Was it fate that Robert Pattinson plays a vampire in the “Twilight” series, or was it due to his family relationship with the real life Dracula?
If you’re wondering if he’s related to the vampire, you’re wrong. There is an actual person named Dracula (with the last name to be exact).
Vlad III Dracula, the real life Transylvanian, was the inspiration for Bram Stoker‘s novel, “Dracula,” who basically started the whole vampire literature. According to Ancestry.com, the researchers claim that Dracula was Robert Pattinson’s distant uncle. And guess who else was related to Dracula? Prince William and Prince Harry were his distant nephews!
Get this, it gets even stranger. Somehow, Stephanie Meyers, the author of the “Twilight” series, is also connected to this once famous man. Maybe it’s a British thing, you think?
In a way, we’re all connected – in grade school, I read somewhere that we all have some African blood in us, and that everybody actually “came” from Africa.
Whether or not the lineage is real, this is some good promotion for the movie. “Eclipse” will open on June 30.
Do you believe the news?

Stephenie Meyer is American so the “British thing” is ruled out. *lol* Anyway, who really even cares?

uhm…. yeah, we all have common ancestors if you trace back far enough. not really that impressive.

adam and eve are my ancestors haha its a joke:)………………..i thinkXD
good post i heared about this in the radio but you gave more info

Hmm. That’s interesting. I wonder how much is made up just for media. The African blood thing makes sense. I mean if you do a full transition from a chimp to a human, the similarities are strikingly similar. Maybe Dracula is the ancestor of people of European descent?

Pangaea!

I always wanted to have my bloodlines traced to see who I was related to. I would love to be related to Edgar Allan Poe

“According to Ancestry.com, the researchers claim that Dracula was Robert

I read this on people. It’s really interesting! A lot of people in England are probably related to royalty in some way. They had a lot of children, many illegitimate, so there are many claimants to the throne.

Really? Why are you guys so full of criticism? I find it interesting and funny.

Vlad the Impaler.
guest
@betterdesigned@xanga - Yes but most white American’s came from Europe so technically it is not ruled out.
guest
Girl you crazy, I ain’t from Africa.
guest
Oh, Vlad the Impaler.
I suppose that’s kind of cool, though I don’t care for Pattinson or Twilight in the slightest.

I think Vladimir (I’m assuming that’s what Vlad is short for) is a sexy name. rawwr. I do not, however, find Robert Pattinson very sexy. I think he is highly overrated.
@ChaoyD@xanga - yeah yeah! Peace out everybody, we’re all just Pangeans in the end.
guest
wow, they teach the out of africa hypothesis in elementary school? sweet.
guest
Who are you refering to as a British thing cause Vlad wasn’t from England…
guest
@needmoreink@xanga - It’s Vladislav.

@dianchik_icons@xanga - also known as Vlad the Impaler…haha just to throw another epithet around…
people need to realize that the original Dracula is from the 15th century. are you really going to trust some random website tracing down someone’s roots all the way to the 1400′s?? really??
guest
pure propaganda

@dianchik_icons@xanga - Ah damn, now I feel sadly uninformed….well, Vladislav is a sexy name too.

@ntancin@xanga - Lol…good point. Although this is the American public we’re talking about, so yes…yes, we are going to trust a random website. Everything we read on the Internet is true, right??

Most people are connected distantly, I think.

Six degrees of separation, people. I bet I’m distantly related to half the commenters. Very, very distantly.

If this stupid vampire-wannabe uses the beautiful name of Vlad Tepes, Vlad the Impaler, Vlad Dracula, in vain, I will kill him. Myself.
Vlad was a real life horror story. Vlad was a real life inspiration of living evil. He was a historical vampire, and I am a huge fan.
Count Chocula has more fucking vampire streed cred then Edward Cullen.
Stephanie Myer has no idea what she is talking about. She has destroyed the old vampire legends, cut them up, and used bits and pieces of their integrity sprinkled in her god awful pre-teen love stories.

Vlad the Impaler. He was one scary dude. Of course most of us probably have common relatives. Heck, analysis of the human genome shows that most people of European or Asian decent have traces of Neanderthal in them from when the humans migrated out of African and encountered the other species. See? We’re related to non-humans, too! XD

WHO CARES?

@HollowTendencies@xanga - human life started in africa. as we evoved we moved out to different parts of the world. but that was like 500,000 years ago so techanicly you ain’t from africa
