If you’ve just decided you want to dress up for Halloween after all but are feeling a bit uninspired by the limited selection, look no further. All of us at Lovelyish are pretty excited about Halloween, and you’ll find all the good stuff here (on the cheap!) with these costume ideas.

1. Fifi Lapin

For the fashionistas or those looking for a little class, ditch the Playboy Bunny look and dress as the chic blogger Fifi Lapin. Her wardrobe may only consist of designer pieces, but it’s an excuse to dress to the nines – or challenge yourself to do some runway on-the-cheap looks. (P.S. If you do, make sure you tell us about it, okay?)

What You’ll Need:

  • A chic outfit
  • Bunny ears
  • A Fifi brooch pin for a visual – or maybe just a cute printout

As a cuter alternative to the standard fuzzy bunny ear headband, you can make your own fashionable lace version using this tutorial from Monoxious, or a quick version from Behind The Seams. Both are inspired by the Maison Michel ears seen on Gaga and the Olsens…which go for $400+!

Or, as Monoxious suggests, you can reshape the ears into mouse ears. It could also be cute for cat ears!

2. Sailor

Put a spin on our DIY French Girl costume by swapping your beret for a sailor hat and taking a cue from those pin-up girls.

What You’ll Need:

  • Striped shirt
  • Shorts (optional: sheer tights)
  • Flats or wedge heels
  • Sailor’s hat

Sequin Sailor’s Hat, $10 at Amazon

Forever 21 Sailor Shorts, $17.80

3. Charlie Brown

Who doesn’t like this kid? The best part is, the shirt is the main focus so you can add your own accessories.

What You’ll Need:

  • Plain yellow or orange tee
  • Black duct tape (or other matte black tape) to make the zig-zag pattern
  • Black shorts

Merona Ultimate Women’s Crewneck Tee in Nepal Moss, $8

Mossimo Supply Co. Juniors V-Neck Pocket Tee in Camellia, $8

If the thought of going out in short sleeves is a deal-breaker, Mossimo also has long-sleeved alternatives in yellow and orange, $10 each. You can also try a solid yellow or orange dress for a feminine twist.

4. Tom Cruise in Risky Business/The Walk of Shame

I was reading through the comments here on Lovelyish and one lovely reader mentioned that her Risky Business costume was mistaken for a Walk of Shame costume. Really?! I doubt the Tulsa 66ers dance team (above) had that in mind…

Yes, the 80′s were a long time ago, but let’s not forget the iconic moments (or reenact them in Guitar Hero commercials).

What You’ll Need:

  • Oversized white button-down
  • White shorts or boxers…come on, you didn’t think I was going to suggest you go in briefs, did you?
  • White socks
  • Optional: Ray-Bans (or similar)
  • Killer dance moves

If you’re still in doubt, anything goes! You’re sure to find something – even if it’s an old sports uniform in the back of your closet, or a makeup tutorial that makes you look like a rockstar. And if you need more inspiration, we’ve got loads of Halloween ideas for you to try!

Have a fun and safe Halloween, Lovelies!

Are you dressing up this year, Lovelies? What are some good last-minute costumes?
