Here at Lovelyish, we’re always looking for new ways to embrace the Xanga community and really get everybody involved. Since we love reading all the comments just as much as you do, we thought it would be a fun idea to take a little sneak peak into the lives of some of our favorite readers!

Wouldn’t you like to know a little bit more about the person behind the avatar that’s bringing us such great advice and opinions? We know we would! So what better way to cure those Monday blues than a little Q & A with erotyka@xanga!

Lovelyish: What’s your real name, age (only if you feel up for sharing), and where are you from?
I’m Emma, I’m 16, and I’m English, although I live in Scotland as my mother brought me up here when I was fairly young I still maintain that I’m English. People constantly confuse this.

L: What do you do when you are not cruising through Lovelyish, reading posts and offering up advice?
In my spare time, I play World of Warcraft. This is why I am so pale. I like to call it a gamer’s tan, others call it a lack of social skills. Optimism is always the winner ;)

L: What made you want to create a Lovelyish/Xanga account?
I created a Xanga account YEARS before I was legally able to (age etc) but it got hacked when I was about 12, so I’ve since abandoned it. Started up my current one about a year ago and have heavily neglected it. When I first started, I was quite the stereotypically depressed overuse-of-emoticons emo kid. So I thought I was good at writing very miserable literature, and I wanted to share my near-suicidal thoughts with everyone. I’m such a cheery person.

L: If you could change one thing about Lovelyish what would it be? And why?
A little more emphasis in British fashion and beauty would be nice. I’m sick of dollar signs. I want some GBP damnit! Online shopping’s no fun when it can’t be shipped to your country :(

L: How would you describe your personal style?
Oh this is a tough one. Punk/emo/vintage/jock/metalhead/raver. I’m a bit of a mash-up. I certainly get some odd looks when I go out, especially with the hair! (Yes, Lovelies, that’s my real hair. I flipped the rainbow horizontal now. The vertical was just out of sheer laziness.)

L: If you could only take 3 items to a deserted island, what would they be?
Well presuming this island doesn’t have a broadband connection, a shotgun, a litre of whiskey and a lack of hope. KIDDING. I’d take my hard-duty hairbrush, a lifelong supply of cigarettes and an MP3 player that never ran out of battery power. Guess I’d get sick of the music though. 3 things is just so little! :(

L: What was/is your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject… difficult for so many reasons. I slept through 3 years of geography and the teachers never noticed, and passed with a B… I really enjoyed craft and design because I could build some awesome stuff… I think right now, my favorite has to be maths. Calculus is really challenging, and I enjoy that challenge.

L: What was your biggest fashion faux pas?
There’s SO many. A frequent offender of mine is not wearing enough clothing and realizing you’re flashing the food delivery guy. It’s gotten me some damn cheap food before, but I wouldn’t recommend that… On other people, I see so many teenagers doing stupid things. A consistent one is foundation and powder over the lips. It just looks so ridiculous for day-to-day wear! Avant garde catwalks can get away with it. Acne-ridden Scottish schoolgirls can’t.

L: Where wold you be your dream place to travel?
My dream place to visit would be Finland. I have such an obsession! I’ve wanted to be an electronic engineer since I was about 4… ever owned a Nokia phone? Thank Finland for that. I want to go because it’d be great for work, but also it’s such a beautiful place. So much snow! I don’t get much where I am just now, once every 9 years according to my mother. :(

L: Do you collect anything? If so, can you tell us?
Posters, bottles, cigarette butts (in Pringles cans, ftw!), train tickets, concert tickets, anything leopard print & Sims 2 expansion packs. I have every Sims 2 expansion that was ever released, except that one that was only ever released in Asia. It would have all been written in a different language and I wouldn’t have been able to install it. :(

L: What/Who is your guilty pop culture pleasure?
I’m awfully into Lady Gaga, but I wouldn’t say that’s a guilty pleasure, I’m rather proud! The one thing I truly am ashamed of, is liking ‘Sleepyhead’ by Passion Pit. Oh, and sorry to say it, but I kind of love Adidas, specifically the John Scott collections.

Thanks Emma for indulging our curious minds! Happy Monday Lovelies!
