What!? I’m sad. Aerie was the only type I bought. I guess it’s back to walmart for me.

I’m not sure where you live, but Aerie just opened up a store at Ontario Mills in California! When I went a couple of weeks ago the underwear was buy 5 for 25 and get 2 free!

i actually like to go to VS for underwear because as a whole the store is very over priced but they always have the 5 for 25 thing, and ive had some pairs for years and i never had a problem with the quality and i think they’re comfortable – i like the lacey ones cause i don’t even feel like i’m wearing underwear. but if you really have a strong aversion to shopping there, i agree with the comment about JC Penny, i never really go there because it is out of the way for me and i don’t shop anyway but my gma gave me a gift card once. i went to use it and i didnt really find much in the clothes dept. so i just bought all underwear in many different styles and they were really comfy and actually cute too. 

maybe you can call or email their customer support section and complain? if they see there is a demand maybe they will keep some stocked in the stores?

really? i was just at american eagle last week and they still have their aerie underwear out…but it’s up to 5 for $25 just like VS.

Not all AE stores carry the Aerie merchandise. However, most of the medium to larger-sized stores do. Call ahead to see if they have an underwear table for you to look at. If anything, go to an AE store & order what you want! It’s free shipping when you order from the store. (:

We actually have an Aerie store in Indiana, it’s amazing. Try locating a store near you, maybe?

Kohl’s has boyshorts. I used to shop there before I found out about
aerie. Some of the VS pink hipster/bikini/boyshort styles are good, and
it’s 5 for 25 there. Not bad.

They sell the Aerie underwear at the American Eagle near my house! I would suggest trying Target or Kohls…

They are selling less of it in stores because Aerie now has its own chain of stores. Go online and use the “find a store near you” function.

I’ve seen an Aerie store at one of the malls around here!  I usually wear VS though because of the 5 for $25.  I just think their underwear lasts a long time compared to other places.

I was SO confused when I read this because I have an Aerie store in my mall completely separate from my American Eagle.

I thought Aerie had its own stores? As in, I bought 2 bras from an Aerie store 4 days ago, and I’m pretty sure they weren’t planning on shutting down the store anytime soon? I’m not sure about where you are, but here in NYC, we’ve got plenty of Aerie stores. Also, nice choice, I love Aerie underwear. So comfy!

aerie has a store … they usually have one in the same mall as american eagle, just maybe a different floor or a few stores down.
3 of the malls in my city has both the stores just a few stores away from each other.

The problem is in retail, consumers don’t want to spend as much anymore and the retailers are losing out on profits because most of their “specialty” clothing is only going to be sold at outlet stores and during sales. So, that’s why Gap Body and Aerie are only available online– it’s saving money for the retail business. I know in my store, the head honchos only sent a limited amount of merchandise because they spent too much on merchandise production and shipping costs this year, so at this point, we’ve got less fewer products to sell. Another thing is the companies that own the GAP and Banana Republic and Old Navy are the same, and they’ve made the mistake of creating two rival stores under their same label- they compete for each other’s profits, which I think is a bad business move. Your disappearing “shops” inside these stores are just a result of the stupid business moves of the parent companies and the economy.

there is only an American Eagle/Aerie store in Times Square in NYC so there’s no Aerie store Also, the one by my sister said they only sell online so there’s no convenient place for me to shop for underwear! I don’t want to pay a shipping fee for $5 underwear… seems a bit silly.

I love Aerie too!  You can still buy some of their undies at the AE stores, but I think the reason that they’re cutting back is because they have their own stores for undies now.  Go here to check for stores near you.  You could also sign up for their e-mail list.  They have free shipping or discounts sometimes.  What’s your favorite type of underwear?

Why would aerie stop selling underwear? That’s half their store! I bought some at GAP the other day, $15 for 3 pairs, and they seemed to be nice quality.

That’s weird. Check out their site, maybe there’s an Aerie store near you, because there is one near my mall.
