Whenever plus-sized model Crystal Renn gains/loses a single pound, the world wide web and blogosphere are up in arms:

“The shrinking plus-size supermodel’ Crystal Renn is the new face (and legs and… feet) for Jimmy Choo – here’s the beauty and her slender figure in the vibrant ads!”

“Here’s plus-size straight-size model Crystal Renn in a wide range of denim outfits on the pages of Vogue Germany.”

Renn has stated previously that natural weight loss occurred as she slowly integrated exercise back into her daily routine.

I  used to workout obsessively for 8 hours a day,” she admits to People magazine. “Now, I want to do something fun that’s good for my body.”

Dodai Stewart, a write for Jezebel.com, sums up the controversy best. “In general, [Renn] sounds extremely intelligent, well-spoken and clear of mind. It’s obvious she’s left her unhealthy behavior and self-loathing in the past.”

Stewart goes onto suggest that Renn’s model card states her size as “2″ to appeal to a wider clientele. These days Renn’s agency, Ford, uses her as both a plus and straight size model.

“Because of my size currently, I straddle this line between the two worlds — i guess you could say I’m a plus size straight size model. I am four inches smaller than a plus size model and four inches bigger than a straight size model.”

“No matter what size you are, the most important thing is health — and you can be healthy at many different sizes.”

“I didn’t make the rules, I am breaking them.”
