Here at Lovelyish, we’re always looking for new ways to embrace the Xanga community and really get everybody involved. Since we love reading all the comments just as much as you do, we thought it would be a fun idea to take a little sneak peak into the lives of some of our favorite readers!
Wouldn’t you like to know a little bit more about the person behind the avatar that’s bringing us such great advice and opinions? We know we would! So what better way to cure those Monday blues than a little Q & A with not3000!
1. What’s your real name, age (only if you feel up for sharing), and where are you from?
My name’s Fernanda Lucila (after two of my great-grandmothers), I’m 21 years old and I’m from Mexico, originally from a small city that borders with Texas.
When I’m not reading articles on Lovelyish, I’m probably working on my sketchbook (where I also keep ads and photos I particularly like .. whether they’re from magazines or from online webs) or doing something related to school… whether it is being at school or sanding down something, or trying to model an object on some kind of software I barely understand hah
The What’s Your Investment Piece? post. I wrote about this wonderful Ralph Lauren dress I got way back in 2003 and how it is such a timeless piece. I tried to encourage others to find a particular piece to invest in, something that, no matter the price, will become a staple in your daily wear.
If I could change something it would be commenting without having to be logged in. I recently moved to blogspot, but I still come to Lovelyish a couple of times a week to read the posts and I would like to comment with my blogspot domain.
My personal style is mostly inspired, by vintage silhouettes. High-waisted, full, A-line skirts which I like to combine with either cute/funny tshirts or simple/plain tank tops. Oh, and with dramatic shoes.
Actually, my first post published on Lovelyish is about this hah .. My five essential beauty products are (1) Nivea’s Goodbye Cellulite Gel-Cream, (2) Cetaphil Daily Facial Skin Cleanser, (3) Origins Clear Improvement clay mask, (4) John Frieda Collection, the products for curly hair (but I haven’t been able to find them here where I live, so I have to wait to go back on a trip to my hometown to cross to the states and refill my stash–for the meantime, they’ve been replaced by Fructis Garnier products, and they’re working out great, too), and (5) Petroleum Jelly.
Hmm, this is the toughest question so far. I think I would have Elie Saab make my wedding gown (even though that’s still very far off in the future). It would be ethereal, fairy-like, but not over done .. it would be very delicate, as if looking at it could unravel it.
8. What was your biggest fashion faux pas?
Oh my … where to begin? First, the dresses over jeans, I don’t know why I ever thought that was “cool”. Second, wearing pointy toed shoes –meant for the office– when I was in 8th grade. Third, matching skirt-and-shirt sets from Limited Too. I could go on and on and on. It’s taken me a very long time to get to where I am now, style-wise.
I’m going to make a mix, because I can’t stick to only one: 1950s-1960s with a little bit of dramatic colors from the 1980s.
Besides my shoes, my most prized article of clothing would probably have to be that Ralph Lauren black, backless dress. With the correct accessories, it can be formal and semi-formal, and even though I’ve already worn it about 6 times, I’m sure it’s still got plenty of wear to come.
Thanks Fernanda (a.k.a. not3000) for indulging our curious minds! Happy Monday Lovelies!
