making sweatpants trendy or chic… it’s just stupid.
guest
All skinny jeans/jeggings/sweats are fucking ugly and I want them to burn.
guest
gonna have to try the whole sweatpants and heels thing next time i go to work out…. NOT. wth?! this is ridiculously ugly!
guest
i love them. i have a pair that i used to wear to pilates (now i just wear them whenever). i like that they’re fitted. i have another pair of regular sweatpants that, if you don’t wash them hourly, they get saggy in the butt. i hate that. the skinny sweats are almost like leggings, but thicker, so it’s not so…exposing. and i never experienced “crotch sweat” even while working out =P
guest
I feel like this just defeats the purpose of sweatpants…
guest
I’ve never worn my sweatpants baggy. loose, but never baggy. I’d wear them around the house or to work out but never as a fashion statement…not even as an ironically bad one.
guest
The whole point of sweat pants are the baggy, comfy feeling -.-
These are basically thermal pants. Fail.
guest
I want some<3
But of course I’d wear them with my rainbows. I can’t walk in heels, any way.

I think they’re cute but I wouldn’t wear them with heels. I’d wear them to work out or hang about the house because they look comfy and stylish. I like the top pair the best, the others don’t appeal to me.
guest
@ohveryoung@xanga -
YES! They DO look like thermal underwear! You are so right.
hydrangea / 92 posts
Um. Not really sure how this differs from a legging…but I like it! I’d give it a go.
guest
I can’t put my finger on it but something about them looks super uncomfortable to move around in.
guest
Ha, I was behind someone in body sculpting class today who had a pair of these on, and, yes, major sweat crotch was going on!
If someone has long, thin legs, feel free to rock these. On my short, muscular legs- extra bulk, even in a slim cut, is not welcome.
guest
YES PLEASE!!! I’m definitely into comfort right now and probably will be until my second is born and I can get in shape again. I love the looks of these!!!
guest
I’d wear them :] Baggy sweatpants make me look shorter and stockier than I already am, and I’d probably wear fur-trimmed boots with a concealed heel, like they look flat but they make me a few inches taller, just to make my legs look a little longer. I’d wear a fitted hoodie with it, and my usual messy bleach blonde hair.
guest
omg, these look super-comfy, actually. like super-thick leggings! But seriously, heels? I would wear these barefoot, with a tank top and baggy cardigan, while bumming around my apartment on a Sunday doing homework and making soup in the crock pot, lol…
guest
I like them. But because of my body shape I probably wouldn’t wear them. And as far as the wearing them with heels thing; I like them in the bottom picture. It’s skinny jeans with heels meets – soft and comfy.
But to be honest I think the BIGGER POINT IS why wear the skinny sweatpants with heels to begin with, if you’re relaxing on the couch or running on a treadmill y’know??
guest
@ohveryoung@xanga - exactly.
skinny jeans, skinny sweats…whatever happened to “fat clothes?” Those are just as necessary imo. lol
guest
not enough spandex in the material so it isn’t figure flattering, but rather hideous. gray colored fabric whether it be sweat pants or a gray dress shirt isn’t ideal for sweaty people to wear in general.
guest
My husband has a pair of sweatpants like those. They’re for keeping him warm when he’s hunting.
This isn’t new. It’s just got “fashion” slapped onto it.
@ohveryoung@xanga - Exactly. It’s because they ARE thermal underwear. :p

I have a few that I wear in the comfort of my own home…and occasionally outside (like once, I wore it during yoga).

“skinny’s” are for jeans.

i bought two pairs like five months ago and i love them. they’re like comfy, but don’t make me look extremely trashy. and they’re easy to mooove in, without always tripping over the bottoms.
guest
@diannisforever@xanga - AHH these would look banging with chucks! Good idea.
