My hair is brittle and fine. So thin and scarce that even 2 years of growing my hair out got me only 3 inches on my hair. And I take really good care of it. whether something is expensive or not is based off of the ratio of your wealth NOT the $number, $24K only seems like a lot of money to most people, because most people are working on a different range than celebrities and the rich/ultra rich (which control nearly all the resources…90% of the people are really just working off the crumbles, the majority of us just share the crumbles). according to a sites I came across online Miley made over $25 million. she hasn’t even reached 20 yet, most people would take several lifetimes over to accumulate that kind of money.

so her hair extension is really a drop in the bucket, and ratio-wise would put her back less than what a normal hair-extension probably would cost an average girl.

it’s always easier to point to someone else’s money and say what they could do with it, but I bet most of the people who say she could donate to charity, probably wouldn’t do so if it were their money and not hers.

For her to spend $24,000 on her hair, is like us giving $24 to our hairdresser to get a cut, in a third world country $24 might be able to feed a person about a month but for us it’s not a significant amount because we can’t live on it.

Miley makes tens of millions, she’s not going to be counting her expenses in the tens of thousands because it’s not significant to her. Just like how Bill Gates doesn’t have to bat an eyelash to drop 5 million on something if he’s worth 50 billion. To Miley, 5 million is probably significant but to Bill Gates it’s not.

That’s why I think things should be calculated in terms of ratios, like if I could make $100/day (now), I’d be happy but if Bill Gates made only $100 a day he’d probably crap in his pants.

The rich and ultra rich don’t live in the same world as the rest of us…any more than we live in the same world as most of the people on this planet who are ultra-poor.

Most of the rich/ultra rich I know just drip a portion of their wealth to their family or relatives and people around them… so they’re a decamillionaire, buy their four children nice homes and educations; so they have hundreds of millions, live with their family in a palace with ten servants… and then when it comes to friends, they setup some deals for them, so their friends kids don’t have jobs, ok just play security guard for one of the many properties they own. attend a party they’re hosting and here’s a few hundred bucks for your friend of a friend’s kids. which leaves me scratching….is your best friendship with the ultra rich one way? ….like you’re their best friend but they don’t know you exist?!?? lol.

Most of the rich and ultra-rich just hang with their own peer group, they’re dealing with things on another level, they hire people to deal with the smaller figures so they can concentrate on tackling the big figures, if they waste all their time on small figures and surrounded themselves with people who can’t acknowledge their reality, they probably wouldn’t be very rich, or very rich for long. If you’re pulling together hundreds of million or billion dollar deals and getting paid in tens or hundreds of millions for it, it’d be futile to be wasting time on $50K or $100K decisions. That’s just how it work, most of us are small potatoes dealing with insignificant matters, we have hard time think of anything bigger than our needs and wants.

So for Miley, if she wants to continue on making tens of millions or more, she has to come up with things that can generate more than what she’s earning…do people even think about things like this? Try coming up with ideas that can generate 50 or a 100 million! Are you willing to take up that responsibility? …and if you’re in the middle of figuring out how to sustain tens of millions in revenue per year, are you going to be worrying about a $24K hair extension? Yeah, $24K is $24K. If it’s $24K everyone has lots of $24K’s in Zimbabwe money, most of us probably billions or trillions many times over, so many zeros that we’ll have to lose track of how many zeros we have on our net worth…all Zimbabwe money.

If your best friend’s really ultra rich, then why are you wasting your time being poor?
