Besides doing well in school, I’ve decided to make a list of small things I want to do in the next four years:
- Play on the side of the street in Savannah, GA
- Take a roadtrip with friends
- Go on a mission trip
- Publish my compositions
- Host a composition recital
- Go to China on my own
- Be in a skit or a play
- Sing in front of an audience
- Learn to dance again
- Take ice skating lessons
- Buy a really nice camera and start experimenting
- Form a respectable string quartet
- Ride Goliath at Six Flags
- Eat an edible flower
- Buy an ice cream maker/mooch off of somebody who already has an ice cream maker and make ice cream
- Go to Doughnut Factory in NYC
Do you have a list? What are the side things you want to do in the near future?

The summer before I started college, I actually made a list of “THINGS I WILL NOT DO WHILE IN COLLEGE” with about forty items on it. By the end of freshman year, I ended up checking off a little over half the list.
Heh.

I’m just glad that ‘have a threesome’ isn’t on there, hahaha. your list sounds like fun! enjoy yourself =)

(great idea, i haven’t really thought about this til now)
my list would include (i bet i’ll end up with way more than 16 thing i want to do):
go on a road trip with just friends (maybe drive down to LA or Vegas); pick up Spanish and Mandarin again; get baptized as a Christian, keep going to church and spread God’s love; catch up with good old friends while continuing to meet new people and networking; get an internship; get a scholarship; work towards my career goals and get some training; find a job or volunteer work; bake with friends; make a huge scrap book filled with the best memories with my close girl friends; move out of town for a couple of weeks with my friends in that college town 2 hours away from home; date people; run a marathon; get fit, keep going to the gym; go to the beach/ boardwalk; make a sandcastle; go on all the scary rides at a theme park; start writing an autobiography; learn the piano again (i quit lessons 4 years ago) and maybe even a new instrument; make more silly music videos with my friends; act out scenes from a musical (esp Rent 2005); go to beauty school to get my hairstyling license so i can help my Mom’s business out; travel to Europe and get exposed to art and fashion (London, Paris, Florence); maybe study abroad; master swimming butterfly stroke without pulling a muscle; eat yummy good healthy food; stay under 100 lbs (i’m 5’1”); get familiar with PhotoShop and graphic design; be a pro with the sewing machine, at altering clothes and fashion construction; hone my art and fashion design skills; go to a lot of my favorite bands’ live shows and meet some favorite band members; transfer out of junior college, get accepted into and graduate from a prestigious Fashion or Art & design school..
okay i’ll stop here

Good list. I want to make one since I’m starting college next month =P
Hmm… a few I can think of are study abroad (preferably Spain), work at a daycare… wow I need to think about this a little bit more!

@xa06@xanga - you should share the list ^_^ a similar thing happened to me this past year. oh the innocence i’ve lost xD

Ouch, I don’t think with paying for college and potentionally having to work a few hours to help the financial situation that you are going to have any opportunity to TRAVEL. Probably not the time, either. I think some of these things sound like “things I want to do before I die” rather than IN college, no offense.

Take a roadtrip is something I wanna do.

@babymeatball@xanga - We can make that happen

It’s my senior year of high-school this year.
I want to get more involved. Be in the play, specifically. But I have terrible stage fright, and not a very loud voice.

This is a great list.
I hope you get all of them done! That would make your college experience really worthwhile!

Eh I’m already in college. Its alright. Too much drama really. I’m usually too busy and too poor for things like “China”. I have more going on at home than at the campus. I did the whole party thing my freshman year… yeah. Big waste of time. Parties are simply that… parties. I rather go home and read or snuggle with my SO.
But if I had to pick a few things…
Try out for musical
Try out for Dance Company
Go to class more
Make a few more friends
and get involved in a club/organization that is NOT greek!

Sounds like a fantastic list! I’m on that five-year plan lol but I’ve had a lot of fun along the way. Here’s hoping my last year is worthy of being the grand finale

This is a good list, and a good idea in general
P.S. – I go to college in Savannah, Ga!

great list!
but uh….good luck.
you’ll be so busy in college that you won’t have time for anything, UNLESS you organize yourself real well.

For any of you that havent seen it yet you might want to check out The Buried Life. Everything your saying is what they are all about. You can post your list at theburiedlife.com and see other people’s lists too. It really helped me because people would see it and be like “oh hey I can help you with #21″ or whatever. I think you’ll like it

My favorite on your list: Play on the side of the street in Savannah. I seriously considered going to Savannah College of Art and Design-SCAD. I’m just about obsessed with going to school in Georgia.

I’ve never made a list like that, although I did have a “bucket list” for this summer. I guess the main thing on my list would be to relax, focus, and learn all about Swiss culture this coming semester. I’m leaving for a semester abroad in two weeks!
