I have a jean line, you know, the part across one’s hips from wearing low rise skinny jeans. Yes, that line also known as the muffin top. I’m one of many girls who fell into the barbaric trend of pelvic squeezers.
I’m a five foot nine, tall, naturally skinny female who managed to wedge herself into Barbie-small jeans for her entire high school adventure.
I was too poor to get jeans that actually fit, thus the preteen pants that turned my hips into hip monsters. Somethings just should never be repeated, but what about the trend of buying these skinnies and wearing them? People pay loads of money for the look that could potentially harm any chance of have a vaginal birth, or loose feeling in their legs.
That is, if they worship the skinny jean trend for long amounts of time. When I see young ladies walking around in the “hip restraints,” all I can think of are their hips getting split and their pelvic bones being warped. Strange, I know but it worries me greatly.
Skinny jeans are not worth your curves.
Do you agree with me?
guest
The skinny jeans that end up fitting me actually fit well across my stomach and just hug my hips and thighs the way I need them too. It’s probably more of girls buying them a size too small. Because my thighs are so much bigger than my stomach anyway, I have to buy them so they’re bigger around my waist so that they fit my hips and thighs. So, they’re relaxed around the waist and shape my legs nicely. I must just have a body for them.

My “skinny” jeans fit me normal? They don’t look painted on like the above. Those look more like colored jeggings.
orchid / 211 posts
Maybe you should just learn to buy clothes that fit you.
guest
why don’t you just buy jeans that fit you…? i have skinny jeans and they fit just fine because i bought them to snuggly fit on my hips. as long as you get the right size then they aren’t going to ‘warp your pelvic bones’

@FreeYourFears@xanga - @holdthekeys@xanga - She did say that she was too poor to get jeans that fit her.
My ass could never fit into that..>.> it’s too big lol

I love my skinny jeans. Then again, I’m very short so wide jeans make me look shorter. Skinny jeans actually fit me all right.
guest
my skinny jeans fit me like a glove and I love the way they look on me but they are rather too tight fitting and I have a pair of super skinny jeans where I can’t really sit down because I can’t bend my knees
they fit me perfectly and hug my curves but aren’t practical for everyday wear. I just need to buy the skinny jeans that have more spandex material like the jeggings, which I don’t like because I like the thicker denim texture of jeans. I usually just wear my straight legged jeans that give more space to bend my knees
guest
i can’t stand if my jeans are too tight. i like skinny, but not THAT skinny. and they need to stretch a bit
guest
I don’t have the legs to pull off skinny jeans so I stay away…far away…

I am a curvy girl with a huge ass, thickish legs and a thin but short waist. Skinny jeans are my worst enemy and I would gladly wave this trend good-bye with a gun. I think they can look amazing on some thin-legged girls but not me.
) is not only time consuming but also down-right demoralizing. I hate those three way mirrors!

Technically, skinny jeans are just like any other jeans just they have a smaller leg opening…

Can I see some sources on skinny jeans versus vaginal childbirth? Your comparisons are sort of… incomparable. One is something very serious in relation to reproduction, and the other is just one of discomfort – but ignoring a tingling or numbness can lead to damaging a nerve in the thigh when it’s consistently tightly compressed by skin-snug pants. (Meralgia Paresthetica)
The skinny pants I wear fit me well and are super comfortable, and not melded to my skin. They’re usually a bit looser around the waist/hips to allow a little room for weight gain since I can always wear a belt, but the legs fit nicely without having to oil myself up to get in and out of them. Very comfy and breathable. I’ve never worn low-rise skinnies, just well-fitting ones that go up to the belly button or sometimes slightly lower.

I wear pants that fit me so I don’t have that problem.
guest
I have skinny jeans that aren’t tight to the point where you’re aware of the constriction 24/7. And I would rid of the ones that are like the ones you described here. I agree with you in the sense that, it’s unreasonable to force yourself into skinny jeans that are tooo small just because it’s a trend. But I don’t think it hides your curves.
guest
I doubt that skinny jeans have the ability to warp pelvic bones.

What the hell kind of skinny jeans are YOU wearing?
Mine fit fine, they’re super comfy and if I do say so myself, make my curves look pretty nice x]

If you buy the right size of skinny jeans, you will have those problem. If you buy jeans that actually fit, you won’t. plain and simple.
guest
My skinny jeans fit me just fine and if you got a muffin top from wearing it then maybe you should forgo this trend. Don’t force yourself to look good
guest
Mine fit normally, I don’t know what brand you were buying.
They were snug, but didn’t accentuate my hips weirdly or suffocate me.
Maybe that has to do with buying sizes too small, or body type.
rose / 807 posts
they fit me just fine…actually better than any other jeans i have EVER owned.
i’m kinda smaller? whatever. does not matter i’ve seen the most curvy girls ever rock skinny jeans that FIT.

