If you’re a beauty/fashion junkie (which, you must be, or else you wouldn’t be on the fabulous Lovelyish), then, surely, you know of Luuux – the website that is replete with user-created content on both subjects (and a bit more, as well).

Here, users can procure points upon commenting on others’ posts within the website, or even adding their own posts.

Accrue serious pointage and you will be rewarded handsomely (or, beautifully, rather) with prizes – including Louis Vuitton purses, iMacs, Christian Louboutin shoes – anything luxe (hence the name).

Sure, this all sounds great initially, but the prospect of acquiring these types of prizes based solely upon how many points you’ve earned may have an impact on the quality of posts written – essentially, users are able to post nearly anything in order to gain points. Sounds like a competition to me!

The site, for now, is not heavily patrolled, and there aren’t any real, quality control checks in place on added content (not to mention loading time between site pages is painfully laggard).

I’m not sure about you, but I’d much rather frequent a site that has a more mature feel to its content, while not being overtly formal. Even if it doesn’t come with “prizes.”

Do you have a Luuux account? If so, how do you feel about it?
