The CW is coming under fire for provocative ads touting its new series “Nikita.” Shopping centers like the Grove in Los Angeles have declined to put up the sexiest ad (above). which features lead actress Maggie Q seated in a strappy leather outfit and brandishing a machine gun.
Some advertisers have compromised by airing a less racy version of the ad.
Do you think the top ad is too racy, Lovelies? Or is it just de rigueur marketing for the CW at this point?

Her shoes are hot..I do think it might be a tad risky for regular tv and not HBO.

I mean, personally, I would much rather want to see the show if I saw the second ad. The gun’s contrast with the elegant dress is much more interesting than a barely-there outfit and a gun.

Neither ads are too appealing. I do like the dress and the shoes in the second one though.
I’ve seen “racier” American Apparel ads. There’s one where the chicks skirt is lifted and it looks like she’s not wearing any underwear, but closer up she’s wearing “flesh” underwear.
Does it really matter anymore, if something is racy?

Because we won’t see a model in a bikini right next to it?
Pfft. That top outfit doesn’t even show that much in comparison to a freaking VS ad on TV or something.

Yeah I like the second outfit better. The first just looks kind of comedic, so I think even though it’s basis is stupid, it had a good outcome lol.

That ad is not ‘too racy’. You see worse on television every day.

mMm…girls with guns. yumm
guest
it’s not that racy…and i dont thinks she’s that hot….she’s so thin.
guest
Racy? Somewhat. But interested in the show? Not at all.

Sex sells.

I’ve seen worse on tv.

I think it’s a bit racy for shopping centers.

The show will be canceled halfway through the season anyways so who cares?

good god, airbrush central. Neither ad seems that interesting anyways.

No…don’t think it’s that racy compared to Calvin Klein ads!
Anyway I love Maggie Q, she was popular in Hong Kong.. so I’m glad she’s venturing out to the U.S. finally!

i wouldn’t mind the racy ads. kids nowadays see worse.

i think her dress should’ve been black in the 2nd ad. she blends in with the room! and yes the 1st ad is a little too much to be plastered in public everywhere, imo
guest
i really liked the first ad. they could have photoshopped it so it wouldn’t be so revealing. or have her wear some tight leather pants or a black skirt. it might have been fine.
guest
MAGGIE Q = hotness!
guest
why isnt she wearing any pants?!
guest
The ad isn’t racy…at all, really.
guest
Her shoes are hot. I love them so much….
I dont think its too bad. I mean stores like Abercrombie or VS, Bebe and so on have almost naked women yet no one pretests
guest
These pictures of Maggie Q don’t do her justice, they just don’t look good.
But she’s hot. And the pictures may be a tad bit too much for an ad in public place centers and the sort yeah perhaps
guest
What’s so racy about that? I think it looks fab.
guest
I actually like the second one better. Think the first one would shock mothers who aren’t used to seeing that angle of a hot woman, though. There are pictures of girls in bikinis all over the place, come on now.
guest
I know I’m kinda late but…the first one is kinda risky but still sexy as hell, even though she’s a bit too skinny.
@SaMoAnTeiNe00@xanga - You might be right, but then again…The CW churns out hit after hit so it will probably last at least 2 or 3 seasons. Also… I’ve watched the first few episodes, the action is pretty good and the acting is on point for the most part.
