Soon paying $17.00 to see a 3D movie may be a thing of the past. Alright, so maybe the idea of downloading 3D movies right to your cell phone is still a little ways off, but LG Electronics seems excited about the possibility.
At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which is actually just what it sounds like– a bunch of tech companies getting together and discussing cell phones, LG Electronics had something to brag about. They released the Optimus 3D, the worlds 1st 3D phone. Although most of the phone won’t operate in 3D, it will allow its users to take 3D video and photos using a special camera lens.
Although LG didn’t say when the phone would be available in US markets or what carrier(s) it would be on, this is most likely the first in a long line of 3D phones, which makes myself, and others, wonder if there is a market for such a product.
What do you think? Is the 3D cell phone a good idea or are you sick of the 3D trend? How much would you pay for the LG Optimus? Got a better design idea for a cell phone? I don’t have the power to make suggestions to the Mobile World Congress– but I’d love to hear what you’d have to say!

It seems to me that right now a lot of people multi-task with their phones. They watch movies while talking to other people in the room who can’t even see the movie and things like that. I think that making a phone 3D would isolate the watcher even more from the outside world.

But why? Pshh my next phone will be a Trac-phone. I’d rather save up for my future than spend $100 a month on calls. If someone wants to talk to me, they can stop by my room.

Eeeeh no thanks. I mean its pretty awesome but I prefer to watch 3D movies in the theater with the volume turned up. Not on a little screen and so on.

I’ll stick to my basic phone that just lets me take okay-quality pictures, text, and call. I don’t need all that extra other crap.