When you can afford new jeans, go Delias. Great fit and they’re insanely stretchy; they both cling and give in all the right places. Until then, get the Perfect Fit Buttons at Walgreens. They should only cost you $10 and all your pants will magically fit again!
guest
Errr…my skinny jeans have a lot of stretch in them, so it feels rather comfortable, actually.
guest
I love them, even if I am on the chubby side. It really depends on who wears them, and what brand you buy.
guest
i wear skinny jeans that fit me…and not all skinny jeans are low-rise. mine are mid-rise. and jeans don’t cause a “jean line.” that’s just lovehandles for you.
guest
Maybe you should just wear skinny jeans in your size?
guest
wtf..no, i don’t agree. if people are too stupid to buy pants that fit, let them be stupid. i love skinny jeans but i wear ones that are comfortable & fit me, they don’t squeeze me too tight or are anywhere near cutting off my circulation. god people act like wearing skinny jeans automatically means you buy pants way too small but it’s not like that, some of us actually have some sense.
guest
I really like the tight fit on my legs. My pants never fit at the waist so I always wear a belt with all my pants with a bit of a muffin top.
guest
i dont get it.. loosing the ability to give birth cause of skinny jeans? they arent supposed to be that skinny if they are they dont fit. mine have spandex in them and are super comfy
guest
If you have problems with your lower regions you are evidently wearing too small of jeans
try getting ones that fit first
guest
Just because they’re called skinny jeans doesn’t mean they only come in skinny sizes. You just need to learn how to find the right size.
orchid / 116 posts
Skinny jeans are the only jeans I wear. I’m short, so if I wear another type, the ends end up dragging on the ground. With skinny jeans, the ends just bunch up over my shoes. This way, I don’t have to replace my pants every few months. xD
guest
I am not sure how being poor has anything to do with getting pants in a size that fit. I’ve never had that problem. I just buy things in the right size and if they don’t have one that will fit me, I just don’t get it.
guest
its all about getting the right size
guest
I think this is a bit dramatic. And as far as I know, (unless you’re plus sized) buying a size up shouldn’t cost more money. A size 4 is the same price as a size 12. But maybe that’s just me being me, buying clothes in the right sizes and all that craziness. Does anyone else buy clothes that are too small and even painful? Now I’m a bit curious.
guest
actually, mine fit me fabulously.
guest
UM buy the right size of skinny jeans and it is not a problem….
guest
I don’t really agree. There is a difference between wearing skinny jeans and squeezing into pants that don’t fit. I adore my pair of skinny jeans and I’m a size 12/14. They emphasize that I have a round poppin’ booty but I also have toned legs that look great. I feel fabulous in my skinnies and I never want to hide behind trouser pants again!
guest
I’ve wore skinny jeans..and they fit quite well.
guest
my skinny jeans fit just fine. “curves?” lol.
guest
@Hinase@xanga - I read that too, that she was “too poor” to buy jeans that fit her properly… I honestly don’t see how that’s a logical reason for not wearing appropriately sized clothing.
If you can afford jeans that are a size or two too small, than you most certainly can afford to buy jeans in the correct size.
So unless there’s more information that she hasn’t shared with us (ie. she only had access to second hand clothing from a sibling who was significantly smaller than she was) then it seems more of an excuse to just try and squeeze into jeans too small in a misguided attempt of looking “curvier”… which of course is counter productive since you just end up looking like a bigger girl trying to squeeze into pants that are too small for you resulting in the appearance of the “muffin top” that she described
smaller sized clothing don’t make you look smaller… they make you look like you’re wearing cloths that are too small for you.
lily / 5148 posts
@arsenic_and_red_lace@xanga - Maybe it’s not a good excuse but I’m only quoting what she wrote.
I agree with you though.

@Hinase@xanga - lol when my dad was young he was very thin… he was apparently a bit self conscience of it so he used to wear really big puffy winter coats…
my mom said that instead he just looked like a skinny kid in a big coat lol

@arsenic_and_red_lace@xanga - That’s funny…
I used to wear big coats and I’m quite small myself lol
guest
hmm… i guess i have a line around the pelvic?? or hip or whatever…
not a line but dent?? haha that sounds weird… but yeah wearing jeans too tight around the hip isnt goood!!
guest
I’m naturally relatively thin and very short, so skinny jeans just fit me better than other styles.
I really don’t think they’re for everyone. I love long, flared pants, but they swallow me.
People should just wear what fits them best and stop following trends just to follow them.

