A 49-year-old British woman has gotten the full cast of “Twilight” inked across her back, claiming the movies helped her lose 100 lbs.
Cathy Ward, from Reading, spent £2,000 on her first tattoo ever, sitting in the chair for 22 hours to get Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart permanently etched into her back.
Ward says getting sucked into the Twilight series helped her stop overeating, which led her to drop from a size 24 to a size 10. She would work out at home while watching the movies and listening to the soundtracks.
Would you get a Twilight back tattoo, Lovelies?

“Would you get a Twilight back tattoo, Lovelies?”
……………..
guest
No, I would never get inked in Twilight. However, I do not like Twilight. If I were crazy enough I’d get a pic of Eddie Vedder or maybe even Robert Smith tatted on my ass, but then again I’m not into photos that resemble people or words being etched into my skin. But I have been inspired by the two artists via their music. I do have two tatts one of a cross made of purple roses and another is just a few purple roses in bloom. What can I say? I like roses and I like purple.
guest
absolutely not.
guest
alright, i love twilight, but that’s excessive.
this is kind of like when oprah said that twilight saved marriages…what?
guest
i bet her butt is saggy.

Props to the tattooist, it’s a good bit of artwork.
I, however, would rather poke my own eyes out than spend £2000 and 22 hours on something like that. I guess if it means something to her though, and she’s happy with it, then why not let her enjoy herself?
Also, good for her for losing all that weight, although I really think she should give HERSELF the credit, not just that which inspired her.
guest
I wouldn’t but that’s only because Twilight doesn’t mean that much to me, but if it means a lot to her than whatever. I think it looks really pretty though
guest
Good for her.
orchid / 177 posts
No. She’s like a 14 year old girl with too much money.
guest
Watch the series die out, and she’ll gain back double those pounds. Now I’d like to see that tattoo stretched.
magnolia / 1042 posts
@Pretty_in_Pink8604@xanga - exactly! obviously it means a lot to this woman. and the tat artist did a crazy awesome job!!
idk why people are so disgusted by twilight tattoos. people get tattoos of things that mean something to them. if twilight means that much to someone then more power to them. stop drinking that haterade you assholes.
guest
yikes, i would never do that but congrads to her for getting healthier…
guest
What’s the point of losing all that weight if you’re just going to cover your body with that godawful tattoo?
sunflower / 392 posts
Wow. That is a really detailed tattoo and it’s very nicely done. I wouldn’t get a Twilight tattoo because I’m not a huge fan, but if it means that much to her, props to her and the tattoo artist for all the time and money spent on it.
orchid / 190 posts
o wow. aren’t there better ways to appreciate a movie series??
guest
Nope I’ll never. But I guess probably she had tried many ways to slim down but failed and yet Twilight really made her life change drastically that’s why she’s willing to get inked with something that’s totally… *speechless*
guest
wow
guest
this was a stupid title!! lol and pretty nuts but its her body so heyyy!
guest
Hell no.
rose / 812 posts
@Pretty_in_Pink8604@xanga - @beebizzle@xanga - Agreed.
Tattoos are supposed to represent something that means a lot to you, and if Twilight means this much to her then shut up about it already. Its a nicely done tattoo.
guest
Oh my God.
guest
I don’t get why everyone is so disgusted. Just because you don’t like Twilight, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a big impact on other people. Let her be. It’s her money and her life, and good for her if it inspired her to change her lifestyle.
guest
wow. that’s ridiculous.
guest
@individually_surveys@xanga - right onnn
guest
That tattoo is badass. The detail looks incredible. I’m a Twilight fan, but no, I would never get a tattoo of something like that. If it means that much to her, then let her be! Good grief!

Different things help people lose weight, stop smoking, stop biting their nails, get rid of stress… whatever. And if Twilight is what helped her then Cool!!! People should be allowed to express themselves however they want. No judgement. I wouldn’t personally get a huge tattoo. But I wont judge her because she did.