My skinnes fit me perfect. I love them to death.
I once fit into 00s. I almost ended up wearing them out of the store they were so tight. That was the day I decided to buy skinnes a size above what my normal jean size is.
hydrangea / 72 posts
Loosing feeling in your legs? You’re buying the wrong size.
guest
im 5’9 too and i hate low rise! i now shop at ny& co to get some good fitting jeans, the gap is ok too
guest
when i could fit into my skinny jeans. they fit perfectly fine. I had no problem but i also buy mine the correct size AND that actually fit.
guest
idk. i mean they’re not too tight for me. i even need a belt for a few of my skinny jeans. they’re only really tight at the bottom [ankle area]… but maybe because i’m short and i have big thighs… so my skinny jeans are.. i guess.. large.
guest
i didnt take the word “skinny” that literally
my jeans fit just fine, and if they’re too tight they make you look fatter cause you’re bursting at the seams
sunflower / 276 posts
@Newly_Vintage@xanga - Yeah so do mine.
guest
…uh, what? You lose the feeling in your legs? Don’t wear them then…
And no clothes have the ability to warp your bones.
guest
@burgerking781@xanga - Same, seriously. Hips being split and pelvis being warped? Can skinny jeans even DO that?
The only problem I ever have is that the way jeans fit, my hips are too wide for the size that fits my legs, so they’re tight for a little while and then stretch out and are perfect :]
guest
How the heck is one too poor to get skinny jeans in their size? They’re not bras, I’m pretty sure that all sizes are the same price. How about just going to a less expensive store? You don’t *have* to buy expensive skinnies if you don’t want to. They have like $15 skinnies at Charlotte Russe right now!
guest
they’re overrated…?
guest
I disagree. My skinny jeans fit me just fine, or they did before I got pregnant. I’ve never had trouble with them. I prefer skinny jeans over regualr jeans.
guest
They don’t look COMFORTABLE at all. I hate pants that are tight at my ankles. I feel like they should all flare a little from the knee- like bootcut or flare jeans.

@JoyElizabeth82@xanga - I don’t think so. Curvy girls actually can (and DO) look stunning in skinny jeans. I read in Seventeen magazine when the trend first started (and we all know how much that magazine hates thicker girls) that skinny jeans are good for girls with curves because it shows off the shape of their legs. I’m “curvy” and I rock skinny jeans so hard that it’s not even funny. I just bought three pairs in a size 12 that look amazing. You don’t have to be a size 2, or 4, or 6 to wear them. I’d still wear them even if I were a size 16! Idk. Like I said in my first post, I might just have the right body for them. With some people, I guess maybe not, but I wouldn’t say that it’s because you’re “curvy.” Like I said, I can point out so many curvy girls who look hotter in skinnies than the skinny jeans.
guest
I’d never be able to wear skinny jeans. I like baggy loose
fitting pants, and can’t have anything touching my ankles. If I can’t find my
skater pants, or bell bottoms or flares or something I WILL buy pants that are
2 big and wear belts and cut the bottoms so they aren’t touching my ankles. Just
a slit in bootleg or straight leg pants. Might be just me who likes being comfy
but I’m not going to squeeze my ass into something that don’t fit.
guest
If you buy the size that fits you, you shouldnt have a problem with them being too tight in the waist. I only wear skinny jeans, but none of them are so tight i can’t breathe.
guest
Where is this photo from? I want the blue pair.
Also, I am not skinny by any means. Which is why I buy clothes in a larger size than I would like to, as opposed to buying the size I would rather be and jamming myself into them. This post is weird.
guest
Umm my skinny jeans fit me fine, I don’t know what the fuck you’ve been wearing.
guest
@beebizzle@xanga - Oh so true.
orchid / 177 posts
This is kind of silly…how can most girls claim that skinny jeans look great on everyone? I have seen way too many ladies that look terrible in them but it’s the trend, you know? As far as them not being affordable, well I’m pretty sure even Wal-mart has them but it can be hard to find ones that fit well.
orchid / 177 posts
@Newly_Vintage@xanga - Curvy+shortwaisted+big calf muscles= not looking good in skinny jeans. I wasn’t summing up all curvy girls, just me so unless you’ve seen them on me I don’t think you can disagree. Not all curvies look the same anyway…saddlebags can be considered curvy. Kudos that you can look good in them. I don’t.
guest
If you buy the right size, they’ll be tight on your legs but still fit around your stomach… that’s how they’re made.
guest
I have thunda thighs I could never hope to fit into skinny jeans so i don’t gotta worry about it.
guest
My skinny jeans have never been “leg numbing” tight. I actually got a pair, and never wore them because they were impossible to sit on the floor in (crossed legs or on my feet). I inherited a new pair that fit much better. Skinny jeans are NOT supposed to hurt you, if they do, they you shouldn’t be wearing the style.
guest
i dont know where you shop, but i know some stores who are cheap but have many different size in skinny jeans.. its not about beeing poor or have loats of money, you only need a good look around…
i like me skinny jeans… they are well fitting and for every day wear..
guest
I’m curvy, semi-athletic with dancing and marching band. I wear a size 5 in the bootcut styled Bullhead jeans from Pacsun. I can’t even look at the Super-skinny jeans to the side without feeling in pain. I tried them on once because I loved the color of them… Oh no. A 5 was NOT about to get around my thighs/hips. I think I ended up needing to go up a couple sizes to keep the blood flowing in my legs. I decided it was rediculous to pay for them and put them back.
Curves > Skinny Jeans (for myself.) However, I have seen girls who do not have my body structure and look just fine in skinny jeans. I think it really just depends on your hips, haha.
guest
um…. just buy the right size…… all jeans will kill you style shape or not….your buying the wrong size…. and girls who look that way or who squeezed into them are buying the wrong size… dumb post
guest
they make most jeans with some stretch to them now.
sunflower / 355 posts
@pinkdagger@xanga - Agreed.
Not to mention I buy my skinny jeans from anywhere from 9 to 12 bucks at Forever21. (I don’t care about quality, by the time the jeans fail me the skinny jean trend will be deaaad.)
This post was fraught with bad grammar, inconsistent logic, and vague ideas…
guest
i haven’t worn pants at all for at least a year now.
i mean, at all. it’s so freeing.
guest
is this even a serious post?
guest
i hate skinny jeans. They make even the skinniest girl look distorted..
guest
My skinny jeans actually fit nicely and I don’t get the muffin top effect. If you are wearing sizes too small for you, then that is your problem and it is not the jeans. From what you are describing…..it sounds like you are outgrowing your old pair of jeans (your “preteen pants” as you described it) and should get new pairs. It’s not that expensive and “regular” jeans cost about the same….also there are other options (ex: skirts).
Also, cite your claims because it sounds really dubious.
orchid / 197 posts
I like skinny jeans! But I dont really wear them most of the time though. Fashion kills at times.
guest
I’m sorry that you couldn’t afford the jeans that you wanted or actually fit into, but IMHO, somebody should’ve stopped you and told you that you shouldn’t wear em or buy them at all.
I’m all about wearing stylish clothes that’s “in” or “popular”, but if it obviously doesn’t fit, don’t wear/buy it! I’m pretty sure you can find a pair of skinnies or w/e you want that fits right at a cheaper store like walmart or target. Yeah, it may not be Pacsun or Abercrombie, but they’ll be comfy and your hips and wallet will thank you.
Just sayin’
guest
Oh, and by the way..
Curves = Skinny Jeans, as long as you wear the right size.
And if you can’t find the right size, just get jeggings!
guest
All skinny jeans I have tried on and worn have never caused me pain and even had more room around the waist/hips than some flare jeans. It definitely depends on the maker of the skinny jeans. The material needs to have some elasticity and if they don’t feel comfortable get something different. I was poor in highschool and was allowed 2 pairs of jeans and 3 t-shirts a year. I made sure that the jeans had elasticity (that is key) and when they got too tight I would cut v’s into the waistband (my shirts covered these snips).
guest
i see where you’re going with this but i cant cut skinny jeans outta my life, i love em. i’ll just stick to not buying the 1ns that squeeze me too tight.
guest
I’ve never heard a women complain about this, unless they were too smal(about a size or two) you must shop around homegirl. my lil sis buys jeans from walmart and her sizes range from a 4(only once) to an 11(again, only once) but they vary from 5-9 for now reason at all. I buy shirts small there, medium some places, then large another, and they fit all the same.
Some stores just size their stuff akwardly. I love the way skinnys look, on the right figure.
guest
I’m a curvier girl, and I proudly rock skinny jeans, in fact only one pair of my jeans isn’t skinny and I almost never wear them. I also never have a muffin top. Its about choosing the right fit. Don’t squeeze a size 6 body into size 2 jeans and damn it PULL YOUR PANTS UP. If your jeans are the proper fit and hit you at the proper place, you should NEVER have a muffin top. I’m no where never a size 2 so I don’t try and stuff my hip and thighs into too tight pants. And about vaginal birth being affected by your jeans, errrm I don’t know what you are doing in those jeans, but you’re doing it wrong! My lady parts are never affected by my skinny jeans!