@individually_surveys@xanga - agreed
guest
WHAT THE FUCK
guest
I would never get a tattoo that large but good for her losing all that weight. =D
guest
@JoyElizabeth82@xanga - haha. yes.
why is edward on there like 3 times? wtf.
guest
lmao
sunflower / 251 posts
If it makes her happy, who am I to judge?
guest
i think the picture above the mirror explains it all.
guest
hah! I love it. No i wouldnt get that tat, but then again I dont really like twilight like that.
I always told myself though that when I get old im just gonna ink my body up because I can. I mean its not like it will be youthful anymore. You gotta decorate those old walls! haha good for her. and it looks nice.
guest
Three people isn’t a full cast.
orchid / 182 posts
Omg…. is that her butt crack?? eek.
guest
It’s awesome she found something inspiring enough to help her lose that much weight. Wow. But I would probably never tattoo myself like that. Especially not something so huge.
guest
I can’t say that I’ve ever thought about getting any tattoos related to movies, tv, or actors/actresses. I haven’t thought much about tattoos at all. However, if she’s that dedicated to the movies because they helped her achieve a life goal, then I guess that’s fine for her. No one else has to live with it except her.
guest
Wow. That’s impressive.
hydrangea / 86 posts
LOL! I’M RECING THIS BECAUSE I CAN SEE THE TOP OF HER BUTT CRACK.
Who has a quarter? Seriously, WHO HAS ONE?!
guest
YUCK! There is nothing cool or interesting or sexy about that.
guest
Amazing feat, however, that’s there forever. No actor is worth being forever on your body. And those are horrible movies. Glad she lost the weight… but a tattoo of twilight? No. And she could have watched any other movie while on her tredmill, you know? Any other soundtrack too. Ug.
guest
Hells no. I despise Twilight.
guest
it’s her body. and everyone is inspired by different things. I wouldn’t get that tattoo.
magnolia / 1369 posts
at least it looks good.
hydrangea / 55 posts
Atleast she can tell how they’ll look in their 80′s before they know it, LOLL.
guest
I mean, she lost 100 pounds, so that’s awesome. At the same time, I would never get a fad tat like Twilight and I would never get a tat of something just because it helped me lose weight.
guest
I don’t like Twilight, but that’s an amazing tattoo and an amazing inspiration.
guest
@lonelystrangergirl@xanga - BAHAHAHA
daisy / 696 posts
There are men in Japan who go through full back tattoos. They’re called Yakuza. They called and are demanding that their ritual not be sullied with the vileness of Twifail.
guest
I wouldn’t do it, but hey it helped her live a healthier lifestyle…. whatever works!
orchid / 217 posts
Wow! This is crazy!
sunflower / 334 posts
Lovelyish always finding the classy pictures and stories that are important to 120 lb people’s lives.
guest
It’s her body so whatever haha. But it is not a thinspo tattoo. She’s not trying to say that starving yourself is good, she is trying to say that it helped her to stop over eating. Not over eating and starving yourself are totally different things.
guest
No, but this story, while I think twilight is an abomination to literature, this story is very nice. I’m glad that it helped her lose the weight.
guest
So I guess when she dies her body will rot alongside the faces of the cast members. OK, great!
daisy / 507 posts
not cool at all
guest
Twilight no. Daniel Radcliffe….maybe
guest
i mean, i’m happy for her, but…is that really necessary?!
because, in that case, i’m about to get the cast of harry potter tattooed on my bum.
daisy / 699 posts
Way to misuse the word “thinspo”.
guest
creepy.
guest
It looks like she has a big tattoo on her bicep too, so this obviously wasn’t her first.
guest
omg what a weirdo
guest
People have different things that inspire them. If this is one of them to her then good for her.
hydrangea / 81 posts
crazy
guest
she’s a hardcore twilight fan. I havent even watched the movie yet !
guest
L O L
guest
She could have lost weight watching any other movie. As far as I know, there were no subliminal messages in the movies telling her to work out, so they didn’t really help much…. And even if there were, is an entire back tattoo really necessary? I think not. I wouldn’t do that for my favorite anything.
guest
nice story, but omg no tattoo for me
sunflower / 437 posts
>first tattoo ever
look at her arm in the mirror, kids, she’s got another.
guest
That’s it. I’m going to spend the rest of my life rocking back and forth in the fetal position and muttering to myself.
guest
that’s just dumb. I like that she lost weight… but the tattoo? really? overkill
guest
her first tattoo? i see one on her arm in the mirror…
orchid / 116 posts
We all get inspiration from different places. Even though I would never do what she did, good to her for getting in shape. Working out is hard work lol
guest
wow – people’s stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
guest
I don’t like twilight, but i think it’s brilliant that she found something to help her.
I read about this sometime early last year, in a magazine. I thought it was great, she’s happy and has her confidence back. Good for her
guest
weird
guest
Finally something good came out of that series. This woman was inspired by it enough to lose a hundred pounds, so I’m really impressed by her.
Also, the tattoo itself is very well done. It’s like, photo quality beautiful, so good on her for that too!
Inspiration is where we find it, people. So is beauty. Those who made nasty comments about this woman’s body would probably be better people if they remembered that.
guest
Wow that’s amazing and a nice tat.. I love Twilight and tattoos, but I would never get a Twilight tattoo.. especially a back piece, but that’s just me
guest
I never read twilight or watched any of the movies, but that is a BEAUTIFUL piece of art work.
Clearly the book’s and movies meant a lot to this women.
I have two tattoos that were hand drawn for me and I’m sure people look at them sometimes and say
“WTF” but they mean a lot TO ME.
Personally, I support her in this. But it’s not really thinspo, it’s her marking something in her life that helped her achieve a goal of better health.
- Me
guest
I don’t like Twilight, due to being a grown-up with no desire to act like a teenager.
I have, however, considered getting a tattoo of a particular flower from one of my favorite books. If you’re really into something, and want a tattoo that represents that interest, go for it. But don’t be surprised when people who dislike your interest get a certain impression of you from it.
Also, I’d hardly call this “thinspo.” Thinspo is for people who want to reach an unhealthy weight, and/or have unhealthy self-images. This was healthy weight-loss inspiration — like people whose children or education or health is their inspiration for losing weight.
guest
she’s probably gonna regret it in a couple of years.
1) because the tattoo is ugly as hell (just my opinion, but yea there are billions of drawings/pics that look better than that, and most of them dont include a movie’s cast);
2) because tattooing yourself with a pic of someone u dont know and have never met is incredibly risky. who knows what Twilight will represent in the future? maybe there’ll be a huge scandal tomorrow and we’ll find out the Twilight author or actors are really nazis. then she’ll be the idiot with a Twilight tattoo.
guest
I showed this to my mom and all she said was… “she didn’t put any wolves on her back.”
lol. well hope she doesn’t gain it back then!
tulip / 13 posts
I agree with @individually_surveys@xanga.
This article poses a silly question. Of COURSE no one would get a Twilight tattoo on their back if they are not a fan of Twilight (or tattoos for that matter.) What you can’t deny is 1) the artwork is BEAUTIFUL and 2) Losing that much weight is an incredible achievement that meant a great deal to her. If Twilight is what helped her throughout her journey, I say good for her! Get that ink!
I understand the question was asking if the reader, personally, would do it. My answer is no, but that doesn’t mean I think any less of this woman for doing something I wouldn’t do.
guest
gross… but good for her for losing the weight I suppose!
guest
haha nice crack
guest
I’d rather be skinned alive.
guest
no i am not a twilight fan but i think its outrageous that you people feel that you can critisise this woman for her choice of ink because unlike all the other morons who decide to get dragons tattooed because they look rockin’ and cool, she has an actual reason behind hers.
i bet this tattoo means the world to her because of its symbolic value.. and itll probably prevent her from gaining weight too so she wont stretch it out.
guest
Kudos to the tattooist — I like the art in the upper right-hand corner.
guest
I agree with many, that, whoever the artists was, he or she did an AMAZING job. If she didn’t do this already, I would do it first! Just because it is so beautiful. I wish something could motivate me that much
sunflower / 323 posts
well .. i’m glad it helped her to stop overeating to wow … the tattoo .. seriously?
guest
Why am I not surprised that she has a picture of a cat hanging from her wall?
orchid / 197 posts
at least she lost weight and became healthier, that is far more important than the twilight tattoo on her back.
guest
No. That is just….no. *facepalm*

FUCK NO I would NOT! Its none of my bisness to bash the lady.. >< Ohh..
guest
hell noo

Hey whatever motivates you and keeps you motivated.

I definitely would not get a twilight tattoo, especially not one that big. I doubt that I would EVER get a tattoo that big, of anything.
guest
@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga - PAAAAAAhahahahahaha! Exactly.
guest
First tattoo ever… What’s on her upper arm in the mirror reflection? It looks to out of place to be with the Twilight tattoo. The piece is well done, but that’s excessive, put a poster on the wall.
guest
It’s a pretty decent tattoo, nice detail. Such a shame it’s that.
I mean, it’s up to her though. But…
Ummmhmm…
guest
That wasn’t her first tattoo ever. If you look at her shoulder, the back piece swerves around the lily on her shoulder.
guest
it’s a sweet tattoo, but maybe she could have gotten a poster?
orchid / 129 posts
I would pay money to see the tattoo artists reaction when s/he heard what she wanted
guest
I don’t care how much you hate twilight you gotta admit that tat is amazing and the story that goes along with it.
She found what works for her so I’m happy for her.
guest
No denying that the tattoo was skillfully done, and really a great work of art… but I’ll go with the opinion that it’s quite excessive, and still if i liked something that much I’d rather ask someone to sketch or paint a picture of it (or do it myself) to hang on the wall than get it inked into my skin. But that’s just me.

The only thing more impressive than losing 100 lbs because of twilight is the thousands of husbands lost over twilight.

why wouldn you even consider getting an actor’s face tattooed on your body, let alone 3 from a terrible movie series? actresses and singers inspire me to lose weight, but i’m not gonna put their faces on my back…
